We got a new puppy and had no idea where to go for obedience lessons. Getting food at Petco one day we noticed they hold classes, so we signed up for the puppy 1 classes. In 6 weeks, our 5 month old puppy has learned so much through positive reinforcement. She now knows her name, sit, stay, off, come, stand, down, roll over, wait, leave it, drop it and is working on loose leash walking. Marie is a great trainer. They also have free puppy playtime where you can bring your pup in for socialization. I certainly recommend this class. Plus, Marie has been helpful in answering any additional questions, as well as, giving us suggestions to keep our pup occupied while we are out.

We got my son a fresh water fish tank for his room two years ago, and I knew NOTHING about fish. The friendly people at Petco in Roseville guided me in purchasing the required supplies and they did not try to oversell. We purchased a 5 gallon fish tank with a few accessories, and my son loves it. Over the last two years, we have of course had to purchase new fish here and there, as they don't last forever. Every visit to this store has been great, with friendly service, and the staff is always patient with us.

Definitely the place to go for pets! The dog training classes are worth the investment for you and your dog. My puppy took part in the Puppy 1 class and has learned so much! The staff here is very friendly and knowledgable and is willing to go the extra mile to find out more information, if needed. We were having difficulty with "down" and Michaela (our class trainer) found different strategies to employ in helping my dog learn this command. It worked! We'll definitely be back for future classes!

My family and I bought a English Bulldog from this petland store last year. The store was spotless, puppies clean and healthy with clean cages, food and water bowls. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Our dog has no health problems and never has. She is in perfect condition, beautiful dog. A dog that we NEVER would have found at any breeder. It's really a shame that this store closed. I will miss it as well as MANY people will.‎

Incredible Pets
We love to shop at smaller business! But don't let the size full you...Incredible Pets has everything to keep our 2 dogs, cat and snake all well taken care of. They offer a rewards program that gives us our 11th bag of dog food for free. It is conveniently located next to Trader Joe's so we can shop for human and pet food all in one outing! :)

Petco has a big assortment of products available for your pet. I foster animals for the SPCA and can usually find what I need at this store. However, I haven't found much of a benefit to their Pals program. I would expect a greater discount for frequent shoppers or for shoppers purchasing for charitable purposes.

Incredible Pets
The finches had stopped coming to our outdoor feeder, so I talked to a staff member at Incredible Pets and aked for suggestions to help lure them back. She was able to suggest several things to try, and fortunately one of them did. We now have finches, sparrows, Doves, a few Jays, and some others that baffle me.

It's really frustrating when you go to a store for a specific item and they are all out. I was told they get deliveries everyday but I've been checking for this particular item for a couple of weeks and they have yet to replenish their stock. Great customer service though so I'll continue going there.

Great store. A little pricey. I heard you can return chew toys/bones that your dog won't chew. I haven't tried yet. The one thing I don't like is that I conveniently get my pals coupons right AFTER a visit. I think they do this knowing that I won't use it because I just spent $100 on dog food.

This store is good for most pet shopping needs. We go there often when in that neighborhood because the employees are friendly and they have a lot of pets to look at. It's always entertaining to see the small animals. They have good prices, good sales and the store is clean.
Tips & Advices
Pet owners usually sign a waiver stating that any injury or illness a dog suffers while at daycare is the responsibility of the owner. However, most facilities carry liability insurance and pet business insurance in the event of a serious incident. To prevent illness, facilities are strict about requiring proof of vaccination and general health from a veterinarian prior to accepting a dog. However, in an off-leash setting, scuffles or fights might occur. Reputable facilities will often hire vet assistants who can treat minor injuries and under-the-weather dogs.  For anything more serious, a good daycare should make it a priority to get the dog to a vet, and get in immediate contact with the owner.
