Pretty Paws Grooming Salon
I love it there! My dog cannot wait to get into pretty paws, Shannon , does excellent job!! She always explains what she does and when we go to pick up she repeats what she said she did and she's very reasonable we love going there and we would never go anywhere else sorry about your experience with your Maltese but it seems like you and your husband keep writing more bad reviews about the same dog

Illusion's Color Spa
This experience was my first time at Illusions. I was extremely impressed with every part of the process. The staff at the front desk were helpful and very welcoming. My stylist Katie did an excellent job and was easy to talk to. I loved my color and will be back again! I loved the salons environment and can't wait to try out the other services they offer there.

Mary's Pet Grooming & Supplies
We've been taking our dogs to Mary's for a number of years now. We didn't know Mary so can't comment on the reviews below. A great gal named Beth owns the shop now and runs it with her husband. It's clean and charming and our dogs are always well groomed and happy when we pick them up! They really seem to genuinely love all the animals and the work that they do.

Illusion's Color Spa
Illusions was amazing! My skin feels so soft and it's glowing beyond belief. Dani and Heather took great care of my mom and I. I even had the pleasure of meeting Marian, who I am assuming is the owner, who was so sweet and thanked us personally for coming in. I will definitely be back for another dermaplaning appointment :)

Pretty Paws Grooming Salon
I brought my beagle there for the first time last Saturday. The place was very clean, the employees were very nice. I thought the prices were very reasonable for what they do. They explained everything they were going to do and made sure it was what I wanted. Very impressed...highly recommend.

Merritt's Puppy Love
My dog and I love this place. We go to Liz, she is great! I have tried several groomers in the Rock Hill/Webster area (even some as far out as West County) and they do the best job. Merritt's Puppy Love is very clean as well, you can tell they take pride on what they do. Highly recommend!

Illusion's Color Spa
I went in on a whim to get my hair colored and cut prior to a family picture after not being able to get my usual person at another salon. I am SO pleased with the results that I plan on switching to Alex because she did such an amazing job on the color! The entire experience was wonderful!

Little House of Dogs
I just Love these folks. They are the absolute best. But, even better, our little Shih-Tzu, Gracie, really loves them. And they are so very good to her. I am praying Kirkwood doesn't make the Little House of Dogs move [as they might all the businesses in that vicinity.]

Illusion's Color Spa
I just got a manicure/pedicure by Rachelle and I was very happy with the result. She was very detailed with both and took her time to make it look nice. Plus, she was very easy to talk to and made the experience enjoyable and relaxing. I will definitely come back.
Tips & Advices
Some pet groomers have viewing areas where owners can sit and watch their pets being treated. Most prevent owners from being in the same room as the pet, however, as the owner's presence might cause the pet to become too excited.
Pets that cannot interact with strangers do not make good professional grooming candidates. Sometimes medication can help, but some groomers don't take animals that have been sedated. If a pet becomes too unruly, a groomer may end the session entirely.
It's best to fully vaccinate pets before bringing them to their first grooming appointment. Dogs should receive the DA2PPC vaccine, which stands for canine distemper, canine andenovirus type 2, canine parvovirus, and parainfluenza. It's also a good idea to vaccinate dogs against Bordedatella (aka “kennel cough”). In fact, New York City requires dogs receive both DAPP and Bordetella shots. Cats, meanwhile, should get the FVRCP vaccine: feline viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirus infection, and panleukopenia. In addition, all pets should be up to date on their rabies shots. Owners should wait at least 24 hours after getting their pet vaccinated before bringing it to the groomers.
Technically, there is no such thing as a pet that is too old for a professional groomer. In fact, older pets with joint or mobility issues often can't groom themselves and need someone else to clean them. However, pets that are blind, deaf, or have serious medical issues might not do well at a groomer, especially if the person is inexperienced. Owners should feel free to ask potential groomers about their understanding of elderly pet issues. Often, older pets will exhibit puppy-like behavior and squirm or yelp during grooming. Alternatively, they might not be able to stand for long periods of time. As such, grooming an older pet usually takes more time than grooming a young one.
Puppies and kittens should be at least 10 weeks old before their first professional grooming session. They should be used to being gently handled by strangers and comfortable being separated from their owners for a few hours at a time.
