Response to Authur L what this individual doesn't say in his review is this was rebuild only unit the vehicle was never brought to us until after he installed the unit back in vehicle and he never flushed out the cooler lines and then brought us the vehicle back two weeks later after he installed a new radiator and then said he had transmission problems. We warranty all our work but he refused to listen to us when we told him that the damage was already done because he waited two weeks to change the radiator.

They rebuild my 93 nissan tranny had the radiator replaced and the lines cleaned. It was in the car for one day before it starting acting up again removed the pan found metal pieces in the pan took it chris first he said the pieces where from the rebuild and may have come lose left the truck there. been a week our two haven't heard back call to find out. The owner chris first tell me it was because the radiator coolant was leaking into the tranny. I asked him that there was no coolant in the pan when i checked and i didn't see any signs of tranny fluid in the radiator coolant itself then he changed his story to that the tanny line was blocked. BS shop waste of 1K for the rebuild STAY AWAY!!!!!

Low Cost Transmissions
Very poor customer service. Had my vehicle for weeks and is still not fixed. Actually worse than it was when I took it in. And they still expected payment!!!

I walked into this place with an open mind and hope they could find my issue. The tech John did a test drive and told me the possible issue, so after thinking about it I told Dave I would wait on the diagnostic, Thats when the problem started and I soon figured out that this guy is a flake with a complex. I agreed to sit and wait while his guys performed the diag on the transmisson, but he gave me the run down on why that wasnt a good idea and his policy of 35 yrs. So when someone starts talking fast and long stories its time to run far and fast. When a shop doenst want you to wait there is a reason and its not a good one. I gave it a chance and first impression from the guy name dave made it my last visit. DONT GIVE HIM YOUR IMPORTANT TIME. He had no idea who I was and I even told him I was a Air Force vet who served in the desert and had patience, but it didnt matter to him that i had patience. All he was concerned about was leaving the car there for the entire day which i was willing to wait. Lost cause and lost revenue from me.

Pasadena Car Care
The people at Pasadena are helpful, honest, and they give great service. My car is older and I know it has problems so it's no surprise when I learn that it needs work. The mechanics walk you through every option to keep your car running,

Terrible experience and super misleading, lying salesman! I took my car in that was stuck in 2nd gear and having done some basic research told them a trans pressure sensor was probably the problem. They got back to me and insisted it needed a complete rebuild (min $1500) despite me reiterating that the sensor was a well documented problem (front page and all over google). "Our mechanic is a 15 year Chrysler mechanic" he told me. "He says it is definitely not a sensor". He then went on to spew a complete lie adding "And if it is a sensor that would mean your whole ECU was shot and that appears to be just fine".Long story short since I am not a completely uninformed consumer I saw right through the polite and decent sounding lie and told them I would pick my car up to replace the sensor myself! That weekend I did the repair for ~ 100 in parts and am back on the road. DO NOT go here! They are either liars or just terrible mechanics that can't recognize a very common problem! Either way you'll get screwed! I hope I help someone save the 1500 + they will try to steal from you.

This shop will go the extra mile to make sure the repair is done right.Dave and the staff were friendly and extra helpful. I had clutch job done on my 2004 Chevy Silverado2500 HD 4x4 Duramax Diesel Pickup. When I got it back, it had noise I had not heard before. I told the owner, "as a listener to Tom and Ray, I know better than to ignore a noise." He wholeheartedly agreed and took it back in. After not getting much satisfaction from the dealer from whom he bought the parts, he called the factory and, as it turned out, the noise was normal. The reason is because the flywheel was also replaced and it was changed from a "dual mass" to a "single mass" flywheel. The factory recommended replacing the clutch master cylinder, which he replace for free due to the fact that they sent the wrong one and it took longer than promised as a result. In any case, throughout the entire process things were very well explained, and both the owner and mechanics were very courteous and genuinely concerned about doing quality work. Make sure you don't confuse this shop with American Transmission and Air. They are not the same company. This is AAA American Transmission in St. Petersburg on 49th St North.

You must, must, MUST go to this shop! The office guys were so helpful at explaining the issues and offering suggestions for what needed to be done, without being high pressure...made me feel better as a lady who knows very little about my car! The mechanics jumped on the work right away, as they knew I was going out of town that weekend with my car...and they made me a priority :) The owner Kris even drove me to work and picked me up, so I didn't have to pay for a cab! And as a pleasant surprise when I got off work, I found out my transmission repair was not as serious as they thought at first, and they fixed what was wrong for a third of what they quoted me! I wouldn't have known the difference if they had told me or not, but they didn't take advantage of my ignorance! I love these guys....so honest, caring, and professional! This is true service! I will never go to another shop as long as I am living or working anywhere in Pinellas or Hillsborough County!! They are going to be around forever!
