Green Spaces Landscaping
This contractor is the worst we have ever worked with! The crew removed vegetation from the yard that was not supposed to be removed, including vegetation in a neighbor’s yard; the crew took ferns from the community owned greenbelt to use in my yard and the owner suggested that I do so as well; the crew trimmed community owned greenbelt trees without permission; they did not amend the soil or provide boulders as specified in the contract; they trees without removing the burlap from the root balls; the trees subsequently died; they gave tours of my yard to people passing by without my permission and when challenged about it, said they thought it was OK because “…you weren’t home…”; the owner assured me that the lighting they would provide would be better than what already was in place. It is not and it is not working properly, and has exposed wires; they damaged my outdoor dining table; they did not set up the irrigation system properly. Over 40% of the material planted was not appropriate for the site and died; they damaged our deck, invalidated the deck board warranty and the firm has have yet to repair the problem: they installed mismatched boards. They did not use the board manufacturer’s recommended screws and clips on those boards thereby invalidating the manufacturer’s warranty on those boards and the boards to which they attached. Then they neglected to screw down the 40+ deck boards cut for the trim addition on two levels of the deck. Then, they improperly screwed down those boards. I first advised the owner and he said he would investigate the costs to fix the current deck problem and get back to me after his vacation. After his vacation he said he would get back to me about it the following week. He never got back to me.Despite multiple attempts to get them to fix the deck and honor the promises made by them as recently as April 2017, they have not fixed the problems. Working with them was a nightmare.

My grass has never looked better. The specialist is polite and accommodating. Have to remind them to spray on the south side of the garage. Other than that, I'm very satisfied..

TruGreen Lawn Care
I always receive a call on the day before my TruGreen specialist will be at my house to treat my lawn. My TruGreen specialist always arrives on the scheduled day. He always leaves a detailed service report on what he observed about my lawn, the treatment he applied, and what I need to do, if anything, such as rake out dying moss or water in an application. He is very professional, knowledgeable, and makes valuable suggestions. I have tried other lawn care services over the years, and I feel that TruGreen provides the best value and service.

After a very hot dry summer, it is so good to see our rich green grass come alive again. Thanks to Truegreen. They do a wonderful job of keeping our lawn green and weed free. Insects and pests are minimized with their spray program.

Your company is doing everything it said it would do. My lawn would be even greener if we were not conserving water. It will recover in the winter. Meanwhile the weeds are under control. Thank you so very much.

Now that spring has arrived, our TruGreen lawn and shrubs are greening up nicely and looking good. Out TruGreen technicians -- Sean Pliego and Andrew Scarbrough -- are very thorough and conscientious, always explaining in detail what they have done and the condition of our vegetation. In summary, excellent service.

Tips & Advices
Employers must conduct all required training in a language and vocabulary that workers can understand. Training must demonstrate the hazards of operating certain machinery, like stone cutters and splitters, as well as how to use them appropriately. It's important to verify that your landscape contractor has taken the necessary steps to fully train its personnel and that the appropriate safety precautions are in place.
Check the specific regulations for your area, and verify that your contractor has the necessary licenses. These may include a state contractor's license, pesticide license, CDL driver's license and license to sell and purchase nursery stock.
Landscape work is not cheap, so it's in your best interest to make sure that it's done to your requirements and that you get the best contractor to do the job. Homeowners should know how much they'll need to pay for the contractor's service as well as how they will be billed for this work. Ask about any design fees, if quoted prices are fixed or estimates, and what the payment process will be. Clarifying these items in the beginning will prevent any surprise expenses.
Yes. Homeowners should require that the contractor submit certificates verifying compliance with safety, insurance, workers' compensation and drug and alcohol testing programs. This will give you peace of mind that the contractor has gone through all the steps under industry regulations.
Yes. Every good contractor should have a list of recently completed jobs that you can see in their portfolio. They should also have a list of references that you can contact, or properties that you can see in person.
