The Bankruptcy Company
Talked to like a child. Was told there was nothing that could be done. After minutes in the office the "lawyer"/owner trI'd to better assist. By this time I was upset after being talked down to. This company is clearly about making sure they are paid. At least this guy was. Had two lawyers before this lawyer/owner and I was completely satisfied. However, I am disappointed. I was looking for help due to a recent situation. I never made mention that I didn't want to pay just help until we were able to get on our feet. Truly upset, I will see what the future holds. Somehow he was able to help us breifly. We found that out after the berating session.

Horrible services and the phone just rings and when you leave a message no one EVER calls you back. Do not use them, RUN!! They are not professional nor do they handle their business. I have had it with them!! You pay for what you get! NOTHING!! Also they rip you out of your money.

John C. Caraker, Bankruptcy Specialist
Filing bankruptcy can be a scary thing. My first contact with John was via telephone and after speaking with him, I cancelled my appointment with another bankruptcy attorney. When I had my initial visit, he took the time to explain everything and answer any questions that I had. After my consultation, I felt knowledgeable about the types of bankruptcy and the bankruptcy process. The process was painless. When I got to court I observed other attorneys walking around and calling out/looking for their clients. That was not the case for John and to me, that spoke volumes! He knew me and I knew him. There were several people who had never laid eyes on their attorney and once they met; they were hurrying off to some little corner to discuss what to expect during their bankruptcy hearing only minutes away! Thanks to John, I was prepared and knew what to expect. I have already recommended John to other people.

John C. Caraker, Bankruptcy Specialist
We LOVE John Caraker! If you're looking for a lawyers that is no bull, easy to understand, who takes the time to give you the straight talk about what you're getting into, Caraker is the man for you. He was for us! At no point did we see him check his watch for the next appointment, or 'check the meter' to try to charge us more. In the end, most bankruptcy attorneys are roughly the same cost, but Caraker gives it to your straight from the beginning - no hidden costs, no last minute surprises. Also - he seems to actually GET that you're broke! I'm amazed how many bankruptcy attorneys just don't understand that we don't have a lot of money! He never acted judge-y about our past bad decisions, and he made us feel at ease with the whole process, which is saying a lot for such a stressful thing. (PS: Don't let the address fool you - it's a really nice office in a nice part of town.) Thanks John!

Worse service ever!! They do not answer the phone, the staff is walking around without their shoes on and on social media (Facebook). They lied saying they filed my case but two weeks later I found out they did not. Very sloppy and unprofessional. CHEAPER IS NOT ALWAYS THE BEST ROUTE TO GO!! RESEARCH AND INVEST MORE MONEY TO FIND A BETTER LAWYER!!!

The Bankruptcy Company
They offer a free consultation with attorneys, why didnt you just do that? They probably can't discuss legal matters over the phone.
Tips & Advices
It is prudent, even after all outcomes have been adjudicated, that clients follow-up with their attorneys to ensure the specifics are known, conditions are met and the client is on the right path toward resolving debts.
A common result of bankruptcy filing is a payment plan that is created to eventually discharge the debts that brought you to court in the first place. You should have a conversation with your attorney on exactly what debts you may have discharged, or otherwise reorganized.
There are requirements for appearing at different points in the case. For instance, you will need to be present for the meeting with creditors. If the proceeding become litigious, your appearance may be required. However, filers are not often required to appear in court for every step.
You will need a large amount of documentation, including those that establish your: income, dependents, marital status and work status; previous tax filings; and debts (mortgage, student loans, car loan).
Searching online for a bankruptcy attorney will often turn up results for attorneys in your area. Also ask attorneys you know if they have any to recommend.
