General Services Corporation is unresponsive to tenant phone calls, emails, and complaints in general. They do not take action regarding any feedback. The maintenance staff at all of their communities is inept and incompetent at best; negligent at their worst. They fail to recognize simple management skills and tactics and hire whoever will fill the position for the least amount of pay. They hire unskilled, unlicensed workers and have them complete repairs that they have no business even attempting. Be sure to Google them and look at the photos. Don't make the same mistake I did! Run! Run away as fast as you can!! Their VA properties include St. John's Wood, Chesterfield Village, Colonial, London Towne, The Crossings at Short Pump, Treehouse, Legends at Virginia Center, Somerset Glen, Wellesley Terrace at Short Pump, Foxchase, Hunters Ridge, Cardinal Forest, Breckenridge, and Old Buckingham Station.

Thank goodness this place is finally being shut down. I was lied to about the services I received and received all these bills with false information on them. I contacted the better business bureau and received assistance on how to get help! Run from this place!!

This by far is one if the worst places to ever live unless you just don't care how you live. I've lived here for 1week and I am currently in the process of moving out. The people in the office pretend to be so nice and considerate but once you sign your lease, you're screwed. I asked about roach issues and they said they never had complaints, that was a lie. I had no heat for 4 days, it was freezing and I have small children. Under my water spout in the bathroom has corrosion. Under my kitchen sink is old pipes and opening from the outside where slugs, crickets, roaches and all of the above hang out at. My carpet keeps lifting where its molded under it. My wall in my bedroom is falling apart along the baseboard and I can just go on. NEVER consider renting from inconsiderate, self centered people. Maintenance can only do what they allow them to do. Those are the only nice ones you will deal with here. The noise from the neighbors is terrible, smoking in the hallways, children breaking into mailboxes. It's just sad. Just as fast as I moves in, I'm moving out. Save yourself from this disaster and move elsewhere.

Do not rent an apartment from Plus Properties at 109 S. Boulevard. It is the only building that I know of that David doesn't own. The owner will screw you over. The building has been infested with bed bugs, and they used chemical pesticides to exterminate, which is completely ineffective. I feel sorry for future tenants in the apartment I was in, because chances are you will get bed bugs, and they probably will not inform you. Bed bug eggs can live over a year, and can survive chemical pesticides. They will also stick you with the bill of ineffectively exterminating them, and they do not use the only method that works -- Cryonite. Bed bugs are a huge problem all over Richmond and northern Virginia right now, and I promise you do not want to deal with them. They are a huge inconvenience and are expensive to deal with not even counting the treatment. I spent $2000 on new furniture, and they took almost a month to begin exterminating, so my new sofas became infested in the meantime. An exterminator who knew what they were doing (not Loyal Termite and Pest Control) would have used Cryonite on my sofas and mattress as well. However, Loyal simply sprayed the baseboards and behind wallpaper trim (which the landlord was asked to remove by Loyal and he did not), which did little to eliminate the bugs. And, on top of that, my cat threw up several times a day until moving into a new place. What a disaster! You have been warned!

Please never use this company. 1st they would not let me out of my lease when my job ended, then they are trying to charge me for damages that occured before I moved in. I had sent an email too ne of them about damages I found because I had a feeling that I would be blamed for them. I gave them a deposit and they not only are not refunding me but talking about replacement costs for the kitchen floor that as damaged when the appliances were moved in. I feel sick to my stomach at what else they might blame and charge me for.

After living at these apartments I have sworn off living in any GSC Managed apartments. When I first moved in, they didn't have my apartment ready even though they had 3 months to get it ready. Because of this, I had to wait 7 hours before I could move in. From that point everything started to go down hill. People think the apartments on the side of the rental office are nice, but on multiple occasions, there were several robberies in the parking lot, one of which a gun was used. This unsafe condition was brought on because the apartments didn't turn on the night time lights in the parking lots. It was so dark you couldn't even see a person's face standing only 10 feet away from you.The maintenance department is useless. It takes a long time before they answer a service call. One instance they sent a subcontractor to do some repairs in the apartment next to mine, but they gave they unsupervised subcontractor the key to my apartment. He came into my apartment just as I was coming out of the bathroom. The bathroom floor tiles where completely destroyed by previous tenants and never repaired. When the bathtub enamel started to crack, the maintenance department just sprayed it and never properly coated the tub. The maintenance closet that houses the breaker switches was broken into and someone flicked the switches on and off several times causing a power surge that caused damage to my personal property. I called both the maintenance department and rental office and they did nothing to repair the door for 2 weeks.Trying to complain to the corporate office is pointless. First there is no listing of a corporate number anywhere on GSC's website, and the people in the rental office kept giving me the run around for 3 weeks telling me they will call me back with the corporate number and never did. Most people I met living there are nice, but when there is a problem with noise with a neighbor and you bring it to the attention of the rental office they do nothing to address it. I had to call the police more than 7 times a neighbor who lived below me who kept blasting his music at all hours of the night. At one point the neighbor picked a fight with me and hit me (He was a 60+ year old man). I pressed charges and informed the apartments that he was convicted of assault and the apartment management still didn't care.They'll put notices of maintenance they need to perform on the apartments and then not do them(replacing the ac filters).I know money can be tight but moving here will be a completely stressful time for you. Most of the people I met living in the apartment complex I was living in said they were going to move out as soon as they can.
