I went to Finz recently and found it to be a wonderful experience. The waitstaff was friendly and very helpful and attentive. We were fortunate to be seated at a window table with a beautiful view of the water and the many passing boats. I had an appetizer special that included two of the largest scallops I have ever seen-delicious. The Hawaiin swordfish with sweet potato fries was outstanding as was the baked haddock with crabmeat. Clam chowder with corn also very good. Mixed drinks are a good size and not watered down. Large bar with a number of couches in the room is good for group conversation. Plenty of outdoor tables, too. The dress is casual from tee-shirts and shorts to business casual. Finz has been added to my list of favorite restaurants.

I moved to Salem a year ago and have tried this place on four occassions. Every time the service has been rudely slow and they are never busy. I tried the Pigs Eye one last time this weekend and while waiting patiently in line, a bartender named Annie stopped fixing my drinks two different times to yell to friends who werent even facing the bar to see if she could get them any additional drinks and made myself and another gentleman wait who were at the front of the line. When the other three people I was with had enough and wanted to leave, I attempted to get my tab rung up...she ran my card..printed it..and set it down...in order to stop and ask a bartender who had just walked in from the next bar over what she could fix him...A chilled Patron is what he requested. When I signaled what seemed to be the hold up of her handing it to me to sign...I was told by Annie I needed to wait until she had taken care of the man in line behind myself and one other person behind me who had also been waiting patiently. Almost 20 minutes to get my check!!! So even if you are a local....and not familiar with the management...they will make it clear they dont want your business. If you dont believe me...just try it out for yourself...they are 0 for 4 with me....There are plenty of other places in Salem that will be happy to take your hard earned money...and chances are their food is better then the cuisine served up that they must send out for based on the time it takes to get it.

Went here for a first date recently. Staff was amazingly helpful, friendly and professional. Offered me the pick of spots for the date, including the private table in ""the vault"". Fairly good spot for a romantic date. Crowd was light early, but decent sized later on (11:00+) and a good age mix. We ended up not having a dinner at all, but a couple glasses of wine and relaxed on the sofas behind the hostess stand. Live music was pretty good, but wasn't too loud to make conversation difficult.\r \r Overall, the atmosphere was great, staff was incredible and wine was good at reasonable price.\r \r I will definately be returning to actually try the food.\r \r Will suggest to friends.

The food was very very good and very reasonably priced we had several bumps in our service. The waitress didn't write anything down during the ordering process and therefore we had mistakes. My husband ordered the cheeseburger club on wheat with onion rings and I ordered the NY Deli Red Pastrami sandwich with American cheese on a bulkie roll (choice of bulkie roll or rye bread). He received a regular cheese burger on a sesame hamburger roll and I got my pastrami without cheese on the same hamburger roll. As I stated the food was delicious as it came, but it wasn't what we ordered. And then they charged me $.75 for the cheese that I never received. They did offer us a dessert, on them for messing up the hamburger order (we didn't bother mentioning the other 2 issues as the waitress was very upset at the error -- I didn't want to ruin her day further). We didn't have time (or room) for a dessert. I'd still go back.

Trying to get something delivered an be annoying. They only take cash and twice I called for a delivery and was told that they were busy and short staffed so if I wanted something delivered I'd have to spend a certain amount of money which was way beyond my plans. I am done with them now. You either deliver or you don't I don;t want to pay more becasue of a poorly managed business.

Indian cuisine is by far one of my absolute favorites so I love to try it in every city I visit. This was one of the best meals I have ever had!! I went basic this time and just got the Chicken Curry (hot) and some Garlic Naan. Everything was so flavorful and just cooked perfectly. The garlic naan was the best I had ever had. The staff was very friendly and gave fantastic service. I'm only sorry that I don't live closer!
