While driving home on the freeway on a Friday afternoon, our 2001 Honda Odyssey mini-van had a transmission problem. When you'd accelerate, the transmission wouldn't engage—you could hear the engine rev, see the RPMs increase, but the van wouldn't move forward. We had it towed home by AAA (and just FYI on the AAA tow—we had three people in the van, but the tow vehicle could only seat two. Having no other way to get home, one of our passengers had to walk. I certainly don't recall reading that when I paid $160.00 for my membership to AAA, that you are limited to one or two passengers, depending on the size of the tow truck sent. So be aware of that!)Once home, I found out by internet research that our particular van make and model had been plagued by transmission problems resulting in Honda paying a percentage of the inevitable repair. Unfortunately, ours was out of warranty. The Honda dealership where we purchased the van quoted me $5000 - $6000. After picking myself up off the floor, I began my search for a local reputable transmission repair shop. After much research, I found Eagle Transmission in Mesquite, on Galloway. I called and spoke with David who was happy to really listen and discuss the transmission problem. He had a tow truck driver come that night (and it was late—wonderful service!) to get the van to the shop so he could look at it immediately on Saturday morning.Eagle has a free diagnostic check. The check determined the problem was inside the transmission, and it would cost $495.00 to open it up to check it further. (The $495.00 would be applied to the repair). Once the full check was done, we got the news it would cost about $3300.00. There was another quote that was about $300 less, but we opted for this quote, as it came with a 3 year, unlimited mileage warranty, and the Torque Converter was better. I told him I had come to him via Angie's List, and he was happy to give me a 10% discount. Eagle would also pay $30.00 per day for my rental car, up to 5 days.Eagle also has several financing methods. While we didn't take advantage of any of them, we did apply for one. The process was pretty painless, and they agreed to finance about half of the repair cost, so you do have options if you can't afford to pay it all yourself at once. The rebuild was started on Monday afternoon and David said more than likely it would be ready by Friday evening. When the rebuild was done, David was concerned that there might be a leak, so he wanted to keep it and put more miles on the van on Saturday morning to check. When that check didn't fully satisfy him, he needed to keep it until Monday, just to be certain everything was done correctly. He even gave me an additional $60.00 credit for two more days of car rental! We picked up the van on Monday morning, and so far, everything is great. I must compliment David, who was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. He put up with my daily (sometimes 3 or 4 times a day) calls with questions. He walked me through every step of the process and helped me to understand what was being done and what we were paying for.The total out-the-door price for the rebuild, with all of our discounts, was $2789.00. While you may think that's high, that's MUCH lower than what the dealership quoted. And after searching the internet for what other Odyssey owners have paid, I don't feel that I was taken advantage of. We do have to return in 10 – 15 days for a follow-up check on the repair, or the warranty will be voided. I totally understand the need for the check; David likened it to a follow-up Doctor's visit after major surgery.I will update this review as needed, after the check-up and we drive our van a bit.So, after this long-winded review, I want to say that I fully recommend David and Eagle Transmission! Thanks, David and Team Eagle Transmission!

Having an almost 50 year old car [1967 Impala] that I purchased from a person that treated it like crap [for who knows how long], I had a transmission that was in dire need of a rebuild. Constant slipping and sometimes stalling, it was definitely time to get it taken care of. I looked online for every transmission shop in town that had a good history of customer satisfaction. After deciding on Eagle Transmission in Richardson, I gave them a call and talked to the manager, Lewis. After breaking down what was going on with the car and telling him some of the quotes I got from some of the other shops, he gave me an estimate and told me to bring it by when I could. I dropped the car off on monday and Lewis told me he'd be in touch and gave me a window of when it would be ready. Now here is where the shop earns brownie points with me. Any other garage I've taken my car(s) to in the past, the only time you hear from them after dropping it off is when the car is finished. Lewis called me each day to give me updates on the status and anything that needed to be done. And instead of tacking on extra stuff to the rebuild [like some shops do], he asked me if I'd be interested in the possible upgrades, but that they weren't mandatory to make it run. I was really impressed with the professionalism and courtesy of Lewis and the shop. I had my car back in a few days, price was about what I expected it to be and what I was quoted. The only reason for the difference was the transmission was in a little worse shape than expected and required a little extra TLC. I will definitely recommend the shop to friends and anyone else looking for a place that does top notch work and will do them right. I'm already lining up some other upgrades for my car and will be visiting Eagle again for their great service.

Central Collision Repair
I have never written a review before, but I was so impressed with the service that I received at Central Collision Repair that I signed up just to leave a review and spread the word.Tom is the store owner and in my opinion the best in the business. I took my car in for repairs and the team at Central Collision Repair worked with me at every step. I have never felt more comfortable or satisfied with the work being done on my car as I did here. Estimates were more than fair (comparatively, my original estimate from Central Collision Repair was less than half of the original estimate I received from Service King). The team worked quickly to repair my car, and they went above and beyond what was expected/asked for/paid for. Minor dings and scratches were patched up at no charge and my AC was fixed even though I did not ask for it not was I charged for it.With all of the driving we Texans do, it is extremely reassuring to know that there are places like this that will work with you and be on your side as apposed to just trying to take your money.Really, I just can't say enough good things about this place. I would highly recommend giving this place a try next time you find yourself in the market to have car repairs made. Thanks again to everyone at Central Collision Repair!!

From start to finish everyone at Eagle was great. They always answered the phone when I called with updates or questions on our truck, and is always smiling and courteous. I've met the actual owner/GM and he was also incredibly nice. He's very old-school about customer service and helping people out. I wish more owners and managers still had that attitude, but they've got it at this shop for sure. Gerardo is who we dealt with the most, and the best thing about the whole experience is that we had a pretty major repair that cost a pretty penny (no matter where you go) and we only had enough money off-hand to pay for about half. And, we're in the process of rebuilding our credit so our credit was not good. Gerardo and Emo took a lot of time with us to find us several financing options to combine to make sure we could get our truck working again. They even started working on the truck for us while figuring it all out (which took about a day, because again, bad credit that we're still fixing). I'd use Eagle again. I'd recommend this particular location to friends, because the owner and employees are customer-oriented. Also, they finished the truck's transmission pretty quickly and we needed it back right away. In conclusion... I AM EXTREMELY PLEASED.

When it comes to professionalism, Eagle Transmissions is a 10! I would recommend them, and I do, for anything, any kind of work. Even if they don't do that type of work, I would rather send someone to them, because it is the right place to go. Chris is a pretty trustworthy guy. In fact, he runs the most trustworthy shop that I've met in Texas, and I've been here for 3 years now.I just go in to Eagle Transmissions, drop of my vehicle, tell them what it needs, and they check it out. Like this last visit, I went in to another place for an oil change, and the guy said the transmission needed to be serviced, so I took it to Chris because I knew he would give me the right recommendations, as I'm not a mechanical person. He checked it out and said that it definitely needed to be serviced and should probably be checked out once a year. My truck has 280,000 miles on it, and it runs like brand new. I'm not about to get rid of it anytime soon. Any vehicle I own, I take to Eagle Transmissions, and they have my thanks.

I found Eagle Transmission on Google maps. I did some research online and placed a call. I spoke to Junior at Eagle Transmission and he sold me with his level of experience and helpfulness. Eagle Transmission blew away the shop I had previously used. I brought my car in first thing in the morning. They did a great job explaining everything. I live probably seven miles away, and after they took my information, they gave me a ride back home for no charge. They were on time with their work and they thoroughly explained what was wrong with the transmission. Rather than speaking in vague, general terms, they were specific and went into detail. When I went to pick up my car, they explained everything again and went over the warranty information. All in all, it was a great experience. I was honestly surprised. I was not expecting such high quality of service. Eagle Transmission takes care of their customers. They want to make sure you are fully aware of what you are getting into.

I have a 2000 Dakota, 5.9L. Started pulling an RV (23', 5K lbs with all my stuff in it). Used for contracting around the country. Now retired and traveling to State Parks. The 5.9 tow cap is 7K lbs. Dodge messed up not offering a 5 speed with the 5.9 and with a 1,000 rpm gap from 3rd to O.D. it's been tearing up the trans and rear end. Get a new truck? Not on my retirement funds. So I thought I'd check out Eagle Transmission ( 2233 N. Galloway, Mesquite) to see if it was worth saving. Let's see....Billet torque converter, Sonnax shift kit and some internal valve controls and settings (I don't understand it all) but I do have some mechanical background. Replaced rear with Eaton Posi-Trac (Eagle also). Beefed suspension to 3/4 ton. (Done at Thru-Way Spring while up in New York). Four corner H.D. with coil over rear Monroe. Total cost: $7K. For what Eagle did. It pulls awesome! No more slip, vibes or drive line shaking. They just saved me $35K over buying a new truck.

I was in a car accident on 8/7/2014, didnt know what i was going to do. I called and had my car towed to my home. I was referred here through a friend. It was the best decision i could have made. I had my car towed to the shop, talk with Shawn, who is very upfront, and talked with the owner who is very upfront. It was there about two weeks, one reason waiting on the adjuster. The second week to fix my car. When i seen my car, I was amazed at how it looked. I couldnt tell that it had been in an accident. They went far and beyond what i could imagined. I called them avout my car several times, because i was renting a car which was costing me alot of money and they worked to get my car back to me because i do home health and needed my car. I would always use them if i needed too and will definitely refer anyone who needed work done. I thank them from the bottom of my heart and wish many great blessing on this company...again thanks for the awesome job done on my car.

i would highly recommend Eagle transmission for your repair work. I worked directly with Scott and he arranged a tow truck (free of charge) to bring my car in and inspect. The original diagnosis was free and he was clear and concise about the problem. Scott took the time to make sure and inspect all elements of my transmission and clutch to make sure his diagnosis was correct. His work was $1000 less than VW service shop was for theirs. I had to do a full transmission replacement due to a crack in the seal in my 2009 VW Rabbit (manual). Also replaced the clutch. Scott worked with me on an in house payment plan with no interest which I was extremely grateful for. 12,000 mile or 1 year warranty on all his work, I highly recommend. Lastly, during the repair there was a vacuum hose that went out during the repair causing my brakes to basically go out. Scott also repaired this free of charge. Thanks Scott!!

I want to say thank you to the staff at Eagle Transmission in Mesquite for all thier help. My Acura was skipping gears from 2nd to 3rd and I was really scared of having to buy another vehicle. I almost have my car paid off so I didn't want to incur any more major debt in this economy. I called after seeing an ad about a free diagnosis. I was skeptical and uncertain because I've never had a transmission repair so I didn't know what to expect or watch out for. My dad had a very negative experience a few years ago in Ft. The staff was very helpful and explained things in a way I could understand (I'm not mechanical and don't know much about cars) They even brought me under my car and also used a model transmission to explain what was wrong and what they were fixing. (I never knew a transmission had so many parts! :) Tito was able to work with us on the price. The treatment and experience was really good.
Tips & Advices
Using a variety of tools and processes, many of which require specialized training, auto body mechanics primarily repair cosmetic and structural damage to vehicles after accidents occur. They can also enhance a vehicle’s appearance and performance by replacing and adding new parts to a vehicle’s body.
This depends on the severity of the work that needs to be done. Something such as paintless dent repair for a few small dents can take an hour. Whereas auto body repairs for damages caused by a major accident can take multiple days to correct.
All auto body parts can be repaired but there is a threshold for the level of repairs possible. Parts can be damaged beyond repair and would need to be wholly replaced.
Auto body parts can be made from a wide variety of materials, usually based on what the part’s purpose is. Vehicle frames body panels, bumpers, roof racks, and other items that need to be strong and durable are usually constructed from steel, which is known for its durability and resistance to rust and high temperatures. But aluminum is quickly becoming a popular material of construction due to its lightweight yet durable nature. Body kits and other aftermarket parts like spoilers and hoods can be constructed from one form of plastic or another.
Yes, the vast majority of car makes and models have aftermarket parts available for many of their components. But higher-end vehicles typically have less aftermarket parts available since they often use specialized materials and manufacturing processes that are difficult to duplicate for many aftermarket manufacturers.
