I'm really disappointed in the eulogy Father Gray gave today, which is really a reflection on him and the church. He did apologize and kept admitting how he didn't know much about my father, which he didn't, but that's not an excuse. As in any job, he had time to prepare, to ask people, to learn stories to get to know him to create a proper story as a send away or at least not leave a negative inaccurate review of someone without knowing them. I get where he was trying to go with his story, but it really was just laziness. Not knowing the name of the person, saying there was a "gap" in pictures, which there was not, instead of seeing love in the pictures shown, the amount of pictures shown and the time to put those together and if he even took the time to watch the slideshow the night before, not to mention keep comparing him to criminals . All the people there today know it was lack of you not "knowing him", but please either find the passion that made you become a priest or find something else you like to do because today was someone who just "showed up" and it is a shame because all the people that showed up today will not want to come back. Thankfully we ending on a good note with good stories, but please for the next funeral put a little more thought into it or decline.
Many years ago lost and confused I was stationed at Fort Polk Louisiana. I was lost and confused. I was suicidal my girl friend broke up with me. I was a drunk. I was promoted and busted for some thing. I prayed in my room. Back at Fort Polk Louisiana. For God to be real to me. So I asked God to sent a angel with wings. He never sent a angel with wings. My other prayer that day was if God could help me please get my rank back. Also if he could not sent a angel with wings , could he sent some one to invite me to a church building in the woods in a trailer . Where they play Christian music and could teach me God's word. I got my rank back. I was transferred to another unit. I met reverent Rodriguez and his wife. Now I had a home away from home. Music and home Bible studies every night. I had just re-enlisted to Hawaii. Scofield Barracks Hawaii. I was a helicopter mechanic. I met reverent: Gaylord and his wife. I would go every night to Bible study. Then would invite many soldiers on the base to the home Bible studies. In Wahiawa Hawaii. I mysteriously walked away from God. Like King David. However; Now I'm back. I study the Bible online with : Dr. J. Vernon Mc Gee. So praise God. This may be the church building that saved me from being a drunk and suicide. When in the Army. If so God bless. Grace has been a beacon of hope and light in the St. Louis community for more than sixty years. The cuurch was founded by Rev. Joel k. Davis and his wife Mrs. Juanita K. Davis The currently pastor is their son, Rev. Jonathan K. Davis who is assisted by his wife, 1st Lady Mrs. Felicia Davis.Their goal has been rooted in the making of deciples for. CHRIST.
Hope Church is an awesome church, love the praise and worship as well as the preaching by Pastor Greg Bruce
welcoming and openSt Gerard Majella is a really neat parish. The atmosphere is very welcoming to new comers and most parishioners greeted the strangers to help us feel welcome. I will definitely be back :)
I love this church, they are always warm and friendly and they welcome everyone to come to their services. They are very anointed to bring the Word of God and ministering in song.
