Anchor Moving
In hindsight, I should have estimated that we had more stuff than I thought we had, but the problem was we needed to give them an estimate of the number of boxes we'd have 3 weeks out from the move, when most of our stuff still hadn't been packed yet. We guessed way too low, so they were not able to get all of our boxes on the two trucks and we were left to move a bunch of that stuff ourselves, but that was our fault, not Anchor's. I wish that they could have sent someone out to our house to give us a better estimate up front, but they don't do it that way. That's the only knock I have against them.As for the stuff they DID move, they did a great job. We were quoted one 35' truck, and they arrived with two trucks (about 22' each) and an extra man (3 total). They were able to get ALL of our big stuff (furniture and other large junk) on the two trucks, and they did it in less time than I was expecting. They were also very friendly, professional, and respectful, and as far as I can tell, they didn't damage anything(!!). And they did all of this at about a THIRD of the price that we were quoted by Two Men and a Truck. So overall we were very pleased with their service and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a good, local budget moving company.

At Your Service Moving
Very smooth move! We called several moving companies to get quotes. This company is far superior to all the other companies. Wes was the first point of contact that I had. He helped comfort me and gave and me a detailed estimate 1 month ahead of the move. A few weeks before the move he called to confirm the move...again very professional. Lastly, the day of the move, the movers showed up 10 minutes earlier, very clean and professional. They took the time to talk to us and figure our needs our needs. Then they started their job of wrapping the furniture and packing it with care. It was amazing how smooth it went. I will definitely use them again if we move again!

Anchor Moving
Maybe it's because there was some snow on the ground, or maybe it's because they don't get as many jobs in winter and didn't need to rush our move, but I've never seen movers work so slowly. We ended up asking them to drop things at the front of the house so we could carry them to the proper rooms, just to get the thing done. We could have done it just as quickly if we'd called up a few friends. Part of my disappointment is probably due to how highly recommended this company was by friends who had used them - in any case, we didn't have the A team and it cost us. I thought hiring movers was supposed to make it LESS stressful.

Simple Moves LLC
Simple moves just move our family and they were awesome! This is the second time Armon and Carlos moved me/us and they were awesome both times. They listened, were accommodating, and professional at all time...while moving a lot of very heavy items in the sweltering heat. There were several items that my wife was very concerned might be damaged. Carlos and Armon treated all of our belongings with respect and care. AND we had more stuff than we realized and I was afraid after our allotted time was up they might leave...but they hung in until the job was complete. Thank you to Armon and Carlos for a great job! Across Town Moving
I am actually did not move nor have Across Town Moving & Delivery CO. Today, I was driving around town running errands and my battery died at a QT. The owner of the moving company, Antonio, without any questions, took time out of his day and sat out in the cold and jumped my battery. He was as friendly as it gets and I could only imagine how amazing his customer service is as a mover. He refused to take any money or anything inside from the store. Antonio was about as genuine and kind as they come. He gave me his business card and I look forward to using him in the near future for moving.

Abc Quality Moving
I am sorry for the late review......but, I want to thank Greg, Undray, Tarrus and Walt for a smooth move. ABC Quality Moving came highly recommended and I was not disappointed! They arrived on time, we walked through what went and what didn't. They had it all together! They had manners, and were very professional! They even asked if they could use the bathroom.(every time!) Everything was wrapped nicely, not a chip nor a scratch on anything! I bought them lunch, and they greatly appreciated it! I can't recommend these people enough! Thanks so much guys!!!!! Merry Christmas!!!!!

A B C Quality Moving & Storage
Kevin W., Tim H., and Walt helped move me from one apartment to another. They arrived right at the beginning of the time window they estimated and came ready to get to work! They got this move done so quickly, efficiently, reduced the stress on me and kept me laughing, and even helped me finish packing to get all the way completed. This was my first time using ABC, but most definitely will NOT BE MY LAST! I have already been told that when it comes time for my move next year, if the same crew is available, they can try to put them back on the job! ABC is by far the BEST!

Abc Quality Moving
ABC has the best prices in town and GREAT service. Walt and Kevin were extremely efficient with our move and got the job done so quickly. They were super friendly and they handled everything with care. You let you tell them how much you want them to do (totally set up the furniture and take off wrapping, or just continue to move). They moved us in three hours and were even helpful with lending suggestions on where to place furniture to get the best view. They obviously know what they are doing. Thank you Walt and Kevin and AbC!

Abc Quality Moving
Just moved my home from Ballwin to Ellisville on Sept. 6th. Cody and Tarus were the movers and they were both excellent! They were respectful of our things and worked non-stop until all of our items were done (even some add ons we included after the original order was placed). They were courteous and friendly and did an excellent job. This was my first experience with ABC - but after seeing how hard their guys work and their competitive prices, it won't be my last time. I'll be glad to refer others as well. Debbie C.

Abc Quality Moving
I called them on a Thursday and was able to schedule someone for the next day. They (Kevin W & Undray) arrived on time, were very professional and got right to work. We had heavy furniture on the 2nd floor. They took apart the bed, wrapped everything and when we got to the new location put everything back together. It was a very smooth process and they were very efficient and hard workers. Hopefully we wont be moving again, but IF we ever do I would definitely use them again.
Tips & Advices
Yes, it’s best to empty drawers, wardrobes and chests before a move. Items always get knocked around a bit, and doors can fly open even if they’ve been taped. In fact, more often than not, movers will want to remove the drawers from a dresser--or disassemble the wardrobe to be more space-efficient.
Yes, it is customary to tip movers, but the amount varies widely. For full-service moves, a 5 percent tip is suggested, although, for extra service, some people go up to 10 percent . For small local movers, you can give each mover $10 for a few-hour job, or $20-$40 for jobs that take longer.
A bill of lading is the legal contract for the move. It provides a detailed receipt, in addition to a contract between the client and the mover. It authorizes the mover to transport the goods from one specific point to another, and it outlines the exact scope of services, with cost breakdown for those services. It also provides an itemized list of the inventory, and carrier liability protection for each declared item. Finally, it specifies the payment arrangement. Make sure to go over your itemized list extremely carefully before finalizing the paperwork--and get a copy of the full document. A good mover will go over everything on the bill of lading with the customer.
There are several items that moving companies will not move – those items will be listed on a document as “non-allowables.” These items typically fall in three categories: perishables, sentimental/personal items, and hazardous material. Perishables are food and plants. Sentimental/personal value is up to the client to decide, but usually includes jewelry, medical and dental records, personal paperwork, valuables and collectibles. Hazardous material is the tricky category, since it includes a lot of everyday items found in the garage, garden or kitchen. For example, cleaning liquids and pesticides both are considered non-allowable by many companies. Some go so far as to disallow nail polish and batteries.
A binding estimate means that the moving company cannot charge more than the stated amount, though they can lower the final bill if the scope of the job was smaller than expected. A non-binding moving estimate is more likely to wind up costing more than expected, since the movers can increase their rates for unforeseen variables like stairs, “long carry” and materials.
