Caylor's Mobile Auto Repairs
I've used John's service many times for both my and my wife's vehicles over the past few years. He has always done a good job at a fair price, even more so considering he comes to you, and either works at your location or takes your car for free back to his place. I'm very skeptical about the review calling him dishonest, since on more than one occasion he has offered to NOT get paid when things didn't work out. One time my car refused to recreate the issue it was having earlier, and so he had nothing to analyze. He was going to leave without charging me anything (despite driving all the way to my house and spending time to look at the car) until I insisted to pay him something for his time. On another occasion after performing an oil system pressure test and replacing a sensor on my wife's car, he determined that the problem was a complex electrical system and wiring issue causing an incorrect warning to flash on the dashboard. He said he didn't have the specific expertise to do that type of electrical work, and felt so bad about not being able to solve the problem that he later offered to refund what he had charged for the work he did. We of course declined the refund, as what he did was necessary to be able to determine that there was not in fact a severe oil system problem, which was later confirmed by a Volvo specialist. He is one of only two mechanics I've used in my life that I would wholeheartedly recommend.

SilverKing Collision Center
The name of the game with auto body shops is finding the right one first and foremost, especially if you have a claim through the insurance companies. All will tell you they will save you money, and cut corners and those are the ones to avoid. Once they have you in there for an estimate, you're not leaving until they get your business, especially if you have a front end accident with damage under the hood that you can't see. So research all shops in your area and see their reviews. I have a rule of thumb that if you going to spend over $1,000 on anything, get 3 estimates. With auto body shops it's a little more tricky so to get it right, here was my criteria: Non-franchise business. Nothing shady on the south side. Family owned and in business for over 10 years. Good reviews. After the smoke cleared, there was only one: Silverking. Great communication with Steve and Darlene. Just like the good old days when shops did as they promised and treated you with courtesy and delivered on everything they said. Body work was flawless, after a front end collision and bent hood and broken bumper, I couldn't notice anything. It was seamless. Paint was a perfect match on a customized midnight metallic blue. Literally, you could notice NOTHING and that's the point. Only when something is wrong do you notice it. This shop gets 5 out of 5 stars in my book and is VERY competitive at $42 per hour.

Quality Discount Mufflers
On Tuesday February 7th, 2017 at approximately 4:56 p.m. I called Quality Discount Mufflers and spoke to a gentleman named Ed. I explained to him that my son and I were calling a few muffler shops to have my son's 1989 Pontiac Firebird Muffler repaired. That it was hanging lower than usual on the driver's side. I asked Ed if this is something he could look at he said of course he could and asked if my son could bring the Firebird to him right away. I said yes of course but what time do you close today, Ed said we close at 5:30 but it was a minor job and he would get my son's car in and out before 5:30. My son then drove to Quality Discount Mufflers, about 10 minutes away, and met with Ed. Ed quickly found that it was a broken bracket on the driver's side of the muffler and fixed it within minutes and at a very reasonable rate. Ed was right he was able to diagnose, fix and close his business on time. We were very grateful for his professionalism and helpfulness on this Old School 1989 Firebird. Ed was able to close on time leaving behind a very satisfied customer. We will surly recommend this Muffler shop to family and friends and will return if necessary with other muffler issues on any of our other cars.Thank you Quality Discount Muffler and Ed.Old School Firebird owner, Tyler D.

St. Pete Powersports
We were able to test drive our bike before we bought it and have been very happy with our purchase. They have also been very nice when we've had questions or needed help/information after we bought the bike. The service & parts department have been very friendly & helpful as well. We would not hesitate to buy a bike from them again (except says 2 is enough When I first went in it seemed like a typical large dealership. However, when I spoke to the salesman, Jeff, he made me feel welcome & not pressured. Jeff was polite & informative of the stock. He made the buying experience enjoyable & stress free. They were accomodating by encouraging us to test drive our bike before we made a decision. The service department is also very good. The staff well trained & very knowledgable, inspiring trust. We have been back a couple of time since the purchase & everyone has been more than happy to help. We would not hesitate to buy from St Pete Motorsports again.

I contacted the dealership via email about a 2013 Triumph America. Jeff Green responded to me in a timely manner and we exchanged a few emails back and forth over a couple weeks. I finally had a chance to go in and sit on some bikes. Jeff advised me to sit on a few bikes like the Bonneville and Thruxton, as well as the America and Scrambler. I still went with the America but was glad to try other bikes out because you never know. I had not intended to buy that but went ahead and did a credit app while was there. With only fair credit I was surprised to have been approved! Chris Burnside went over all the details with me and helped me make a wise loan decision. Never did I feel pressured into buying anything or forced to do things "their way." They even let me know about events they participate in and a local Triumph riders club. Overall a great and friendly experience and I look forward to doing more business with them!

Professional Auto Body, Inc.
This place rocks! I narrowed my search down to several locations in St. Petersburg, by rating to have the front of my 2012 Jeep Wrangler refurbished. After seeing the other locations/quotes-I ended up going with Tye and his shop. Wise choice too, because they did/do incredible work. Miracles actually, considering how much tweaking they had to do to make my Jeep come together. I gave him some intricate work to do with special details and his guys pulled it off.His customer service is fantastic. Contacted me with anything that came up to make sure I was okay with it. Clean and organized office, as well as the rest of the property. I simply had a good vibe from the day I stopped in to get a quote; to the day I picked up his masterpiece. I would recommend Professional Auto Body Inc of St Petersburg to anyone considering any vehicle repairs or in need of general vehicle knowledge. Thanks guys!Rob S.

Bay Pines Auto Mart
Not your traditional car dealership, I loved the process from start to finish. They weren't trying to sell a dream or just put you in a car to get the sell. They approved me and let me explore their lot by myself, no chicken hawking and still ready and available to answer my questions. Once I found a car they threw me the keys and let me test drive it, not your typical mom sitting in the backseat test drive, just me and my new car... I could give Bay Pines Auto Mart praise all day but I really want to thank Tommy, I don't want to label him a car salesman because he went above and beyond that. Thank you Tommy, Bay Pines Auto Mart should be honored to have someone like you representing them.Thank you from a Super Pleased Customer!

Quality Discount Mufflers
I brought my Volvo to Quality Discount Mufflers today and I am I glad that I did!I was in need of having my loud and worn out muffler replaced. Ed (President of Quality Discount Mufflers) put it on the lift and told me it would cost $50.53 for the new muffler (that included labor & tax). The part he used was Grade A and made in the good old USA. Ed was very friendly and talked with me the entire time he worked on the car. He worked hard to save my tail pipe rather than sell me a new one and gave it some additional reinforcement to help it last. After he finished we reviewed the work and I was very pleased. Ed does excellent work, using Grade A parts and charges a fair price. Great Customer Service - Thank you Ed!

Jerry's Automotive Service
I was down in Florida to visit my 90 year old father. he had a clicking noise in steering wheel of his car and his long time shop told him it would be over 900 to repair. My dad did not trust what he heard. I looked up shops on line and after calling a up few Jerry was jammed buy agreed to look at it while I waited that day.I took him 30 seconds to check it out, show me what was wrong and gave us a price of 200 plus tax and set up appointment for the next day.Picked up car next day with noise gone, showed me old part and bill was exactly what he said it would be.I have been in the automotive field for 45 years and I was impressed that he did business the way EVERYONE should do it.Thank You Jerry.Michael Kohler, Westtown NY

The Body Works Inc
OK. I am so impressed with the level of service I received last week that I had to share with anyone looking for best auto body work with personal attention to clients. I absolutely had to have the job done by close of business on Friday which was earlier than estimated. Mel Mendez, the owner, realized the scope of my predicament and immediately went into action actually going into after hours while his crew was shutting the shop down and personally completed the dent repair and paint job. The final result was absolutely perfect with no flaws whatsoever. I would have to take a guess that no other auto body shop would care so much. Quality work with a quality owner. That's Mel Mendez “The Body Works”. Thanks Mel.
Tips & Advices
Using a variety of tools and processes, many of which require specialized training, auto body mechanics primarily repair cosmetic and structural damage to vehicles after accidents occur. They can also enhance a vehicle’s appearance and performance by replacing and adding new parts to a vehicle’s body.
This depends on the severity of the work that needs to be done. Something such as paintless dent repair for a few small dents can take an hour. Whereas auto body repairs for damages caused by a major accident can take multiple days to correct.
All auto body parts can be repaired but there is a threshold for the level of repairs possible. Parts can be damaged beyond repair and would need to be wholly replaced.
Auto body parts can be made from a wide variety of materials, usually based on what the part’s purpose is. Vehicle frames body panels, bumpers, roof racks, and other items that need to be strong and durable are usually constructed from steel, which is known for its durability and resistance to rust and high temperatures. But aluminum is quickly becoming a popular material of construction due to its lightweight yet durable nature. Body kits and other aftermarket parts like spoilers and hoods can be constructed from one form of plastic or another.
Yes, the vast majority of car makes and models have aftermarket parts available for many of their components. But higher-end vehicles typically have less aftermarket parts available since they often use specialized materials and manufacturing processes that are difficult to duplicate for many aftermarket manufacturers.
