My name is Kim Murray Jr. and I obviously may be somewhat biased, but I would like to point out a few important points for anyone interested.1. I studied martial arts under my father (and his instructors) for over 30 years. I won't talk about my rank or skills in martial arts, although I have accomplished much. What I want to point out is that I am currently at practicing Otolaryngologist - Head and Neck Surgeon in Miami, FL. I also run a music business and recording label on the side. I'm still incredibly fit now at the age of 35, I breakdance and still practice martial arts on an almost daily basis. I truly believe that my background / base in martial arts, taught to me by my father, is what gave me the tools to achieve and continue to push for such accomplishments in life. The discipline, work ethic, confidence, and determination to never give up on my lifetime goals and dreams ALL originated from the amazing life skills I learned while training / teaching at Murray's Martial Arts Centers directly under my father Shihan Kim Murray, Sr.2. My father was one of the first lifetime martial arts practitioners and successful martial arts school owners in Rochester. If you have any doubt as to the tremendous influence he has had in this community, you only need and look at the fact that at least half of the other martial arts schools in the city are run by former STUDENTS of my father's schools. Why wouldn't people want to train at the "ground zero" of successful karate in Rochester, NY, where my father continues to inspire and produce both high-level martial arts as well as improve the lives of countless others through fun, quality training. At the end of the day, the results speak for themselves. Look at myself, both my siblings, the vast number of former students achieving high levels in martial arts who went on to try to duplicate the success in their own schools, as well as the thousands and thousands of other people who I have personally assisted and witnessed dramatically improve their lives through training with my father at his schools. It's where leaders are made. The original.

Joe Hyams wrote, “A Dojo is an arena of confined conflict where we confront an opponent who is not an opponent, but rather a partner engaged in helping us understand ourselves more fully.” That is exactly what I believe we have found for my daughter at Murray’s Martial Arts Centers (“MMAC”). She has a partner in each and every one of her fellow students; partners who cheer her on and who have helped her learn and become stronger than ever, both mentally and physically. She has sensei who will never settle for mediocrity by simply telling and explaining, but who strive for superiority by demonstrating, engaging and, most of all, empowering. The sensei at MMAC create an amazingly cohesive and fun environment where all students learn valuable lessons of self-defense, self-discipline, self-respect and respect for others. They take the time to get to know each student individually and always provide the positive reinforcement and feedback all children need to succeed. With the help of all the spectacular sensei at MMAC, my daughter has learned to let go of fear and overcome adversity. Most of all, she has learned to never put limits on herself. She sets goals and believes she will accomplish them, just like those who came before her at MMAC. She now understands that a black belt isn’t just something you wear…it is something you become. To say “thank you” seems so trite, but I do not know any other way to express our appreciation for MMAC and all the impressive and inspiring sensei who work so hard to help their students succeed. It is clear the sensei all love what they do, and because of that they have made MMAC the BEST martial arts school around! We are so grateful to be a part of the MMAC family!

Like many people living a healthy life style is not always the easiest, especially when it comes to working out. I can force myself to go to the gym, find a workout buddy to motive me, but sometimes you find yourself always coming up short in getting the workout your body needs. I came across Murray’s Kickboxing class online and decided to give it a try. A month later I find myself getting a great workout that motivates me each class. I never thought I would find a place like Murray’s, the people who join all have the same goals in mind. We have fun every class and we also get the benefit of having such amazing coaches. They will continue to monitor you, make sure you are doing all the moves correctly. They remind me when I am struggling how far I have come since day one, so the motivation and the support never stops. I want others to know that they can take the first step to a better you and I think Murray’s is a GREAT place to make that first step.
