Rod Pool Guy
We used Rod for the first time this year, having come from a local Sparks pool supply & service company on Rock Blvd. I'm pretty reasonable & willing to work with businesses when they do something unscrupulous. However, it just didn't work out this time around with that company. Needless to say, I was on the hunt for a pool service company when I was referred to Rod the Pool Guy by a friend. He has done a superior job of keeping our pool clean, clear, and operating properly all summer long. When it came time to close the pool, he took all the steps necessary and then some. The other company that we had closing our pool for the last eight years never did half the things Rod did this year. In fact, the other company improperly winterized out pool last year, resulting in damage to our pool equipment, which they refused to acknowledge responsibility for. I had no idea how much the pool closing could actually cover when performed by someone's who knows what they're doing and actually cares about their customers. I would refer Rod to anybody for their pool service. He does a great job. He responds promptly to requests for extra service or to deal with impromptu issues. You can't go wrong with Rod the Pool guy.

Clear Water Pool & Spa Tenders
We were using a spa service that we thought was doing ok, except that the tub started getting little white flakes in it and they couldn't clear it up. They told us we needed a new spa. So we called these guys in for a second opinion (no charge) and they said the chemicals had been handled incorrectly for so long that the little white flakes were scales of old chemicals that were stuck to the walls and just constantly peeling. The Clear Water guy did some kind of super cleaning and no more scales. Even better, didn't have to buy a new spa. That was 4 years ago - still have the same spa and they keep it running great, no problems. Always show up when they say they will, price is right, no problems with billing. Family owned I think - anyway the owner is the guy who always takes care of my spa. Wouldn't use anyone else.

Spa & Sauna Co
We bought our 2nd hot tub from the Spa & Sauna Co. and they are the best people to work with!! They really listen to what you want, and have an amazing selection. I would highly recommend them if you are looking for a hot tub or swim spa.

Tips & Advices
  • Are you licensed and registered?
  • Are you insured and bonded?
  • How many years have you been in business?
  • What, if any, professional associations do you belong to?
  • May I have a list of references?
  • Do you offer a written warranty for your work?
  • Will I need a permit for this work?
It is important to have a written warranty for any work or repairs done to the plumbing in your house, especially if it is a major repair. Look for a professional  who is willing to  stand by his or her work.
Before you hire a plumber, contact their past customers if you're able to. These people can be a wealth of information if you ask them the right questions. Pose the following queries to these former patrons when you get the chance:
  • Were you pleased with the work done?
  • Was the project completed on time?
  • Did the plumber give you a written warranty and guarantee his or her work?
  • Were there any unexpected costs that arose?
  • Would you hire this plumber again? If not, why?
A permit provides added assurance that the work is done correctly. Having this in place means an inspector will check the work your contractor or plumber does to ensure he or she did the job correctly. If you plan on putting your house or commercial building on the market, a real estate agent and prospective buyers will want to check any large work you did to make sure it was done properly.
A trustworthy plumber will have both commercial liability insurance as well as be bonded. The insurance and the bond protects the plumber from paying for any damages made to your house out of pocket. Having professionals that carry both of these policies can protect all of you from any mishaps that could occur while they work on your building.
