Bob Windsor Construction
I want to share my experience with Bob Windsor Construction. First of all, he returned my call! He met me at the scheduled time, gave me a quote, I accepted, work began the next day. Amazing! My project was installing a back porch "A" roof and water damage repair to my back door. Bob is accessible and knowledgeable. His crew is timely and highly skilled at their craft. Bob Windsor and his crew deserve an A+ rating! Good People that do quality work.

Bob Windsor Construction
In October 2016 I had a roof leak that caused damage to both of my bathrooms, causing them to have to be gutted. I had no experience working with insurance or contractors so I struggled finding a contractor that understood what needed to be done or was willing to work with insurance. After a 4 month search I received a recommendation from a co-worker for Bob Windsor Construction. After a short meeting, Bob Windsor started working with my insurance company and was able to work with them to get the money necessary to do a proper rebuild. His team started working immediately and a short time later I was back in my house. The entire rebuild process was easy for me, his team was professional and quality was top-notch. I am very pleased with the results.

Bob Windsor Construction
After an horrendous storm, (oak tree on house), Bob Windsor turned our home from a disaster area to a beautiful place we can be proud of. Bob worked very hard with our insurance adjuster and then plowed through all of the mess with great crews and great workmanship. His advice and suggestions were invaluable to us. Thanks, Bob! Highest recommendation, here.

Monument Construction
Monument Construction constructed the condos on Floyd Avenue called Brighton Condominiums. It has been one problem after another with those condos for the owners, tracing back to Monument's shoddy materials, workmanship, and failure to supervise the crew.

Perrin Construction & Design
Perrin Construction has replaced all of my home's windows, HVAC, and as of January, my hot water heater, which died the day before the storm. Kennon met me at Home Depot to pick out the heater, loaded it into my truck, contacted the plumber for the gas line and had it installed and working before the blizzard hit 24 hours later. I would have been without water for 3 days if he hadn't taken care of this so quickly. Thank you for this herculean effort.

Cavalier Const
We recently had windows installed by Cavalier. Bobby was informative, up-front, and knowledgeable. The process was painless. The installers did a great job and were courteous and professional. We hope to engage their services to replace our siding soon!

Regal Home Improvement Co
We used Regal and our experience was very bad. They took much longer that what was stated in the contract and the workmanship was poor. The owners did not care and never took to time to speak to us about our concerns. We will never use them again

Arthur S Mcgurn
Probably the worst builder in the Richmond area. Terrible quality and then has no desire to fix problems. DO NOT USE THIS BOZO COMPANY. Giving one star that is not in any way deserved but is needed to save the review.
Tips & Advices
If there is ever a dispute regarding payment over the course of the project, a contractor or subcontractor could place a payment claim, or lien, on your property. To avoid this, ask the contractor to sign a lien release, which is a legal agreement that states that any payment accepted is final. This can come in handy if a contractor has his or her own payment issues with their subcontractors. Signing a lien release form certifies that any payment made by a client to the contractor is enough to pay for any goods or services rendered.
Absolutely ask. Paying too much up front offers the homeowner minimal leverage if the quality of work does not meet expectations or contractual specifications. Try to establish a reasonable pay schedule, such as paying 10 percent of the total cost for each 10 percent of the work that is completed. Include this payment plan in the contract, as well.
Before any money changes hands, there should be a contract to sign. Make sure the specifics of the work and all costs are listed in the contract, including details. If you forget to have something included in the contract after signing it, there's rarely a chance of recourse.
Ask the contractor for proof of their certification before signing anything, as well as their proof of insurance. You should also check your homeowners insurance policy to see if they offer coverage for contracted work. You may want to call your insurance provider and ask for more details on what your plan will and won't cover.
Yes. Plans for how the work site will be cleaned at the end of each day as well as at the conclusion of work need to be put in writing. An experienced general contractor should make every effort to keep the workspace clean and prevent dirtying or damaging any other area. Even so, talk with the contractor about the daily schedule, the logistics of transporting workers and equipment, and how cleanup will be handled.
