Karma Brew
Karma is my favorite new spot. It is a tiny spot on the corner from an area in downtown that is slowly coming alive. The place itself is quite small, but filled with such character and is very eclectic. I wouldn't recommend going with more than 4 people, only because it is so cozy. If you are wanting something warm on these cold, rainy nights definitely try their mulled wine. It is absolutely delicious and I don't know of another place in Sac that has one on their menu. Great date place because of the ambiance and how intimate the settings could be. I can't wait to go back and get the sangria!

New Helvetia Brewing Co.
I love that Sacramento has local brewery's hopping up everywhere! This location has both outdoor and indoor seating to enjoy the delicious taste of all their beers. Every time I stop in, it appears to be growing in popularity. I also like the touch of all the games, which some make me quite nostalgic for my childhood. Great brews, awesome workers and good location just outside of DT.

Empress Tavern
Restaurant is below ground level and lined with bricks on the inside. Very cool! The food was absolutely delicious, especially the bread appetizer. The drink I had was rare made with alcohol and egg whites! Our service this night was not very good, but I'm sure it was just a fluke.

19 Handles Pub & Grill
This particular location has seen many restaurants and the most current one is "19 Handles", the handles referring to the the lever you pull to draw a beer on tap. Their burgers are great and they serve traditional pub food like fish and chips and Shepard pie. Great beer selection.

Iron Horse Tavern
We love the Iron Horse Tavern! I have eaten breakfast and dinner there on different occasions and have never been disappointed. A couple of favorite breakfast items are the Spanish Frittata or the Tavern Fried Chicken and Pancakes. Both items are delicious and very filling.

Socal's Tavern
When it's 100+ out, I don't have cable and the Sharks are in the Stanley cup, I walk over to SoCals and snag the best seat in the house. Always greeted with a smile and they serve the mixed drinks stiff...just the way I like them :)

The Shrimp Lobster roll was amazing, and the Garlic Shrimp pizza was also great. They stuck the Sea Bass on a bed of barley risotto which was a weird consistency but it had good flavor. Definitely worth it for your dining choice...

There is no accessible handicapped parking for blocks. Makes it impossible to visit downtown and reinforces the gentrification of a downtown who doesn't want people with disabilities to shop, visit or dine downtown.

Really like stingers if you like dive bars this is the place to go! Has older crowd during the day and younger crowd during the night! Pool tables, darts and an outdoor area as well!

Iron Horse Tavern
Have been here a couple of times now and still very impressed. Everything I've had on the menu has been delicious, I highly recommend their pizzas and poke nachos!

Just a moment...
