Renters beware. She wrongfully kept over $1000 of the security deposit, violating CA civil code & guidelines. She is greedy, manipulative, unscrupulous, and lacks basic human kindness.My father rented from Edith. He passed away & I was left with the responsibility to get everything moved out. Within 3 days of my first conversation with her, I had a 60 day notice to quit or evict. Really? My father just died.Edith will boast 35 years of experience. Clearly she hasn't paid attention to the updates in the law regarding security deposits or the building code regarding fire alarms and keeping homes safe to live in. In spite of being made aware of current civil code and her wrong doing, she proved not to be interested in following the law. She charged me to re-key for the next tenant, $700 to repaint & for cleaning carpet that only had normal wear & tear, among other things. Law states you cannot charge for these things.Do business with her at your own risk.

I currently have few rental properties in Riverside County and First Choice have been managing them since 2009, I am surprised of some of the negative reviews because in my opinion, they provide a great service, it is truly a “worry free” service for me as the landlord. They take care of everything for you, and that is priceless. Perhaps some of the bad reviews come from property owners who would like to have more involvement with a day to day issues of the tenants such as late payments, repairs, etc. In that case, I am sure you can discuss the terms with the office and come up with terms that will make up happy; But if you are one of those landlords that don’t have the time to deal with those problems, then I recommend First Choice property Management.From the tenants perspective, a tenant can call to the their Maintenance request Hot line for any needed repair or emergency, and the office will send someone right away, I am not aware of many other property management agencies that offer that quick response service.Over the years I had the opportunity to interact with Dale, Candace, Lisa, Shari and Amanda and they all have been very helpful and professional. I do recommend First Choice to every landlord that has multiple properties with little or no time to deal with tenant’s issues.
