Dragon Star Oriental Foods Inc
Dragon Star is terrible. Don't go there, as they will not refund in case the food went bad.  I bought rice cake like 3 weeks ago and I kept it well refrigerated. I found it went bad and molted this morning and so I went there and asked for a refund or a switch. Well, the manager refused and argued that the food was good at the time of purchase. He was rude and not understanding at all. I asked if I can talk to the owner and he refused and said that the owner is busy. In the end I was not able to get a refund, or a switch. If you ever want to shop there, be prepared for the BS.

Cub Food Stores
This store consistently has expired dairy and and food on their shelves. At least twice a month I get home to find something expired at least 3-4 weeks before. This is beyond all of the items I did not buy because not was expired

Lowertown Foods
IT HAS NOT CLOSED. What a mean thing to post. The ladies running this place over the years do not have "the internet." I guess this is what happens when you do not participate online. We are a fans. Where else downtown can you get a roast beef, turkey, or any of the half dozen sandwiches they have on their menu for only $3.50. Add delicious homemade soup for only a few extra dollars. We are now their new regulars!

Cub Foods
The pharmacy at this Cub Foods location is TERRIBLE! I asked once if they could separate my prescriptions because I couldn't afford to pay for them all at once and the pharmacist (Sheryl) told me that they can't do that. I found out later-after complaining to the manager-that this wasn't their policy. So I had to go without my medication for three days until I could come up with the total owed. So I figured that was the end of any problems after complaining-but no it wasn't. I had to instruct them not to charge my bank debit card on ANY filled prescriptions that I haven't authorized. This went fine for a while and recently they started charging me without contacting me first. This led to a 37.00 overdraft fee on my checking debit card. I complained but NOTHING was done. I finally got wise and changed my pharmacy yesterday.

Trader Joe's
I have become a TJ's fan. Go there. Try the free samples, drink the free coffee and enjoy the small store experience. Learn about the "bunnies" and how kids can get a prize for finding them. Bring your own bag and enter the "bring your own bag raffle".The food is excellent. I stop here weekly to pick up healthy snacks, salads for lunches and entrees for dinner. Go there.

Cub Food Stores
Don't shop there until they get rid of Angie Mory. Got the last name from another employee. She was extremely rude to customers, threw a fit like a small child about having to work on the holiday although they do close early. She tried driving a forklift when employees were telling her she wasn't certified, tried making customers get out of her way when she wasn't bringing anything from the backroom on the forklift. Cub has always had employees who are at least quiet about their disagreements, have always had safe employees and they will help even if they look sullen. She was extremely rude and made me feel it was unsafe to be in the store with her. With today as the rating, I would give this store (which I rarely shop in), a negative rating. I was there one other time and lost a bus card which MTC told me had been resold through Cub's Service Desk. I tried to send a message through the Cub website and you cannot do so. This again is a negative rating for Cub.

This place does NOT only cater to Hmong may appear that way because of the large Hmong population in the Twin Cities. But, how often are you correct about a stranger's ethnicity? Truth of the matter is, this store carry an expansive inventory of products from all over the world, mainly Asia. Everyone goes there...I mean EVERYONE from all walks of life. And as for the smell? Well, I suppose it's difficult to suppress the many different mingled smells of the world. Maybe they should carry cheese to complete the collection of "distgusting" smells. ;)

Just a moment...
