Dr. Raymond Howard III, MD
First of all, let me say that the nurses here are so very friendly and helpful! My appointment with Dr. Howard, however, was hurried, brief and rushed. I was handed a printout even BEFORE the examination regarding TMJ, which I was diagnosed with after a short glance in each ear and as an afterthough, my throat. I was prescribed an ointment and told that it should clear up the problem, which it didn't. 3 weeks later after a 5 minute followup that cost $105.00, I was told I'd have 'better and worse' days, and to take ibuprophen. I called a week or so later to see if there was a stronger medication that could be prescribed for the 'worse' days, but was refused. Oh well, I guess I'll just stick to the hot compresses.

Rome General Practice PC
After my initial visit I paid quite a bit of money to loose weight for a course. I was very happy and pleased. I lost the lbs as I was told that I would but then the Dr. passed away. I am upset by this as well as the staff. But after numerous phone calls I am not getting any answers. I cant get any prescriptions, and I cant get any medications. The initial visit when I paid was suppose to be for the duration but it has not been completed because there is no Dr. to see me. I just want someone to tell me if they intend on getting a new Dr. in the practice or if I can get a partial refund of my money.

Louis Spencer MD
There isn't a doctor around that can beat the outstanding medical care that Dr.Spencer and his people working for him at Spencer Medical Care in Cartersville, GA deliver and there hasn't been one time that I have been there when I wasn't treated with the upmost respect and in a friendly manner and he always has a smiling face too. I have been his patient ft or over 3 years now and followed him to Cartersville along with several friends of mine to his new practice in Cartersville from Rome, GA. THANKS!!!

Haley James P MD
What an amazing doctor! I have been going to Dr. Haley since he delivered my first child and I absolutely love him and his staff. He is always so kind, knowledgeable and professional, and he has done so much for me over the years. He goes above and beyond what a regular doctor will do for you, and I am so blessed to have him as my physician. I highly recommend him to everyone I know.Kim

Dr. Raymond Howard III, MD
Best doctor ever. He spent extra time explaining everything to me until I understood my problem and treatment. He was able to solve my medical problem when no other doctor could. I'd highly recommend him to everyone.

Tips & Advices
A child should see his or her pediatrician frequently during the first few years. Once the child reaches age 3, parents should schedule a doctor's visit at least once per year. Before that, however, the American Academy of Pediatrics suggests parents arrange visits according to the following schedule:
  • 2 to 5 days old
  • 1 month old
  • 4 months old
  • 6 months old
  • 9 months old
  • 12 months old
  • 15 months old
  • 24 months old (2 years)
  • 30 months old (2.5 years)
No, parents should call 911, an emergency physician, or a pediatric emergency physician if a child suffers an acute illness or injuries. Doctors in these fields are more qualified than pediatricians to handle emergency situations.
A well-visit is a routine visit with a pediatrician to track a child's development, discuss medical or emotional concerns, and receive immunizations and medical advice.
Yes, pediatricians provide immunizations for infants and children up through 21 years.
No, pediatricians do not have to be board certified. They're only required to have a state license. However, certification indicates a dedication to studying pediatrics beyond the requirements.
