Slyman Brothers Appliance Of Hampton
I bought an inexpensive kitchen set from them. They were pleasant and the price was fair. When it arrived, though, one of the items was damaged--fairly severe cosmetic damage--on one corner. They proceeded to install it without asking me first, perhaps assuming that I had purchased it that way, since they do sell scratch and dent sometimes. I noticed it just in time before they left! But when I made a comment, the delivery people only remarked first that it wouldn't show, being a back corner, and then that it must have happened en route to my home, and simply suggested I call and ask for a rebate. It turned out the handle on the other item was broken, not easily seen (to be fair) . They did replace it quickly, but ordered the wrong item. In the end, they sent the right one, and were always pleasant. It could be sheer coincidences--3 at once. They are a family business, do have a solid reputation, or so they said, and have been around in the same location for many years. However: I had another appliance needing repair, not one they sold me. They referred me to an allegedly trusted repair shop, one they knew well...which outright lied to me about a repair, and left me with an unrepairable ruined appliance when previously it had needed a repair but could be repaired. When I told Slyman about this, there seemed genuinely surprised, but not perturbed at all: They expressed only mild apology, and said that the shop was usually reliable, but added that they weren't in business together; they'd just given me a name and were sorry I'd had a bad experience. But actually, they DID recommend this repair person as reliable, well known to them and trustworthy, and gave me his card. I took what they said at face value, as a customer should be able to do: You recommend, then you are putting your company's name on the line, too, and if they make your customer unhappy, you should do what needs to be done to restore your good name; even if it's just apologize profusely, yell at your associate business to make good, and (depending on how bad it is) even break association with the other business, maybe add perhaps some other minor thing like a discount on future purchases, or free smaller repair. As it was, a late-model non-working appliance (freon leak) became unrepairable junk (recirculating system destroyed, no longer just leaking!).

Indoor Comfort Team
We have a downstairs and upstairs, and we notified them that the upstairs one never seemed to cool as well. He checked and that unit had a leak in the coolant line. We decided to replace it after they explained the options with another unit. Installation of new Trane unit, running new lines, increasing size of return vents and putting in duct work for a return in the basement (which we plan to finish off) were included in our price. It also included an Ameren efficiency discount. We have used this company for two years and have always been pleased. They were prompt, and had to return to do the return vent correction (which was the builder’s fault) and all was done in a timely manner and with professionalism. We plan to continue using this company in the future. Member Comments: we were pleased and our upstairs has never been more comfortable. The corrections they have made to our system were spot on. Their professional approach and timeliness were appreciated by us. Two weeks later the temperature was very high, so we really appreciate them finishing in such a prompt manner.

Averill Heating & Air Conditioning
My furnace broke down on a Friday and I had my usual service company come over to repair it. They told me that the furnace was not able to be fixed and their Salesperson came over and quoted me a new system. Wanting a second opinion, I called Averill and they sent over Scott on Saturday to do a Load Calculation and pricing.  They were able to decrease the size of the unit and designed a system that qualified for a Laclede Gas and Ameren rebate totaling $720. I was even more surprised they were able to send Jason one of their service man over that day to get me temporary heat so we were comfortable and allow me to wait till the following Tuesday when I had a day off from work.  The install crew was just as great. They put drop cloths down on my new carpet and kept me up to date during the installation. You could tell that Mike and Chris were a team that cared about their job and my house. I would defiantly recommend Averill Heating to my family and friends.

Indoor Comfort Team
I have hired Indoor Comfort Team twice because they offer the two things that I value most: fair pricing and speedy service. Unlike other contractors, Indoor Comfort Team gives you the best price from the get-go: no negotiating necessary. When I call, I get a call back within a few hours and even during busy times never more than 24 hours from my initial call. Indoor Comfort Team is efficient, thorough, and responsive. Another plus is that Indoor Comfort Team will text and email as well as call to keep you in the loop of service appointments as well as to scan and send documents like proof of insurance. Overall, they are a solid company that I would gladly recommend to others and use again myself.

Indoor Comfort Team
I called Indoor Comfort Team today to schedule an appointment for next week. When I described the problem we're having (in-wall gas unit where pilot light works fine but the heater won't turn on), they explained that I should look for the vent reset button on the upper left-hand side of the unit. Sure enough, that fixed the problem! They could have made over $100 (they charge $108 an hour with a 1-hour minimum) solving this problem next week, but they helped me get heat back today--this shows you the kind of customer-centered, upstanding business they're running! I'm definitely coming back to Indoor Comfort Team if we ever have problems with our heat again.

I got the heating and cooling system as well as duct work changed by Indoor comfort team and wasextremely pleased by the quality of workman ship I received. Dan, was detailed in his explanations and kept my all little requests. The team kept me updated all across the work and off course the work was finished in timely manner. Pricing was also competitive. I would highly recommend Indoor comfort team to anyone for their heating/cooling requirements. I would say at least get opinion from these guys as I believe they give a very honest opinion of what’s wrong and what needs to be done.

Indoor Comfort Team
Your serviceman from Indoor Comfort Team spent an hour troubleshooting my air conditioning unit after it stopped working. I was with him the whole time as he explained every technical, diagnostic step he was taking. I’ve dealt with other air conditioning companies in the past, but I can tell that your guys from Indoor Comfort Team really want to take care of people. Finally, an air conditioning company that understands the benefit of word of mouth. I have already referred three people, and they are glad I did! Thanks again.
Tips & Advices
You can keep your air conditioner running efficiently with some preventative care measures. Shut off the power to your AC before cleaning it or performing any of these tasks:  clean your filter at least twice a year; remove leaves and twigs from cages; clean the fins with a garden hose or special spray, then use a butter knife to straighten any that are crooked; keep your yard clean so the fins won't get blocked; cover the unit up for winter; and make sure it's level or you run the risk of damaging the inner workings of the unit.
To clean your air conditioner drain, first shut off the power to your unit at both the thermostat and the breaker. Then remove the drain pan. If the pan is full of water, soak up the liquid with a few towels or rags or use a wet vacuum. You can use a solution of water and distilled vinegar, or substitute peroxide for the vinegar, to clean out the drain pipe. Let the pipe sit for a while in the solution and then put all the parts back in place. Once you start using your air conditioner on a regular basis, check it periodically to ensure condensation isn't building up.
If you happen to live in a hot and humid area of the country, drainage problems can occur with your unit since moisture can trap itself inside the system. Routine maintenance can cut down on drainage issues by cleaning out any mold or algae from blocking the drain. If you notice moldy smells whenever you turn the thermostat down, check on your system.
If you notice your system is acting inconsistently, the sensor is most likely out of place. Turn off the unit and reach behind its control panel while carefully bending the sensor back into place near the evaporative coil.
Find out where the noises are coming from. A banging or clanking sound could be due to a loose part. If you hear a hissing sound, it's most likely because of a refrigerant leak and you should contact an HVAC technician as soon as possible.
