New Testament Christian Church
Many years ago lost and confused I was stationed at Fort Polk Louisiana. I was lost and confused. I was suicidal my girl friend broke up with me. I was a drunk. I was promoted and busted for some thing. I prayed in my room. Back at Fort Polk Louisiana. For God to be real to me. So I asked God to sent a angel with wings. He never sent a angel with wings. My other prayer that day was if God could help me please get my rank back. Also if he could not sent a angel with wings , could he sent some one to invite me to a church building in the woods in a trailer . Where they play Christian music and could teach me God's word. I got my rank back. I was transferred to another unit. I met reverent Rodriguez and his wife. Now I had a home away from home. Music and home Bible studies every night. I had just re-enlisted to Hawaii. Scofield Barracks Hawaii. I was a helicopter mechanic. I met reverent: Gaylord and his wife. I would go every night to Bible study. Then would invite many soldiers on the base to the home Bible studies. In Wahiawa Hawaii. I mysteriously walked away from God. Like King David. However; Now I'm back. I study the Bible online with : Dr. J. Vernon Mc Gee. So praise God. This may be the church building that saved me from being a drunk and suicide. When in the Army. If so God bless. I'm at: agapeusmc.1@gmail.com

KC's Construction and Home Improvement
STAY AWAY!!!! IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A SWIFT, AND PROFESSIONAL SERVICE I WARN YOU... STAY AWAY!Kelven from KC Construction was hired for a kitchen plumbing/ remodel back in early Aug 2014. He seemed like a pretty well-rounded professional when we initially met, but after doing work with him he proved otherwise. Kelven failed to mention that he had a FULL TIME JOB and that he does work on the side(when he has time,) we had a few hick ups which in the beginning it wasn't his fault(insurance check took 10days to clear) however as time went on Kelven took WAY TOO LONG. What could have been done in 2weeks took 2months in counting... and get this... HE STILL IS NOT COMPLETE!! We called and messaged him, he responds late and gives many excuses. Bottom line, when someone pays you for service there has to be an OBLIGATION that the customer is being valued and we weren't.given that.In the end we had someone else to finsih up the job, we were ssooo disappointed. And they wonder why BLACK businesses fail.FYI- I am Black, so it hurts me to admit this fact. Here is my email holtd@wusm.wustl.edu contact me if you have any questions concerning this review! Thanks, Dave.

Studio Branca
I highly recommend Studio Branca to any female or male looking for a great haircut, style, or color service. I've been going to Lisa Mergenthaler for nearly 5 years now, she also goes by Alis (there are multiple Lisa's at the salon). Lisa is an expert in the industry and has been at Branca for over 10 years. She's knowledgeable on products, she's experienced, knows all the classic and modern cuts and color styles, and knows how to make you feel comfortable and confident. I always leave feeling refreshed and ready to show off my new style. My favorite part if the scalp massage in their shampoo room, it's so relaxing! Even though Lisa has a busy schedule at the salon, she always manages to fit me in and work around my hectic work schedule when I'm in need of a service. I've also had other services done, such as a pedicure and waxing at the Spa. Branca is conveniently located, large open space, and cozy. You won't regret going to Lisa at Branca!!!

Donnal's Hair Design
I am VERY serious about my hair...I have been to other places that charge the same or close to it.....I have no idea how anybody could say a negative thing about him or his staff...yes he is brutally honest...but isn't that what true art is about..this guy is a TRUE artist...and going to him is also like a therapy session...he made me look like a star for my wedding..and when I decided to cut my hair short he made it look great and it gave me confidence(actually at my job interview i had 3 positive comments about my new look!)I actually felt guilty about the cut I got and finally sent my wife there today...I don't care if its price is higher..the talent level and his artistic eye is TOTALLY worth it....I will never go anywhere but here again......in this world I like having a stylist whom can not only cut my hair..but gives you insight about life/style....coach peters

Step Ahead Childcare Academy
We were so lucky to find a place like Step Ahead. My son's teachers are amazing! The director is fantastic! The facilities are clean and stocked with books and toys. There is a good sized outdoor area with climbing equipment, trikes, playhouses and more. They have a teacher who plays guitar for the kids, fun activities in the summer and teachers that make a parent feel like they can really trust them with their children. The only reason we have to leave Step Ahead was because my son is special needs and we put him in a school where he can get the therapy he needs all day. Otherwise we'd be at Step Ahead as long as we could! Even though Step Ahead isn't designed for children with autism, my son has made remarkable strides while there. He's become more social, makes great eye contact and initiates play.I could not ask for more! We LOVE Step Ahead!

New Season's Salon and Spa
You don't expect to find a place like this in Ronnie's Plaza next to the House of Rock of all things, but I swear, it's actually a really great spa. I have been getting my eyebrows done by Kristina for years and she does a fabulous job. I have actually had people compliment my eyebrows, tell me I look like I've lost weight, and just say, wow, you are looking fantastic, what's different?? just because I had my eyebrows done by Kristina. I can't build her up enough. She also does facials and is wonderful for those as well. They specialize in all kinds of massages as well, including pregnancy massages which, I have heard, are a wonderful experience for any pregnant lady. Also, they have incredibly clean facilities. I don't even mind getting pedicures here, and trust me, I am easily skeeved by anything involving feet.

Marvelous Looks
I received a coupon for an amazing deal I really thought it was too good to be true, but it wasn't. Yes it took a day to get a call back.. but they called. The decor could be revamped. But Catreena and her staff of family were very pleasant and professional. Her teenage daughter did wash, blow dry and straighten my hair, but she did not do any cutting or coloring. I LOVE my color and my cut. The reason I am giving 3 stars is because the call back was not quicker, there was one LITTLE spot of brown still left in my hair and she didnt ask what color highlights I wanted.. she just went blond, although I do like them.. I would have gone a different route. For $35 I got a cut, color, partial highlight and brow wax.

Preston Salon Spa
I was pleasantly surprised with the service and results at Preston Salon. My stylist was skilled and friendly--she also made my hair look great! The salon itself is small, but trendy and well-maintained, with TONS of great reading material to keep you occupied as you sit under a blowdryer! My only disappointment: After a great consultation with the stylist for the colors and cut that would best suit my hair, the stylist never mentioned the cost. I ended up spending a bit more than I planned. The price was in the range that one would expect for services rendered, but I hate it when the final cost is kept like a secret--until it's time to pay up!

V's Home Renovations & Handyman Services
Vishal was a referral from a friend who has done a lot of work on homes in the area and knows this kind of work well. He said that V was completely trustworthy and very skilled. So, we called him and set up an appt. V called back quickly, came by and thoughtfully assessed our house's list of repairs. He was honest about what he was and was not able to accomplish. His rates were very reasonable (I had gathered two other bids) and he seemed really nice, as well. So we hired him. V accomplished the work on time, without any mess, in a very satisfactory way. We will definitely call him again if the need arises and heartily recommend him.

Fernando's Hair Studio
I have been going to Fernando forever! I have followed him for the past 25 years and it has led me to his beautiful studio at Westport Plaza. I come in for my appointment and am treated with a cup of fresh brewed coffee or tea. He has a beautiful flat screen TV that has entertaining shows playing and you can't beat the laid back atmosphere and great conversation! This salon is NOT pretentious in the least and has a warm and freindly atmosphere. I recommend Fernando's to everyone I know because my hair always looks fantasic and let's face it, nobody knows MY hair like Fernando! Thank you for all of the great hair days!!!
Tips & Advices
If there is ever a dispute regarding payment over the course of the project, a contractor or subcontractor could place a payment claim, or lien, on your property. To avoid this, ask the contractor to sign a lien release, which is a legal agreement that states that any payment accepted is final. This can come in handy if a contractor has his or her own payment issues with their subcontractors. Signing a lien release form certifies that any payment made by a client to the contractor is enough to pay for any goods or services rendered.
Absolutely ask. Paying too much up front offers the homeowner minimal leverage if the quality of work does not meet expectations or contractual specifications. Try to establish a reasonable pay schedule, such as paying 10 percent of the total cost for each 10 percent of the work that is completed. Include this payment plan in the contract, as well.
Before any money changes hands, there should be a contract to sign. Make sure the specifics of the work and all costs are listed in the contract, including details. If you forget to have something included in the contract after signing it, there's rarely a chance of recourse.
Ask the contractor for proof of their certification before signing anything, as well as their proof of insurance. You should also check your homeowners insurance policy to see if they offer coverage for contracted work. You may want to call your insurance provider and ask for more details on what your plan will and won't cover.
Yes. Plans for how the work site will be cleaned at the end of each day as well as at the conclusion of work need to be put in writing. An experienced general contractor should make every effort to keep the workspace clean and prevent dirtying or damaging any other area. Even so, talk with the contractor about the daily schedule, the logistics of transporting workers and equipment, and how cleanup will be handled.

Just a moment...
