Country Club Manor
Staff will lie to you to your face about communication. Pretend to do one thing while doing another. The administrator will hang up on you while you are trying to understand what they are doing. If they can't even get admissions done in a reasonable manner (strung me along for over a month of "we'll call you tomorrow" then not calling), how bad is their care? Avoid at all costs.

Eastern Manor
My mother was a resident here for ten years an Maria took wonderful care of her. She treated her as her own mother.

Mercy McMahon Terrace
This is an independent living and an assisted care senior facility. It is rather dated and the apartments seem small and dark. The kitchens are very small because 3 meals a day are provided so you don't really need a kitchen. I toured this with my mother and while she was interested in the spiritual care also offered there, it was very expensive for the assisted living (which my father needed) and they would not have been able to afford it.

Carlton Plaza Of Sacramento
Carlton Senior Living Sacramento is exactly what you may imagine by the name. It is beautiful inside with lots of natural light and tons going on, very grand! Everyone was so friendly and knowledgeable in the time that I was there. I felt like I was part of their family immediately. If you haven't been, I recommend going for a meal or one of their Happy Hours, I know those are my Nana's favorites.

American Red Cross
Great place to take safety classes and volunteer. You want to know CPR if you have children. Costs are minimal.

American Red Cross
No idea what we would do without the American Red Cross and all their volunteers. They help so many people that have lived through disasters.

Wynspring Family Resource
As a nurse who volunteers time to Wynsprings it's my opinion they are very professional. They are. #1 in Sac County Foster Care. Sorry about the person who didn't like their initial assessment. The assessment process is in favor of the children for their protection. The agency helps protect children from both physical & emotional abuse. If CPS is involved someone from an Emergency Room contacted CPS who brought to attention to court judge, who appointed social services to intervene. Wynsprings has very educated & caring Social Workers who each provide a safe haven for the foster children they place into good homes. Follow up visits with both Foster families and birth families. If assessment of birth families is not good then child will remain with foster care until there is proof of no harm to be done to the child. If it's because of parental substance abuse the parents will be denied custody until proof of rehab. All in all this place in very professional and cares about the children the place in good homes.
