Sportsman's Fast Cash
Very nice and courteous staff, there to help you when you need it. They won't try and give you the absolute lowest price on your hard earned property and will actually work with you to get closest to the dollar amount that you need. Also if you're a few days late on your payments they'll give you a few extra days here and there to help out if you're having a hard time money wise. Also if you're there to shop the listed sticker price is never final, I've almost always been able to get them to give me a way better deal on their already pretty low prices. Ask for Chase, he's really helpful and really is there to help you in times of an emergency and genuinely there to assist you if need be which is what's bad about most pawnshops that I've been to and I'll end up getting ripped off on top of the reason I need to even get a loan on my stuff, which honestly no one likes to do of course. If you need to pawn or just want to shop come here. Definitely the best pawn shop in the whole salt lake city valley.

Witzel Sales & Loan
@Peter G.To you sir I have to say, "What ever it is you are smoking, you should give it up". I have over the years had the necessity to require Pawnshop services. Of the 6 or 7 I have done business with Witzel's has by far been the best one hands down. This is in both HOW I was treated and the WAY I was dealt with. I have seen the staff deal with damn near every race on this planet and I never witnessed anything but professionalism and courtesy toward everyone, and I am sure that you sir were one that it required extra of both to deal with. My guess you wanted a fortune for some junk you had and "you just didn't get your way". And just a note to address your stupid "racist" comment. I AM A BLACK MAN. And just like you being stupid, neither one of us can change those two facts.

Jeremiah Rex Smith Construction LLC
I am the owner of Jeremiah Rex Smith Construction and wanted to reply to the review from Soror V. and set the record straight. I received the following letter from the owner of this job."Jeremiah did commendable work in my back yard. He is a fine, gentle, competent man whose work is flawless. But the renter at this property took a dislike to Jeremiah so decided to post a derogatory review on him. This is my desire to set the situation right. I would not hesitate to hire him again. I recommend him to anyone wanting an excellent job... You will be glad you did! –D. Petersen. September 2015."This home owner actually hired me back to do a second job for her at her home one month later.

Jeremiah Rex Smith Construction LLC
Jeremiah Rex Smith and his crew has done several jobs for me at home: Two concrete jobs, which were done with care, using great technique, on time, and the envy of the neighborhood. We discussed details ahead of time, answered every question, before and during the work. I used his company because he stressed craftsmanship and had a crew that had been working with him for a long time. All were very responsible. He always listened to what I needed to be done.Jeremiah also acted as general contractor for a deck. He made the project flow smoothly and matched the job to some excellent sub contractors. I will be using him again in the future.

Kay Lyn Construction Inc
After being in business together as father and son for nearly 15 years they have built up a reputation of being honest hard workers. Having the customer leave a house key is not unusal - they have great connections to get the best work for the best price. Remodels, kirchens, bathrooms, new sheds, patios, new structures and commercial. The are one of only a few small businesses who have made through two recessions. Proud of my boys - please give them a try!!

Westside Pawn & Jewelry
This is always the place I go now. They offer the fairest price on everything I've taken in. A couple of times they've even offered more than what I was hoping for so, how can you argue with that? The staff is awesome too, genuine people that understand when people are down on their luck. Plus, I like when I find a place that is comfortable enough to just stand & b.s. for a few. It's my fave!

I'm not sure about who the manager was when the last review was written, but the guys in there right now have always taken care of me. First class customer service and people who actually care about what they do. Ask for Sandra, she's one of those rare people who makes you feel like more than just a face in the crowd.

Tips & Advices
If there is ever a dispute regarding payment over the course of the project, a contractor or subcontractor could place a payment claim, or lien, on your property. To avoid this, ask the contractor to sign a lien release, which is a legal agreement that states that any payment accepted is final. This can come in handy if a contractor has his or her own payment issues with their subcontractors. Signing a lien release form certifies that any payment made by a client to the contractor is enough to pay for any goods or services rendered.
Absolutely ask. Paying too much up front offers the homeowner minimal leverage if the quality of work does not meet expectations or contractual specifications. Try to establish a reasonable pay schedule, such as paying 10 percent of the total cost for each 10 percent of the work that is completed. Include this payment plan in the contract, as well.
Before any money changes hands, there should be a contract to sign. Make sure the specifics of the work and all costs are listed in the contract, including details. If you forget to have something included in the contract after signing it, there's rarely a chance of recourse.
Ask the contractor for proof of their certification before signing anything, as well as their proof of insurance. You should also check your homeowners insurance policy to see if they offer coverage for contracted work. You may want to call your insurance provider and ask for more details on what your plan will and won't cover.
Yes. Plans for how the work site will be cleaned at the end of each day as well as at the conclusion of work need to be put in writing. An experienced general contractor should make every effort to keep the workspace clean and prevent dirtying or damaging any other area. Even so, talk with the contractor about the daily schedule, the logistics of transporting workers and equipment, and how cleanup will be handled.

Just a moment...
