The clinic isn't that kid friendly but the service for my austistic son is the best. We went to 3 other dentists before finding dr jones and dr yode. They are great with him and the nurses make him feel accepted. He gets a special bag of tooth brushing goodies and a prize when he comes and he looks forward to it every time. I am happy they try to educate us (mom and dad) about what snacks are best and what I can do to help my son not get cavities. Mynson had to be sedated for teeth to get pulled before and I want to do what I can so we don't have to do that again. They really care.

Dr yoda and her assistant were quite effective in telling me I was a bad parent when I took my children in for the first time. The assistant gave me this information trying to sell the idea that bacteria (?!) causes cavities even though I know soft teeth it's inherited in my family. Dr yoda came in and started telling me I was wasting my money on toddler toothpaste and wanted me to start using fluoride toothpaste for my toddler!! No! We don't even use our fluoride water ! She talked down to me when she said I was giving them bad snacks for the lunches. I only buy organic and they eat only organic foods! She was focused on the organic fruit snacks they get for lunch and at home told me to just quit buying them and give them chocolate...?! It's fruit! I left knowing I would be finding another dentist for my kids- one whose practices are more in line with what I want for my family.

My daughter had to sit in the chair the whole time she was back getting her teeth cleaned and listen to the doctors complain and get aggravated about how overbooked they are and that they don't get any downtime. And then the doctor cleaning and working on her teeth was jabbing into her gums and when my daughter said it hurt she started blaming my daughter. And since my daughter is 17 and not a toddler I tend to take her word for it.

These folks in Roanoke are fantastic! The staff are so friendly and accommodating. The doctors are very knowledgeable and professional. I don't dread having to bring my son to see them and neither does he.

Tips & Advices
This depends on the prosthetic.
  • Dental implants, when cared for properly, can last a lifetime.
  • Crowns typically last between 10-15 years.
  • Resin-bonded bridges typically last between seven  and 10 years. Tooth-supported fixed bridges generally wear out faster than this.
  • Removable partial dentures typically last around 15 years.
  • Complete dentures typically last between five and six years.
The entire process for adding dental implants could take as long as eight months. There are three phases:
  • Phase 1: Grafting. This may take between three and six  months.
  • Phase 2: Artificial root placement. This may take one to two  hours to complete and will take between three and six  months to heal.
  • Phase 3: Crown placement. This is usually done over the course of two visits, two weeks apart.
One dental implant typically costs $1,000-$3,000. However, the abutment (a connector added onto the top of a dental implant) and crown can add $500-$3,000. Multiple dental implants may cost $3,000-$30,000. A full set of implant dentures may cost as much as $90,000, though the average is around $34,000.
A dental implant is a titanium post shaped like a natural tooth's root that is surgically inserted into the jawbone beneath the gums. These posts allow dentists to secure a replacement tooth or bridge in the correct position.
Maxillofacial prosthesis is a subspecialty of prosthodontics. A maxillofacial prosthesis is meant to rehabilitate patients who have defects or disabilities due to trauma, disease, or those that a patient is has from birth. The prosthesis is designed to replace parts of the bone or tissue that are missing, or to help restore functions of the mouth, such as swallowing, chewing, or speaking. Other prostheses are created to protect the face during radiation therapy. Dentists that work with maxillofacial prostheses often collaborate closely with ear, nose, and throat doctors.
