Took 2009 HHR in for oil change and to check a noise that began after last visit when they replaced an axle seal. I have been going there for almost 20 years, but no more.First mechanic (tall, personable black man) rode with me and heard the noise over the noise of the tires. Then he took the other mechanic who came back saying it was just a rubbing noise made from the cupped tires. The sound is a scratching or clicking noise heard by the other mechanic and a friend who rode with me... I tried to explain this and he got an attitude and stomped back into the garage area saying "I'm not going to argue about it".Then I get home and see on the receipt "Antifreeze is low"... nobody topped it off or mentioned it. Also said no wiper blade on rear, but it is there and works fine, does not need replacement (is he blind and deaf?) also said the front ones were in need of replacing. They work like new, were replaced not long ago and it was raining today so I know.So I complained a little to the girl at the front desk who was supposed to have a manager call me back. Well I know people around town and in speaking to another garage later found out she is the wife of the mechanic with the attitude. They also previously gave me an estimate to fix the tire wear. Tires, alignment, front struts, rear shocks amounting to about $1600. Well, after all this I went to another shop who looked things over and said I do not need new shocks or struts.Beware, they are selling you things you don't need

Forgot to tighten the lugs on my tire after a tire rotation. I sat on I95 with my 2 children after my truck started shaking so bad I had to pull over. Luckily I did or my children and I would've been dead.

Do not come here to get a car!!!!!!!!!!!! I brought a 2013 impala. Left the lot feeling happy. The next morning i go to get in my car and the key would not open the door. Called the company to let them know I was told that they didnt know why they could not come to me to open my door and i had to figure it out. I had to pay $95.00 for a tow truck driver to come out and pop my lock. Went to the dealership only for them to confirm that the key was not the original key and it didnt work on the door. A week later after complaining about not being able to lock my door they came and took my car from me. I was told that the bank decided not to approve my application because my reference and my address did not match my license. Well two sales people had wrote their information as a reference and my address on my license i had my lease and pay stubs to verify my new address. They never contacted me and i am still fighting to get my deposit back. They do not answer the phone and every time i call for the owner Tom Hopkins he is never in. I have contacted the DMV and will be going to court. Do not waste your time or money here. They are big crooks

Came to a good deal no problem getting there but slow to get a title
Tips & Advices
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill. The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done so you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage.
Yes. Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop.
