I was referred by a patient for my 3 year old twins. It was a nice change to have a kid friendly waiting area with an indoor playground, but is was dirty, smelled and was not maintained. Our appointment was for 12noon, we were called back after about 30mins but once you get to the back there are 10 chairs all full with other children waiting. When I say waiting it took until 1:30 to be seen by the assistants for a cleaning and another 30 mins to be seen by the Dentist. We did not leave until after 2pm. I had not planned my day to be at the dentist over 2 hours just for a cleaning. The assistants were very unhappy they had been working all day with no lunch breaks (understandable it was well after 1pm). The Dentist was very impersonal she was asking me questions facing the computer to the wall and had her back to me. She spoke so softly I didn't even realize the questions were referred to me. She never referenced myself or either of my children by name. I don't know if I will return. The service and facility are just ok. Its like a slowwwwwww moving assembly line and patients are just numbers.

They have really turned (Mechanicsville VA) this place around over the last several years since I've last been here. The construction they did really opened and brightened the place up. The TVs in the procedure rooms are pure genius! Deborah leaving/changing positions has really made a huge impact and I feel a million times more comfortable bringing my child here for all his dental needs and even his ortho needs in the future (which is also a cool new thing they do now!) The D.A I was with was very kind and did everythingshe could to ensure my son and I were happy and informed. Dr. Ahmed is wonderful! She has always seen my son, and I won't ever change his dentists. She's very gentle, very patient, and very thorough.

My granddaughter, 6 years old, had a great experience with getting her teeth pulled. Dr. Ujaaney was excellent with her. Talked to her about a bee flying over her making sure she ok. My granddaughter did not feel a thing not even from the needle. Dr. Ujaaney talked to her and made her feel relaxed and comfortable. The next visit she did not want anyone else but Dr. Ujaaney. Sarah, her assistant, was also excellent with my granddaughter. She kept a conversation with her, was very knowledge of the x-rays, and was able to explain procedures with me including what my granddaughter need. I truly would recommend Dr. Ujaaney as an outstanding détentist. My granddaughter loves her.

I loooove Kool Smiles The Dr. Truong took care of all my five babies, did you hear yes five and patiently did everything perfectly so now thanks to her and Amazing assistants ( Joshua❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ What you did for Jayleen was beyond Amazing and Brilant ! As a busy mother of five , I love that I am always attend when and as need and taking very care off. I hate when Dentists try to rush off and not do the best of their abilities to cut time and keep making you come back over and over for minor things that could be done all in one office visit. This has never ever happened at Kool Smiles. This is why my J's and I loooooove Kool Smiles. Thanks you guys Rock❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Stephen has changed my daughter's experience with the dentist forever. I was literally on the verge of having to sedate my daughter just to get her teeth cleaned until he cleaned her teeth. The anxiety of going to the dentist for the both of us was just so high until we met him. I want to thank him from the bottom of my heart because I can actually sit there with my daughter and enjoy going to the dentist with her now. He has made it less stressful for the both of us and she is actually excited to go to the dentist in the future for once! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

I took my 7 year old son for treatment a few days ago and had a great experience with the entire staff, from the front desk staff to the dental assistants and the Doctor. My child was seated in a timely manner, and the two Dental Assistants, Serine and Cheryl were both very professional and courteous. They explained the procedure and answered all my questions. Dr. Herrera was very patient and worked with gentleness on my 7yr old. I would highly recommend KS for all your childs dental needs.

Tips & Advices
  • If a tooth decays and the nerves or pulp (soft internal tissue which helps teeth develop) become inflamed or infected
  • If a tooth is cracked or broken and nerves are exposed
This generally depends on any specific issues you wish to address with your teeth. There are toothpastes designed to whiten teeth, fight cavities, decrease sensitivity, prevent bad breath, resist gingivitis, and those specific to children (with lower fluoride content). There are also toothpastes that offer “complete” protection by combining aspects of many of the above toothpastes.
It’s recommended to get a professional cleaning at least two times per year.
  • Desensitizing toothpaste numbs the nerves in the teeth that can cause discomfort.
  • Mouth guard can protect against grinding teeth during sleep.
  • Fluoride treatment can be applied by dentists to sensitive areas to numb teeth and strengthen enamel.
  • Root canal can treat problems in a tooth’s core.
  • Surgical gum graft where a piece of gum tissue is removed from a section of the mouth to cover an exposed root.
Not everyone needs to have their wisdom teeth removed, but there are certain signs that can help you and your doctor determine if yours should be:
  • Wisdom teeth are pushing other teeth around, causing pain and misalignment
  • Cysts form around newly emerged wisdom teeth, causing jaw damage
  • Gums get inflamed and swollen, causing cavities and pain
  • Doctor determine from x-rays that wisdom teeth will cause problems in the near future
