Lemay Animal Hospital Inc
I cannot praise Lemay Animal Hospital enough. I moved relatively close in 1999, and have been taking my 2 cats and 1 dog there ever since. The doctors are all amazing. Dr. Majchrzak is boisterous, funny, kind, and willing to take the time to explain exactly what is going on so that you can understand and make informed decisions. Dr. Taff is quiet, kind, compassionate, and clearly dedicated to his work and his patients. Dr. McCord is funny, kind, dedicated, and devoted to his patients. I have seen all three doctors, and have been happy with all three. In the past year, I have had to put both cats, and my dog to sleep. Dr. Majchrzak put my first cat to sleep, and could not have been more kind, caring, and compassionate. Dr. Taff put both my second cat and my dog to sleep, and he was also amazing, compassionate, caring. They both gave me time by myself, after my babies were gone, to hold them and grieve a bit. While my babies were alive, these three took the best care of them that I have ever had from vets. In addition to the stellar care, they are amazingly reasonably priced. I rave about this place to anyone who will listen. The building is old and not fancy, but if you want vets that will care about your pets and you, and will give you top notch care at a reasonable price, don't go anywhere else.

Everything Pets Animal Hospital
I love this place! I see Dr.Kemp and she is just lovely! She is informative and takes time to pay attention to your pet and answer your questions. She connects with my dog and that matters a lot to me! I saw a male vet here one time(I don't remember his name) but he wasn't into my dog as much and that was a turnoff for me.I love their operating hours and that they offer weekend and late night hours! The only reason I give only 4 stars instead of 5 is the prices. I know everything in west county is more expensive but I feel sometimes the prices are a bit high. I also feel they run a lot of precautionary tests that you don't "need". Of course you can refuse but I treat my dog like a child.(it's only in hindsight I think maybe that test wasn't neccessary)The location is ideal since I live near by. Parking could be better, but overall I LOVE this place! The staff is always nice and always loving on my dog.

Clark Animal Hospital
Clark Animal Hospital provides outstanding veterinary care. The office feels like a home so both the owners and patients feel comfortable. The vets are very experienced and very compassionate when serious medical conditions arise. All the vets are A+ with special call-outs to Dr. Catherine Pennington, Dr. Julie Dobslaw and Dr. Allison Blake. The technicians and staff mirror the vets -- professional, competent, caring and friendly.

Carol House Quick Fix Pet Clinic
I have had great experiences at Carol House quick fix. I have had 3 of my retired show dogs spayed or neutered there and they were totally caring and professional. I refer them often to people seeking an alternative to traditional vet clinics with their high costs. They definitely fill a void and make responsible pet ownership possible to folks of all income brackets.

Everything Pets Animal Hospital
I love this place! I'm a groomer with a senior dog who has glaucoma. Dr. Kronk is very patient and down to earth. He got pickles pressure in her eyes back to normal and now she can live out her days being comfortable and not in pain. He was also very understanding of my financial situation. Take your dog here these guys are great!

Carol House Quick Fix Pet Clinic
I vollunteer with rescues and help animals. I love Quickfix pet clinic because I am able to help many animals and recommend them to many people who can't afford medical as they are very affordable. They help many, many, many cat's and dogs.
Tips & Advices
Most 24-hour clinics do not allow owners to stay with their pets overnight. However, many do have specific visiting hours or will let owners see their pets at any point during the day. In addition, owners can call most clinics at any time for an update on their pet's well being.
  • Important phone numbers, especially those of the the veterinary clinic, the animal hospital or emergency clinic, and the poison control center
  • A book detailing pet first-aid steps
  • Copy of medical records
  • Nylon leash
  • Muzzle (only use if pet is not vomiting and has no difficulty breathing)
  • Absorbent gauze
  • Nonlatex disposable gloves
  • Scissors
  • Tweezers
  • Nail clippers
  • Digital thermometer
  • Sterile saline solution
  • Hydrogen peroxide (to induce vomiting only at the recommendation of a veterinarian
  • Milk of magnesia (to absorb poison only at the recommendation of a veterinarian)
Find a 24-hour animal hospital that provides emergency services within your area. Keep the facility's contact information in a place that's easy to locate, such as the refrigerator, address book, or smartphone. Most veterinary clinics operate on standard business hours and are not equipped to handle emergencies.
Veterinary clinics operate on a smaller scale than animal hospitals. The latter are more likely open 24 hours and provide emergency services. The former generally operate on typical office hours and only perform wellness exams and minor surgeries. Veterinary clinics also do not generally perform laboratory tests on site.
The specifics vary depending on the type of visit. For a wellness exam, bring:
  • Medical records
  • The type or brand of food the pet eats
  • Medication (including flea, tick, and heartworm medication).
If the animal needs medical treatment, the following may be helpful depending on the situation:
  • Fresh stool sample
  • Vomit sample
  • Video of the pet engaging in abnormal behavior
  • Substance the pet may have ingested
