Mr V's Towing
I had a positive experience with Mr V's Towing. I got service on a weekend. I didn't have a long wait. He knew his job and did it well. Didn't meet on the best of terms, my car had just broken down so of course I was stressed out, as anyone in my situation probably would be.Afterwards when I looked back, I thought wow, he probably deals with people not in the best situation 90% of the time. He wasn't just professional he was kind, so a big Thanks!

Revelation Diesel Repair Tow
The folks at Revelation were fantastic, coming to our rescue with our pick up and fifth wheel after we were hit by another vehicle while traveling through Roswell. Getting us off the road was a double feat, having to tow first the disabled pick up and then the RV. The owner took us to get a rental car rental, let us stay in our RV a week in their lot until we could get back on the road, and were very welcoming. Their expertise, kindness, and care to make sure we were okay to travel were exceptional! These folks are the epitome of running a business to serve others honestly, fairly, and knowledgeably. Highly recommended!

Competitive Car Care
Guys charge what the work is worth. Its not a pretty setup, as in no fancy lobby, and some of the guys are a bit rough but they are cool guys and i get to watch them fix stuff and they kept me updated on any and everything they found. Ive gone four times for various vehicles and ill come again when i blow the alignment again.

Johnnie's Car Care Center
If you want your vehicle fixed don't use this mechanic. I took my truck in for two problems I was having, 1st problem was my brake lights would stay on even after vehicle was parked and shut off. , Guess what, I get my truck back and the brake lights still stay on. 2nd problem was truck needed new brakes, after they supposedly fix it, the brakes are worse now than when I took it in. Then when you call them to schedule work they tell you to bring your vehicle in and when you do they treat you like you never talked to them before and they act like they may or may not get to your vehicle that day. Bottom line save yourself time and money and go somewhere else.

Mr V's Towing
The man who came to pick up the car (I assume it was Mr V since his voice was the same as the person who answers the phone) was unprofessional from the beginning. He stated that it was going to cost more than a usual tow because we did not tell him what was wrong with the car when we called. I would not recommend him to anyone!

The Driveway Mechanic
I rate this the Driveway -100% The guy running this shop is a sham. He was only authorized to do $240 worth of work . I pick up my truck ,guess how much is the unauthorized bill? $540. Lol he thinks he can get away with it .lol NO. Reported him to the BBB. Do your research "how not to get ripped of by a mechanic". He fits most of the profile. Tons of cars parked outside ,sitting. Be careful. You've been warned.

Hawk's Service
What a fantastic find!! A local saw us in a parking lot with out hood up and handed us their card while we were travelling. They had us back on the road fast even though it was not a quick or easy fix. They were thorough, friendly and scrupulously honest. I believe they undercharged us for what they fixed and they were completely professional. I can't say enough good things about this place. And the coffee was pretty good too.
Tips & Advices
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill. The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done so you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage.
Yes. Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop.
