Handyman From Heaven, Inc
I hired them to install trim and base molding in my living room. I let them buy the materials which was my first mistake. They are claiming that it took over 2 hours to purchase and load trim and base molding for one room, on their truck. Then, I was charged for the materials before I was shown the original receipt, which when I requested to see it, coincidentally had additional charges "from the truck" added that I was never informed of in advance, that made the receipt equal the amount that I had been charged. Then, though I was scheduled for two afternoon appointments, the contractor said that he would arrive earlier, each day, only to not show at all, due to morning appointments, and asked that I reschedule for 2 days straight. Luckily, I was on vacation. Then, I was told that clean up, after the job is done, is also billable, even when it only includes his packing his tools to leave ( I am the one who voluntarily cleaned up). I told them that it doesn't take 2 hours to order materials and load it on a truck. I also told them that customers should be presented with an original copy of the materials receipt when payment is requested. Finally, the contractor repeatedly took calls related to another job while on the clock. The company ignored my mention of this, as well as why customers are expected to pay their contractors to clean up (nothing was hauled away nor swept up by the contractor). Finally, though I enjoyed listening to his stories of Christian testimony, stopping work to tell them is also time for which I was charged. Their time starts when they walk in the door, and they want the money for the initial 2 hour labor charge upon arrival. I was pleased with the work, and they did send a helper for free for 3 hours so they would not fall behind schedule ( after I told them that I could not afford to pay for a 2nd person).

X-Press Contracting.Com LLC
I had contacted X-Press Contracting. LLC to come view my property and give me an estimate on a full renovation. First they sent out an Michael, who was unfamiliar with the type of rehab I was doing but tried to take notes and ask questions. He seemed to have an overall pleasant demeanor. Due to Michael's inexperience, Robb had to come out an view the property a few days later. Robb was supposed to be the expert on the type of renovation I was doing. Robb showed up 30 minutes late for my appointment, did not call or text to inform me that he would not be on time. The meeting was good and Robb did seem to be knowledgable. I asked him about the use of subs and he said that subs do all the work for him. I asked if he would be open to working with a sub that I had already hired and he said that he would. He explained to me that the company also offers Project Management services, so that I could use them as that instead of the full General Contractor. Robb then told me to expect an estimate by Wednesday of the next week, we met on a Friday. I wrote them an email a week after failing to receive the estimate on the Wednesday it was promised and was told that the only was they would work on my project was if they were the GC and used only their subs. Obviously this was different than what I was told in the meeting but I wanted to see the price that would be quoted to me. I agreed and asked for them to send me the estimate, which I still have not received. I would be leery of hiring them due to misleading claims. The refusal to work with other contractors is also concerning. I have a family member who does similar work and he said to never work with a GC who refuses to work with subs that aren't theirs, that is a huge red flag. Everyone is allowed their preference but that typically means the person/company is shady. I also had to chase them down to get any information on the estimate, so if hired I would probably have to chase them to do the work.

Recently I was able to utilize the services of Handyman from Heaven. They installed two ceiling fans and a thermostat for me. The technician was prompt, efficient and a hard worker. In no time everything was complete. Stephen and his company stand behind their work too. When I had an issue a few months later someone came out the day after I called and fixed the issue for me. I would recommend Handyman from Heaven to help with any issue one might have around the house.

Handyman From Heaven, Inc
After having three different companies either not show up and / or give outrageous estimates, I finally contacted Handyman from Heaven. Stephen sent Thaddeus out that very day to look at what had to be done (window replaced / attic cleaned out / attic vents replaced) as well as go over other things we'd like to have done in the future. Before the end of the day, they sent an estimate on all of the jobs. We went over what we could afford and the very next week, Thaddeus and Greg (? - I think that's his name - but I know my dog really liked him) came out and completed all of the jobs. The entire staff couldn't be more professional, friendly, polite, honest and genuinely concerned about the job they were doing. In short, they treated OUR house like THEIR home. We will be contacting them in the future for any of our large and small home improvement needs.Thank you Stephen and your incredible team for helping to make our lives easier, providing amazing customer service, and treating us like your most valuable clients. ~ Dan & Rebecca

I hired Handyman for Heaven with multiple big and small items to be repaired. As a single MOM with sons, many items break and many items in the house had wore out. I was afraid to hire anyone because friends were fast to state ''That will cost a fortune'' ''You never know if they will show up and who they might send'' Well, with Handy to Heaven there was continuous phone contact prior to arrvial. Jeveir arrived timely on a bad weather day. We discussed my needs and he went to work. He went out of his way to understad my needs and do the work. He worked queitly, politiely, cleanly, and skillfully for 6 hours. He acheived all my projects in a very professional manner. Jeveir did better than I would have ever expected. Handyman from Heaven are true professionals doing excellent work at a ''reasonable cost''. Thank you Stephen and Jevier. Linda R

We had a tile backsplash installed by Leon from Handyman From Heaven. He did a wonderful job. His timliness (even early), attention to detail, and personality all exceeded expectations. It was certainly a tedious job and he even offered to come back on a Saturday to finish the work for us. It looks beautiful. Stephen, the owner, couldn't have been more helpful with setting up our appointment and constantly making sure we were satisfied. He even stopped by the house to introduce himself! Top notch company, use them for any of your handyman needs!

Handyman From Heaven has been great! I have used their service a few times now. Stephen recently sent out two men to my home for a day. I was very pleased with how well they worked together as a team and that they went above and beyond what I asked. I have purchased two of their gift cards and gave one of them to my boss. Definitely a great gift idea! I highly recommend them.

Handyman From Heaven, Inc
I have used Handyman From Heaven for several home projects. They have always been professional and courteous and did a great job. I have had them perform drywall repair, interior painting, and some exterior work. The workers were on time and finished in the time quoted. Additionally the job was done for the price quoted with no aggravating add on hidden charges . The owner, and staff are a pleasure to deal with in scheduling each job at a time that was convenient for me. I will use Handyman From Heaven in the future and would highly recommend them
Tips & Advices
Keep the following tips in mind:
  • Do not operate any electrical equipment while sitting or standing in water.
  • Don't overload extension cords or surge protectors.
  • Put caps on your electrical outlets if you have small children.
  • Call an electrician if you notice your sockets or switches are warm to the touch, discolored or if they make noise.
  • Keep electrical cords away from stoves, ovens and other sources of heat.
  • Do not use an appliance that has a frayed cord.
  • Do not staple extension cords into place or cover them with carpets or furniture.
  • When using extension cords, make sure to unwrap them before plugging them in.
  • Don't overuse extension cords. Have an electrician install extra outlets if you need a power source closer to you.
  • Only use light bulbs with the correct wattage for your lamps and light fixtures.
  • Contact a licensed electrician if you frequently blow fuses, since this can be a sign of an electrical wiring problem.
  • Have an electrician look at your fuse box to ensure you have the right size fuses and circuit breakers. The wrong size fuse or breaker can be a fire hazard.
  • If you have fault circuit interrupters installed in your electrical panel, make sure you test them at least once a month by turning them on and off.
It can cost from $40-$100 an hour depending on the job. This does not include additional costs for parts or trip fees. Make sure to ask in advance what they charge for or if they will provide a free quote.
In order to become a full-fledged professional, a person must undergo an apprenticeship with master and journeyman electricians. An apprentice needs 8,000 hours of practical work before graduating to the journeyman level. If an apprentice reaches journeyman status, he or she can complete most electrical work, but cannot design it until completing more testing along with 2,000 more on-the-job hours.
Yes. While all electricians need a license, not all of them do the same types of jobs.
  • Outside: These types of electricians work outdoors on electrical lines that connect to power plants.
  • Inside: Inside experts typically focus on commercial and industrial buildings that require a lot of power.
  • Residential: Residential electricians work with low-voltage systems and wiring to install fuse boxes and light fixtures.
Watch out for contractors that greatly underbid other electricians. If the price seems too good to be true, it probably is. Also, always remember to get the estimate in writing before settling on a company.
