Moto-Tow Inc.
Pete Petrakis posted on Moto-Tow, Inc.'s timeline "Just when you least expect it!!! My motorcycle overheats today.....i'm stuck in the middle of a long way from home, and #$%^ out of luck. First time ever with this bike.I call my favorite mechanic Corsa motors. Martin who always is (on the money there of any kind to any bike service), recommends a local guy to come help me out...Kirk from moto-tow inc comes out. Nicest guy in the world! Huge huge help today getting her back to the garage. Any of my motorcycle enthusiast friends out there check out MOTO-TOW INC. (727-643-8214) any time you need a bike transport) was out in twenty minutes! Crazy reasonable with his price to tow. And a great conversationalist along the way! Thanks again Kirk!"

Bayou Catering
We used Bayou Catering for our Wedding Reception a few weeks ago and could not have been happier! In particular my wife and I loved the Crawfish Dip with French Bread and the Cajun Shrimp but heard equally rave reviews from our guests on their Jambalaya and House Salad! They served our guests at the tables when something would run out on the line and cleared plates, cups, etc. from the tables throughout the evening, leaving us with virtually no clean up. They decorated their own tables and were the epitome of friendly and downhome, yet professional! We were thrilled and will use them again annually for a family reunion each summer!

World of Beer
The staff is great, but I cringe having to go here for after work social meetings, as it's just not my idea of a craft beer bar. If you're not familiar with the chain, they're basically mall-style craft beer bars, with a good beer selection, okay bar food (but occasionally bad) and the staff is usually pretty good and nice. This location isn't the worst one of these I've gone to, but with so many other beer bars in St.Pete, not to mention great breweries, I'm surprised it can stay in business.

PoFolks Restaurant
I've been going to Po Folks since I was a kid. When they shut down most of them, my heart broke. Discovering that there's one here in Saint Petersburg made me leap with joy! I love this restaurant! The fried chicken cannot be beat! I've never had bad food here and I've never been treated poorly here. The staff is laid back and the atmosphere is just as laid back. For a country girl from Plant City area feeling out of her element in this bustling city, Po Folks always takes me back home. ;-)

Oyster Bay Painting
Dan recently painted our house in Woodlawn, St. Pete and what a refreshing experience dealing with this nice, professional, organized man. We've owned this old house for 20 years and this is the best work we've ever paid for. He did such a great job on our neighbors's house 4 months ago that we decided to let this expert do ours (instead of painting ourselves again). His attention to detail, great work ethic, fair pricing, and personality make him a gem!

Black Forest Cottage
This is a very authentic German restaurant. The crepes, with a topping range from everything from Brie cheese and jam to fruit and herbs, are to die for. The entire restaurant is lined with authentic German trinkets and books, and is quite homey. I highly recommend Black ForestCottage for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Tijuana Flats
If you catch this place when it is not packed it is an amazing place to eat! However, when it is packed you feel like cattle that are trying to get in and out and the staff gets stress. The food is always good, but for authentic Mexican it is not.

Sylvia's Soul Food
Restaurant was very clean and upscale. Our server Jalissa was extremely pleasant and attentive. Fried chicken was delicious and large portions but collard greens and Mac n cheese won me over

This place has something on the menu for everyone! The customer service is great and the food is even better for a very reasonable price!
Tips & Advices
For a long-lasting paint job, a clean wall is crucial. Ask how they plan to clean your walls, if at all, before getting started. A high-quality company will thoroughly prepare a wall so that the paint will lay smoothly and last a long time.
Yes. A well-established company will have more experience and likely more references for you to reach out to than a new company that's just getting off the ground. Be sure to ask for references so you can speak to former customers about their experience working with the painter. When speaking to these people, ask about:
  • Whether they had issues with the crew
  • If the painters were messy or neat
  • How the paint has held up since the project was completed
The quality of the paint will affect how good the walls look when the project is completed. If your contractor says they plan on using a paint you don't like, feel free to request an alternative.
If the contractor makes a point to train new hires on safety techniques as well as quality standards on the job, you're probably in good hands.
Unfortunately, there are plenty of cases where a painter has stolen items from a home or caused damage to the house or injury to the homeowner. Subcontractors may not be as skilled as employees, and the contractor you're hiring may not have much experience working with them, making them more of a risk. Additionally, ask if the painters are employees or subcontractors, and what the screening or hiring process is like.

Just a moment...
