Farmers Insurance - Gilbert Cohen
You couldn't ask for better service from an insurance company for your home and auto coverage. Gil and his associates have been 100% professional and responsive to all of our insurance needs over the past 20 years. Through several automobile accidents and claims over the years (even a couple from when we were traveling out of state), I am even more confident that we made the right choice when we went with Gil all those years ago. Personalized service and attention to detail always win out!

Liberty Mutual
Liberty Mutual offers a competitive rate. For us the best rate we could find with good service. Our agent was Sophia Alvarez she was friendly and made sure to give is the best deal. I did not give 5 stars because now that she is gone from the company and into real estate I don't know who our agent is, I get different people who are still friendly but the rates continue to increase constantly. This is for auto and homeowners insurance.

Mike Eldred - State Farm Insurance Agent
I have always had State Farm auto insurance since I began driving, and I have always loved the service. Until I moved to Roseville and found a new agent. The agent retired soon after and I was lost in the shuffle. Then I decided to give another agent a try, and found this one! They all are really nice and follow up with me often via phone or email. I have my great service back and even added a life policy! Very happy overall!

Liberty Mutual
When purchasing our home and still keeping our old home, I contacted Liberty mutual to switch our policies to the proper coverage on both homes. Somehow, they ended up cancelling our policy instead and it took 3 other, very long, phone calls to set it all straight. As for their coverage when something happens, thankfully, I wouldn't know so cannot answer that.

Horace Mann Insurance
I have been using Horace Mann insurance for about 5 years now. These guys have always been super helpful and always made sure to answer all of my questions. They offer automobile, life and renters insurance. I found them when I was student teaching, and they normally cater to educators, but anyone is able to enroll with them, and the rates are great!

Allstate Insurance Agent: Julie Domenick
I have worked with Julie and her team for years. They are all very helpful and knowledgeable. If I need anything from them or have issues I know that they are going to pick up the phone when I call and if they can't help me right away I always get a call back. They are a team that actually care about their clients and look out for their best interests.

Mike Eldred - State Farm Insurance Agent
We have used State Farm Insurance for the past forty years or so. They have always been very helpful in insuring all members of my family. This was especially helpful when our children became first time drivers. Finding the best policy for them could have been challenging, but with the guidance of State Farm agents, options were very well defined.

Liberty Mutual
I'm not sure what office I deal with but Liberty Mutual has done a good job of answer all my questions and explaining the steps of the process. Luckily I haven't had to use then except for a time I ran over something and the something damaged my car. At that time they never gave me a hard time and were always very nice to work with.

Horace Mann Insurance
This is an insurance company that works hard for teachers. Their prices are very comparable. I have my cars and home insured by them. The agent is always there when I need questions answered. They have a great online service. Claims are taken care of with efficiency. I haven't had a company yet that can beat their prices.

Tips & Advices
There are many different providers and plan types, so  shopping for life insurance can be complicated. The first step involves understanding the type and amount of life insurance you need. From there, use online tools or contact local insurance agents to get quotes on rates and learn about how to apply.
The cost of a life insurance policy is determined by two things: the guaranteed benefit amount and the individual risk of the policyholder. The latter is more complicated, and includes many  factors, including health, age, and  occupation. As of May 2017, a 30-year-old woman purchasing a 20-year, $250,000 term life policy can expect to pay about $141 per year. For comparison, a 60-year-old woman purchasing the same policy can expect to pay $1,033 per year. Since women have longer life expectancy on average than men, the latter can expect to pay slightly more. The same 20-year, $250,000 term policy will cost a 30-year-old man $156 per year on average.
Certain specialized policies may provide income replacement in the event of disability, disease, or another situation where it may be impossible to work and medical expenses are high. One common alternative is known as an “accidental death and dismemberment” policy. AD&D policies work similarly to term life plans, but will only pay out death benefits when a fatality is caused by an accident, or if the policyholder loses a limb or the ability to see or hear. Death from a heart attack or cancer, for example, is usually not covered by AD&D, but these policies might offer lower premiums than a standard term plan.
Many adults with children choose to buy a term life plan that covers them from the birth of a child until they turn 18, which is often the most cost-effective way to insure against the risk of income loss from unexpected death. While it  is possible to save enough cash or invest to provide even more funds in case of such an emergency, investing is subject to more risk of loss than a life insurance plan, and accumulating enough savings to provide a sizeable safety net can be difficult.
Whole life and universal life plans are each considered a type of “permanent life insurance.” Universal life is often similar in concept to whole life, but offers more flexibility in premium payments and cash withdrawals. For example, you might be able to temporarily pause or reduce premium payments at any time under a universal policy. It’s also often possible to borrow from what you’ve already paid into the plan or against a guaranteed death benefit in the form of a loan.
