Central Medical Clinic
I've been going to Dr Morales for about a year now. I'm 44 and since I was 19 I KNEW I had some hormone problems. Dr Morales has the experience and knowlege to read my results and work with me on a plan until I felt right. He actually calls me at home. He gives me all the time I need during visits to talk. My life has changed in so many ways in the past year, I cannot begin to express how thankful I am. But, I had to take charge and go through every local MD I knew locally-NONE of which did or had any real knowlege of hormone replacement therapy. They all wanted to put me on a variety of anxiety and drugs used in mental illness. I wasted about 2 years being misdiagnosed by other doctors. See the right doctor who knows which tests to perform for hrt(hormone replacement therapy). I wish I could sincerely demonstrate the different person that I am now.

Brain Balance Of Woodbury
We are a third of the way through a 12 week session. I am thrilled with the results. My 4 year old sees all the traditional therapists ( physical, occupational, and speech) I started brain balance because she was pulling her hair out. No one has been able to help that. I am so happy to say that she has completely stopped pulling!!! Before brain balance she was miles away from being potty trained.. now she is almost there! She is talking so much more and asking a million questions (something she didn't do before) Before brain balance she acted like a serious little adult.. now she is acting like a kid. I have seen so many improvements in such a short amount of time. We drive 2.5 hours each way to go.. it has been so worth it!

Ashford, Melvin
Working with Dr Ashford has been an amazing experience. I struggled for many years with severe pain that I couldn't manage. He was the first person to listen to me and my needs. He was diligent in developing a plan that worked for me! I'm grateful to have been under his car and the rest of the team at the Women's Center. I feel like I'm cared for by everyone there, they all know you and really care how your progress is going. The services offered are tailored for your needs and really treating the whole person not just the initial problem or concern! I would recommend their care over and over again. I am truly grateful.

United Hospital - Patient information
I don'r generally love being in the hospital, but I've been an inpatient here many times in the last 13+ years for varying problems. I have a large number of health issues and I've always been treated very well w/the exception of the mental health department. I wouldn't recommend them for mental health issues because the Dr that attended to me tended to make snap decisions about precisely what my problems consisted of. Other than that, I highly recommend them for any and all physical problems.

Advanced Therex Rehab Specialists
I have been seeing Jan Hanson at Advanced TherEx Rehab Specialists for a few months and I cannot believe the difference. I had severe migraines and chronic pain that I have been dealing with for a very long time and it was affecting my daily routine. Now I get it up in the morning without pain and can function like a normal person! My migraines are mostly gone. It's so wonderful.

United Hospital - Patient information
Both of my children were born here, and both were great experiences. I appreciated the use of aromatherapy and other non-traditional approaches utilized in the birth process.

Tips & Advices
Academic medical centers provide the widest range of specialty care treatments, including the latest technological advances, clinical trials, and surgical techniques. In general, an academic medical center is a better choice than a community hospital for complicated treatments or rare diseases. Pediatric intensive care, especially, is usually performed at academic medical centers.
Academic medical centers offer a broad range of specialized services, from allergists to urologists. Some of the larger medical centers have entire hospitals or clinics focused on a particular medical service, such as cancer treatment, though specialties vary among the centers. Patients whose community hospital or local doctors do not have the facilities or expertise to address complex medical conditions can be referred by their primary care physician or local specialist to a major medical center (there are more than a dozen in the United States).
Yes. In addition to their inpatient hospital services, medical centers can offer a wide variety of outpatient services, such as pain clinics, rehabilitation centers, surgery, imaging and laboratory, mental health treatment, and outpatient cancer treatment. Medical groups – doctors in private practice but affiliated with the medical center--will also have offices within the medical center.
Physicians, nurses, physician’s assistants, residents, and attending physicians makeup the clinical staff of an academic medical center.
Medical center accreditation is not required, but most centers work voluntarily toward accreditation because it represents higher standards of healthcare quality and patient safety.
