Dr. Babak Jahromi, MD
Dr Babak is outstanding! He's treating my mother (E.S.) for a blocked artery (95%-98%; R neck) & he asked that a family member accompany mom for the appointment that would review her MRI results & needed surgery. Dr. J. immediately made you feel welcome / comfortable. He not only went into detail (verbally) about the issue but he took the time to find the MRI scans and showed us pictures of the blockage. While it is a serious issue, the doctor remained positive and offered encouraging solutions. He makes you feel hopeful. He said around 2% of these operations do have problems, however, he personally has less than 1.5% problems with his operations. He has a great track-record! Something you want a doctor to have.Dr. J. takes plenty of time with you and he asks over and over if you have any questions. You never feel rushed. So, he's very knowledgeable, experienced, compassionate, helpful, friendly....everything you want your doctor to be. I cannot recommend him enough!

Workfit Medical
What a great experience, start to finish! The front desk staff was very welcoming and friendly and registered me promptly, even though I chose to come at a very busy time. Although I had a little wait (15 min), not having an appointment I felt that was pretty quick. My DOT physical was efficient and the instruction I received with regard to my paperwork was very clear. Thank goodness they told me that I needed to bring my medical certificate to the DMV or I would have assumed that they were going to! I will also recommend their Urgent Care services as I saw a very ill woman treated quickly and with much care. Thank you! I'll be back!

Unity Hospital
I have been admitted 3 times in the last year..Nurses and Doctors and other staff are always nice and helpful. Very clean. I highly recommend..Single occupancy rooms a huge plus and no pay parking. I will not go to any other hospital in Rochester if I can help it..Other hospitals in area are over crowded ,multi patient rooms and over worked stressed out staff..Not Unity..They have patient care figured out.

Tips & Advices
Academic medical centers provide the widest range of specialty care treatments, including the latest technological advances, clinical trials, and surgical techniques. In general, an academic medical center is a better choice than a community hospital for complicated treatments or rare diseases. Pediatric intensive care, especially, is usually performed at academic medical centers.
Academic medical centers offer a broad range of specialized services, from allergists to urologists. Some of the larger medical centers have entire hospitals or clinics focused on a particular medical service, such as cancer treatment, though specialties vary among the centers. Patients whose community hospital or local doctors do not have the facilities or expertise to address complex medical conditions can be referred by their primary care physician or local specialist to a major medical center (there are more than a dozen in the United States).
Yes. In addition to their inpatient hospital services, medical centers can offer a wide variety of outpatient services, such as pain clinics, rehabilitation centers, surgery, imaging and laboratory, mental health treatment, and outpatient cancer treatment. Medical groups – doctors in private practice but affiliated with the medical center--will also have offices within the medical center.
Physicians, nurses, physician’s assistants, residents, and attending physicians makeup the clinical staff of an academic medical center.
Medical center accreditation is not required, but most centers work voluntarily toward accreditation because it represents higher standards of healthcare quality and patient safety.
