Ruby Tuesday
First concern is the off smell. A definite odor of something. Food on floor in several places and on both backs. got the sampler platter chicken tenders burnt. Visually obvious but delivered to table anyway. Had to guess what sauces were. Guessing one is ranch but very runny and warm not a good sign to me. How long has it been out of cooler? i commented on mess at booth. The waiter said there was a just at this booth and he would clean it up. Been awhile its still there. Oh look theres a fork down there also. Food finally arrived fries are barely warm. Details over looked such as side items wants and dislikes. Empty dishes from sammpler still here. Wonder why! They are not busy at all. My burger is cold doesn,t taste bad but not great. My beer was good and cold not a hard thing to achieve. Chicken wing still riddled with feathers. Server pleasant but seems very rushed. Again not very busy. There are many better choices within 5 minutes of here thet have similar menu. I will not be returning.

Boosters
I looked up Booster's Cafe after reading about it in St Louis Magazine. As I entered the door I felt like I was back in 1985 in Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire. Why? The owner/managers first opened an American style restaurant there where one could get a real hamburger and fries, pancakes and other food that reminded an American of home. I was elated to find them in St Louis after so many years and the food lived up to my expectations. Gone are the hamburgers and in their place is a breakfast that is out of this world as well as sandwiches, soups and other delights. The carrot-ginger soup was smooth and tangy, although I would have liked a stronger ginger taste, it was devine. I am going back today and taking some of my family because this is a place that deserves lots of business for what it meant to so many Americans abroad and the delightful food they have brought St. Louis! Check it out!

Hodak's Restaurant
Upon walking in to Hodak's, do not expect to be greeted by a smiling hostess. Actually, don't expected to be greeted at all. The bartender did not acknowledge us and several waitress stepped around us. We stood for several minutes before a patron told us where we could be seated. After a long wait in line, a surly waitress showed us to our table. Unsurprisingly, there was no servers in the vicinity. Our waitress finally showed up and actually (gasp!) apologized for our wait and asked to take our drink orders. We'd had plenty of time to look at the menu so we placed our food order as well. The food was pretty good but not worth the hassle. The management at Hodak's needs to realize that customers should be treated well instead of as a nuisance.

54th Street Grill & Bar
54th Street is one of our favorite chains. We enjoy the food most of the time. This particular restaurant is particularly awful. On occasions when we actually make it to a table, the service is always slow. Today, we didn't quite make it that far. When we arrived, we left our name and number with the hostess so we could be texted when our table was ready. We were told 45 minutes. An hour and six minutes passed before we received a text telling us that it would be 45 minutes and they would text us when our table was ready. You can imagine our changrin at being told to wait another 45 minutes! Then when we finally received notification of our table, we kept receiving texts telling us our table was ready. I cannot recommend this store.

Charcoal House
We were pleasantly surprised with our experience with The Charcoal House. After reading the reviews, we had low-mid expectations. But since we live in Rock Hill, we wanted to support local restaurants. When you walk in, it smells great- of char broiled steaks and there is a low level of talking. The decor is a bit dated. But don't look into that too much. We were seated immediately and the server went over the whole menu. She ordered the Filet and I ordered the Ribeye. The meal came with a salad, she had the Cesar and I had the spinach. After our first glass of Cab, we started to get that intimate steakhouse vibe. When I entrees came, they were sizzling. Perfectly cooked to order. We will be back here for sure!

The Feasting Fox
Visiting from out of town, we were a little doubtful of the quality of The Feasting Fox due to quick judgments of the remotely sketchy surrounding area. However, we were in for quite a surprise! The restaurant is a quiet place (with video surveyed parking) with gorgeous antique decorations and comfy booths and tables. Though not every item is German originally, it was all delicious and in generous portions, especially the weinerschnitzel (chicken), toasted ravioli, sausage sampler, and black bean soup. The waiter was very attentive and extremely helpful when discussing food allergens with us and the chef, and even ran after us when we forgot our credit card. The Feasting Fox is certainly a diamond in the rough.

The Cheesecake Factory
I just returned from the galleria location and had a terrible experience. Waitress was fine and the chopped salad was wonderful but had a horrible pasts that my friend and I were splitting. It wasn't hot, the pasta was not cooked enough and it was incredibly bland. Two minutes after we had taken our first bite we told the waitress. She offered to get us something else but we declined as we couldn't stay much longer. However with a little on each plate and most in the bowl with little to nothing eaten by us they still charged us for the pasta. Manager did not bother talking with us and the place was very empty on a Wednesday night. Will be an extremely long time before we ever return.

Monarch Private Event Space
I was a first time customer and very impressed. We had a large group and our waiter, Aaron, was marvelous. I had the oysters - and they were far superior than any I've ever had. Aaron suggested a great wine pairing that I instantly fell in love with. I was disappointed in the pear salad. I had hoped to try the fall salad that was described on their website, but it wasn't on the menu. The pear seemed out of season and tasteless but everything else was delicious. I came back for a second visit and this time I tried the Southern Bistro. This menu is very affordable. The gumbo and those boudin balls were very, very tasty. I am becoming a big fan and plan to go again soon.

Morton's The Steakhouse
Awesome steaks, Awesome service!!! Morton's is a special occasion restaurant for a lot of diners. They treat everyone like a VIP or better yet, family. Food and service are outstanding. The wine list has something to satisfy everyone. Since they were acquired by Landry's, the menu has expanded far beyond steaks so there's something for everyone. I think the happy hour "Bar Bites" menu is the best kept secret in town. A 6 oz. USDA Prime filet served three ways for $7. Are you kidding me! If you work or live nearby this should at least be a weekly visit.

Ali's Steak And Chicken
We live in South City but were driving north to see my mom and needed to grab a quick bite to eat. We would've ended up at Jack in the Box at 367 and Redmann except we passed this place and decided to stop. The guy who waited on us (I'm assuming the owner?) was SO NICE. He let us try some falafel while we waited (it was awesome). The food was good, reasonably priced, and had generous portions. Much of the menu reminded me of the Ferguson Burger Bar (RIP :( ) but then he added his own touches too like the falafel, schwarma, etc. Really good. Definitely will be back!

Just a moment...
