La Frontera Towing & Repairs Inc.
We recently visited Rogers and became stranded when our truck broke down. We called 6 emergency tow numbers, 5 did not answer and one could not help us. This business was the 7th number we called, he came as promised, towed us to his shop, offered to get us lunch, fixed a major engine issue, and charged the most reasonable price I have ever encountered for towing and repairing an engine problem. Words will not express our gratitude for their honesty, expertise, professionalism, promptness, hospitality, and price fairness. I can't say enough about how good our experience was.Paul & Kathy

NWA Auto Shop
I have taken my vehicle here on 3 separate occasions. Their rates are very reasonable and the staff is very well qualified. Kevin does a good job explaining to me exactly what is wrong and gives me options for repairs. He even allows me to purchase my own parts and bring them in, which saves quite a bit of money versus most other shops in NWA, who have a 30-50% markup on list price for parts. The most important thing to me is that they charge actual time to repair instead of the book rate. For example, if you need a tie rod replaced, most shops will charge you a flat rate of 1.5 hours. NWA Auto Shop charges actual time with a maximum of 1.5 hours. This means that if the mechanic completes the job in 45 minutes, you are only billed for 45 minutes instead of the full hour charged by other shops. If you go anywhere else first, get a second quote from Kevin and his team. You will be pleasantly surprised! Don't forget to ask about their military discount and be sure to tell Kevin that Shannon sent you!

He does a great job. He explains what he believes is wrong - what he will to to fix and pricing is given. I have older car that needs loving care and this is where she goes.

NWA Auto Shop
I have found the last honest mechanic in the country. NWA Auto Body. Not only is this guy amazing, he provided a complete system scan of my car for free and 50% off labor and parts at cost all because I'm a Veteran. If you have a veteran in your immediate family he offers the same deal. I won't ever go anywhere else. And talk about customer service. I felt like family. He let me watch the whole system scan, checked everything from the electrical to the pressures, and even the timing. Reset everything for me and got me back on the road in no time. He sells parts at cost (his cost) if you're going anywhere else you are paying too much.

Castor's Car Care Ctr
I have taken my car for service here and the work that was done was professional and at a fair price. I restore antique motorcylces and vehicles, and I am a mechanical engineer by trade, so I have a very good grasp of the scope of work that needs to be done and as to what parts are needed to do it. I work a lot and do not have the time to do the alignments, service repair, and other work to my car because I like to work on the restorations with any of my free time. I have had Castor's do all of the work and have not had a problem. I have moved back to chicago, and my son is attending University of Arkansas. I have him take his car here anytime it needs to be serviced, because I know that the work done will be quality and at a fair price.

Tips & Advices
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill. The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done so you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage.
Yes. Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop.
