We went to this restaurant for the first time just before Christmas and was fairly impressed with the menu choices. The sea bass in a cherry reduction was VERY good. Gourmet pizza selection was good and they do offer a gluten free pizza option which is appreciated HOWEVER the gluten free pizza is so damn small it's an insult for the price!!!! That was one of the disappointments to an otherwise good experience. The other disappointment is that typically in a finer dining establishment, the very annoying sports TV'S aren't present!! If that's your preference, go down the street and eat at a crappy Chili's or STAY HOME!!! This restaurant has 2 of them in direct proximity to the dining area and VERY annoying when trying to eat or converse with others. Would I go back? Maybe, but not guaranteed. I'm kinda weird that, when I drop $200 on a dinner with friends, I like to have everyone leave satisfied and not deaf from the noise. Granted a lot of the noise was from the dining crowd itself but it detracts from an otherwise good place to eat. P.S. Internet menu doesn't reflect the actual somewhat limited physical menu.

Culpepper's has been a staple in Rockwall for many years, but it has not been until recently that they have been taking the new fine dining popularity that has boomed in the DFW area seriously. They re-vamped their whole thought process, and instead of just being another steak house in a cool building, they have really set themselves apart. As far as Rockwall goes, there is nothing else like it, and there is no other dining that can even come close to Culpeppers. As far as the DFW area goes, I would place Culpeppers in my top 10 restaurants in the DFW, and it is in my top 5 Steakhouses for sure. \r The executive chef, Chad Bowden, has really taken Culpeppers to new levels. I have come to know him over the years, without any connections or previous relationship, because that is what kind of chef he is. He cares! He has passion for his craft, and takes a lot of pride in making sure he is doing the best for his customers. There is only one other restaurant and executive chef in the DFW area that shares the same passion and relationship with the customers, and that is Richard Chamberlain at Chamberlain's Steakhouse. I am not crazy and I do not gain any benefits from touting Culpeper?s, but I did just put Chef Chad Bowden and Chef Richard Chamberlain in the same category. (If you don't know who Richard Chamberlain is, you need to go educate yourself, before you review anything) These two chefs exemplify the time, and effort and passion not only they have for food, but for the customer service and being the actual face of the restaurant, and being there in person to make sure everybody is having an excellent dining experience, and that is what separates them from everybody else. The extra step they take to ensure you are experiencing something different.\r At Culpeper?s Chef Chad, not only will prepare special off the menu creations just for you, but he will come out and check on your dinner every single time we are there. If it is not perfect to his standards, he will not send it out.\r What can you say about the food other than, very well versed, and very quality controlled. The quality of ingredients is superb, and the skill and craftsmanship in the preparation is expert. The menu is routinely changing to keep pace with new ideas, and seasonal ingredients. There are few steakhouses around where you can have a choice between a wonderful steak, luscious fresh seafood, and ingeniously prepared wild game all on one menu. Not to mention the sides and the sauces are a work of culinary art for your taste buds that accompany the entrees as perfect as a symphony. \r \r If you have not tried Culpeppers you should!, If it has been a while since you have been there, go back now!, if you are in Dallas, and want something different, but not sacrificing quality and atmosphere, take the 20 minute drive east and make it a night. Go eat at Culpeppers, have some drinks next door lakeside at the Harbor, and go catch a movie right next door at a beautiful theater. If you really want to take it up a level, just stay at the Harbor Hilton Lakeside for a nice little local vacation, and a warranted change from the boring Dallas same old same old.\r \r All I can say is it has more tradition and legacy than most places, and the menu and service absolutely live up to both in a very (modern bridge to traditional) way. \r \r There are a lot of great chefs in the DFW area, and there are a lot of very notable chefs right now in the DFW area, who have made a ""celebrity"" name for themselves. But a chef like chef Chad (and Chamberlain) are a rare breed. A rare breed that actually is there day in and day out, and takes the time to interact with their customers. There are a lot of people that can cook great food and come up with creative menus, but very few of those can say that they take an active role in providing each customer with a complete dining experience.\r

Best Burgers in the Dallas area. Best customer service, best home town feel. The girls at the place are on a name-to-name basis with the regular customers. The owner is frequently there, and he knows most people by name. This restaurant feels like home, only with MUCH better burgers. Try the fries, the onion rings, the awesome fried mushrooms, the awesome fried pickles, the awesome fried jalenpenos (all are AWESOME with the homemade ranch). You've got to try this place! Everything is cooked there, nothing is shipped in already fried and ready to be heated. I cannot stress enough, try this place. It's worth the time!

We just got an order delivered that was so delicious. Chicken parm, Spaghetti with meatballs, and Magio's special with Alfredo sauce. The best was the extra marinara, it was robust with fresh garlic and tomatoes.. I loved dipping my garlic sticks into it. Will come back again. Best place in Rockwall hands down

I go about once a week, usually on the week-end, so the food is constantly fresh, during the week the food can be a bit on the cold side, but that is with most buffet's during off peak hours.\r The variety is great, the Habachi grill is well worth the few extra minutes, here you can choose you veggies, meat, noodles & the level of spiciness.\r I also found the sushi to be quite good.\r Special mention goes to the Jalapeno Chicken, it really is to die for!\r I will continue going back!

I have been to this location twice now, the first was a saturday night at 9 PM. Me and my dining companion did not have to wait for a table. The server immediatly came and asked for our drink orders and I had questions about the alcohol drink menu they have so many choices, the waiter then gallantly informed me he will tell the bartener to make a perfect drink for me. He came back with a chocolate martini a perfectly mixed drink and choice! My dining partners soda never got fully empty and was refilled at every choice moment. I was very impressed. The black bean dip they bring with the wonderful salsa is very tasty as well. Another point i was very impressed with; after giving our food orders the meals arrived in litereally five minutes. Wow! For my meal I ordered chicken crispy tacos, outstanding!!! the chicken wasn't dry as it usually is at other resturaunts and full of flavor they give you a huge side of cheese to dress your tacos with. Also the rice is unique from other mexican places very good and fresh. My other experience was New years eve at 7:30 there was a 30 minute wait but once we got out table the food was once again out promptly.

The service and food were amazing from start to finish! The restrooms were clean as a whistle! No overflowing trash cans or dirty mirrors. The server approached me with a genuine smile. She was knowledgable of the menu. Also she made a suggestion based on her first impression of me -BINGO! The manager was in tune with the guest and truly appeared to care if I were satisfied!!Amazingly wonderful food and service. I'll drive back to this one! WTG!

We went here for the first time as we didn't know they were here and wanted catfish. It is kinda hard to find as it's in the back corner of a non descript older strip shopping area. Looks are deceiving!! While not a lot to see from the front, the food and smiling faces are wonderful! Great tasting fried catfish, respectable red beans and rice and surprisingly good fried cornbread. Fish was cooked well and good sized. A cozy, down home feel of authenticity without all the fancy hype of other yuppie restaurants. Just good, honest home cooked great food and nothing pretentious. Great place and will DEFINITELY be back!!

I am going to make this a short message. Food was great, didn't try the sushi, since I won't be returning, so I can't give my input. The staff/chef's are friendly, and attentive, though the chef's at the hibachi seemed sad (not an understatement). I've have been to the location in Rockwall twice, the first to take my boyfriend to the hibachi, as he has never been, or had the experience. I was expecting to have a fun time, as I have been to many hibachi's and I was incredibly let down. It was Saturday, the restaurant was packed, and I blamed the lack of the hibachi ""experience"" on busy tables. The chef, though friendly, performed two tricks, the flame, and the heart. The only thing that kept me coming back was to give the restaurant a chance to redeem itself (and the food was good). Our second visit, we showed up during lunch hour, it was slow. Again, friendly staff, the chef was nice, as he said hello and answered questions, but resigned to ignore us (we were the only two at the hibachi table), and did one trick, then proceeded to cook our food (which was good). I am sad to say that I had to youtube to show my boyfriend what the ""hibachi experience"" is like in order for him not to think I was crazy. I will do my best to spread the word of how crappy this hibachi is; I feel sorry for Rockwall residents as they probably think the ""hibachi experience"" is just merely having their food cooked in front of them and it being tasty. Here are two youtube clips that I showed to my boyfriend. It is horrible that he had to see the experience while we were sitting on the couch eating leftovers from the restaurant. I hope the hibachi learns something from these two guys: Hibachi Chef ( Marcopolo): & Iron Hibachi Chef Mr. Romeo at Edo Pelham - Part 1: Not returning ever, Melissa & Rigo
