Allen Tire
My family has been Allen Tire Inc customers for 7+ years. We have always visited the same location but recently we have been going to the Forest Hill Ave. location. This past week I needed 4 new tires as well as an oil change for my car - once again, Allen Tire Inc. delivered the same great service we have grown to expect from them. Billy Allen helped advise me on which tires were best for my car and my daily driving, ordered them, called to set up my appointment, and ensured that I was satisfied with the new tires. While waiting for the service to be completed, the shop has wireless which was very nice for my little one to play on the iPad. The gentlemen at the front desk were polite, helpful, and nice to talk to while we waited! Thanks Billy and the Allen family for your continued commitment to your customers.

Roy Hendrick's Muffler Shop
I'm usually particular about where I take my vehicles but went here because it was walking distance to my home, even if this one was a beater--albeit with under 100k. They quickly replaced my alternator but I asked them to check out an overheating issue. They pressure tested it and couldn't find a leak--the reservoir held fluid when there. Four days later--and 3 more containers of coolant--my head gasket blew. It appears the coolant was leaking into the engine somehow from the brown mixture at the rear of the block. Needless to say, I will continue to go out of my way to my usual shops. Vonderlehr for tires, Jackson's Exhaust, North American Transmission, and Automotive Specialty for anything else--mechanics go to this guy.Nice enough guys and trustworthy, but not competent.

Sam's Front End Alignment
I read the reviews before I called for an appointment today. I was skeptical, but decided to give it a try, since their price is 60% less than auto shops charge for axle replacement in west end. I watched very closely the mechanic (Fredi) who worked on my car. He did very good job and even fixed some wires previously cut from another mechanic. Their price is great and the mechanic I dealt with was very understanding and knowledgeable.I will go there again next time i need a repair.

Richmond European
I have been taking my Audi to Aram (owner) at Richmond European for over 5 years, and I have NEVER had such a great experience with auto repair and service as I have had at Richmond European. Aram is very honest and trustworthy, does great work, and has very fair pricing. My favorite part about taking my car to Aram is that when I come to pick up the car, he always takes the time to show me exactly what is wrong with the parts he needed to switch out.

Decatur's Garage
My son has used Decatur's Garage for years and has received commendable, affordable service. Based on his recommendation, I took my BMWs to them for every need ranging from inspection to engine service. I have always been impressed with their service, their friendly persona, their expertise and their cost. I recommend them to my friends. It's difficult to find a firm so reliable, honest, reputable and customer-oriented.

Decatur's Garage
I went there today for an inspection after reading all the positive reviews. Decatur's is in a nice neighborhood with some things to do nearby while you wait. The staff was professional and very helpful with a few questions I had about registration and inspection.I would go again if the need arises.

Vonderlehr Tire Company
Another tire place stripped my locking lug nuts and Vonderlehr was able to remove the nuts. I can't remember if they charged me any extra to deal with that. If they did, it was a pittance. been back twice and everything has been perfect and competitively priced. Great guys!
Tips & Advices
You should change your oil filter whenever you change your oil, that is, approximately every 7,500 miles.
A oil filter is a device that helps remove contaminants from motor oil as it passes through the engine. A pump pushed the oil through the filter where it is strained and goes back to the engine.
High-mileage oil contains special conditioners that are said to help prevent gaskets from drying out and thus preventing leaks. This can be beneficial to engines with many miles on them.
Synthetic oil costs more than conventional oil, but the price is offset by the need for less frequent oil changes due to the oil’s durability.
Tools needed to change your own oil include jack stands or ramps, a wrench, an oil filter wrench, an oil drip pan, funnel, replacement oil filter, and replacement oil.

Just a moment...
