Fantastic Locksmith service. We needed to rekey our locks after moving. Apparently hardware stores will do this - if you bring the locks in! It was never made clear to me how that's supposed to work - one guy actually said, "Uh, maybe someone stands by the door at home." So anyway, I asked one store if they could refer a company who does onsite service. They did, and I got a quote for about $350. West Jordan Locksmith Service - who I found on here - was able to do it for half that. They were helpful, patient, and clear. Paul was the guy I arranged things with, and James actually did the work that day. It was simple, easy, quick, and affordable Locksmith Service around West Jordan, UT.

Positive: the actual locksmith was very cool. Aaron Griffith is his name. He got the job done on a Quickset Smart lock which is unpickable and our door is very tight.Negative: the operator/dispatcher quickly gathered our info and announced that a locksmith was on the way before we had a chance to ask about price. She said it would probably be about $35. We were charged $75. Felt like we got bamboozled. Another locksmith quoted us at $60 so we would not have gone with 24 HR Lockouts if we had received a better estimate.

If you think you are going to break into your car yourself take a lesson from me. You wont, and you’ll probably mess your vehicle up in the process. Something I can attest to. To this day when it rains…its rains on my left arm. That’s because I destroyed my rubber seal with the only metal hanger I had left in my closet. Best tip I could give to someone else. Call 24 hour lockouts. Much cheaper and way more effective.

Those darn keys they give you for your storage unit locks are awfully easy to lose. I found this out the hard way. I went and bought bolt cutter to get this “disc lock” off. No fun way was that thing being chopped off. So my wife finally talked some sense into me. I called 24 hour lockouts and he didn’t chop saw or bang the lock off. He picked the supposedly unpickable lock right open. Good fast and reliable.

I finally found the best locksmith in Salt Lake! I have them last night after I locked my little puppy in my car and the keys were inside so I have to find and call a locksmith. I searched all through out the internet and read some reviews about them. I was so pretty convinced they could help fast and they did not disappoint me. They arrived immediately and opened the car. I'm so happy for my dog.

I call a 24 hour lockouts. The locksmith shows up unlocks the car and guess what…my battery is dead. He spends the next 30 minutes trying to charge my battery enough to start. No such luck. He then drives me to a auto parts store to buy a new battery and helps me put it in. No extra charge. After that he gives me a discount for serving our country. I gave him a tip for being so awesome. Thanks

With all the technology out these days you”d think we could come up with a way to not lock ourselves out of things. Like our medicine safe. I really needed my blood pressure meds but they were safely locked away from me. I considered throwing the lock box off my roof but relented and called 24 hour lockouts. It was worth the $35 to not have another stroke. Thanks for being a life saver.

Tips & Advices
Locksmiths-in-training can receive foundational knowledge and skills through programs offered at technical colleges or vocational schools. These would include basic courses on lock mechanics and manipulation, along with general skills like business management. From there, most trainees seek an apprenticeship, where they work alongside a professional locksmith. This allows them to gain experience in the field. It can also put them on a course toward certification.
Upon arrival to your home, a locksmith should ask you to prove that it is in fact your residence. They should also be able to unlock most common locks without requiring them to be drilled or completely replaced. Be sure to obtain an invoice that lists all charges before agreeing to pay.
  • If possible, research local locksmiths online and take note of any that have poor reviews or complaints.
  • When calling a locksmith, confirm their address matches what you found online or in a directory. Then ask for a cost estimate for the service you need, and ask to have them bring a written copy of this estimate.
  • Some states require locksmiths to be licensed. If your state is one of them, require the locksmith to bring proof of registration when they arrive.
The term locksmith traditionally referred to people who designed and built locks, but today is generally used for those who repair and replace locks. Locksmiths can be available on-call to help people if they're locked out of their home or apartment.
  • First, determine the type of lock you have, as well as the manufacturer or model if possible. You should also obtain measurements of your door and frame.
  • Remove exterior and interior knobs by unscrewing any visible screws you find. Many knobs will include a decorative cover on the interior side that can be removed.
  • Once you've removed the entire lock, find the screws on the inside of the door frame to remove the latch or deadbolt.
  • With everything removed, repeat these steps in reverse order to install the new lock.
