How does one person thank another person for saving your sight! After decades of good eye exams.....I went to my regular eye doctorfor my annual eye exam last Tuesday, not worrying about a thing. Suddenly....the next thing I knew, I was told (thankfully) to rushto Dr. Carim's office....for emergency treatment....that I had a torn retina. It was at the end of Dr. Carim's very long day....and he also found that the retinawas beginning to detach. Needless to say....the lay person knows a detached retinacan be a sight threatening situation at worst....a complicated surgery and recoveryperiod, at best. Dr. Carim took the time to do a laser procedure...on my light eyes, which I understandmade it even more difficult. I was frightened and in shock at how quickly life can change course. Suddenly everything else was minor......and the thought of losing my sight became major. I prayed. The care and success of this procedure would not only prevent further detachment....it would also prevent the need for surgery.Dr. Carim was comforting.....and patient...and thorough...and excellent! When I returned for follow up appointments two days later, and then a week after that, he was pleased with the results, and I breathed a HUGE sigh of relief! I thank God and I thank Dr. Carim. I also thank my eye doctor who knew where to send me. In addition, I want to thank the staff members who were so kind and encouraging. This is a wonderful practice!

St. Joseph's Medical Center-Community Campus
I would never go there again! I went there for my Family Doctor, and my OB GYN and both were terrible! The visit would be scheduled for 1 pm and I would have to wait until 230 just to be called back, they would schedule appointments and then tell me I didn't have one despite me having the card to prove I did have one, the doctors would have emergency's and they wouldn't contact me to tell me not to show up for an appointment when I was 8 months pregnant and walked to the clinic! If you are sick, you can only be seen at 730 in the morning, which is not a good time for some people who work or have other obligations. The OB doctor who delivered my daughter rushed my induction and I ended up needing an emergency c-section. It takes a long time to even get an appointment with the family doctor's, and you usually are seeing different doctors everytime you go in. The only really great thing I can say about the Family Practice is that there is one doctor there who was smart enough, after a year of other doctors misdiagnosing me(same practice), to diagnose me with my cancer.

Ginsberg Gary MD
Thanks to Dr. Ginsberg I have no need for a Urologist!. I was stub-born and did not take his advice for a while; Dr. Ginsberg was always patient and kind to me no matter what. When I finally took his advice I have not been in pain or had any problems with my Kidney since. The office visits were always pleasent, fast and efficient. He has a Great bed side manner! I Positively recommond Dr. Ginsburg!!

Edward J Silverman MD
If you have a chance for Dr Silverman to become your PCP, Don't hesitate, he's very kind, he answers your questions, and really listens to you, he takes the time that is needed with his patients, he even likes to joke around which is a pleasantly nice touch. He's one of the best Doctors I've had in a long time. Bottom line he gets to the problem and gets it corrected.

Dr. Jason J Bundy, MD
Top Notch Doc. Bluntly, Dr Bundy and I did not care for one another when we first met. Consequently, I chose another Pain Management doctor. A few years later my spine ruptured and I was hospitalized while my doctor was on vacation. Dr Bundy and his team came to my aid, Huge Relief. Extraordinary Effort. Bravo.

Professional environment, great team and successful outcome from their services. RAC has helped me build my business to what it is today but still allowed me to have the creative freedom so I can call it my own.

Tips & Advices
This depends on the facility. Patients should call to find out if they'll need a referral from their physician prior to making an appointment.
Aside from hyperbaric oxygen treatment, most wound care centers offer:
  • Debridement: The removal of dead skin and tissue surrounding the wound. This can be done surgically, using a whirlpool bath, syringes, enzymes that dissolve the tissue, or wet dressings that dry on the wound and absorb the dead tissue.
  • Dressing: Wrapping the wound in a protective film, gauze, gel, or foam.
  • Compression stockings: Tight-fitted fabric sheaths that encourage blood flow.
  • Artificial skin: A covering that is applied to the wound for several days as it heals.
  • Ultrasound: The use of sound waves to promote healing.
  • Growth factor therapy: The use of materials naturally produced by the body to encourage quick cell growth.
  • Negative pressure therapy: Creating a vacuum around a wound to encourage faster blood flow to the area.
Depending on where the treatment is administered, hyperbaric oxygen treatment  can cost $100- $1,000. After insurance is applied, patients may have a copay of $10 -$50 or a coinsurance fee of 10 percent to 50 percent.
Most wounds should heal within two to six weeks. An individual should seek chronic wound treatment if a wound has not begun to heal after two weeks or is not completely healed after six.
Most health insurance plans cover wound care. Patients should check with the clinic and their health insurance provider before seeking treatment to be sure.
