The Best Gardener EVER!I've had occasion to hire gardeners several different times over the last 20 yrs or so, but I have now found the best! I moved into my present home just over a year ago and Joe's name, along with two other names, were given to me, so I proceeded to get estimates. I felt like Goldilocks from the 3 bears...the first was too expensive, the next was too arrogant and rude, and the third, Joe, was just right! He met me and was so easy to talk to, yet very professional. He answered all my questions (even the dumb ones!), and his price was very reasonable. Joe does it all, but I was mostly interested in lawn care, weed maintenance, and planting. He is bonded and insured, which is very important to many people. It's been over a year now and I can wholeheartedly recommend Joe without reservation. If you're looking for a knowledgeable, friendly, accommodating (he always works with my schedule) gardener, I urge you to call Joe for a quote, you'll be glad you did!

Had Joe and his guys here this past Saturday to remove a 60 foot Mesquite tree that had to be surgically cut from the top to the bottom. It was next to my neighbor fence and my wood shop and it could't be felled. They did a great job in about 4 hours. I had bids as high as $1000 and Joe did it for $600,Call Joe and his crew when you need any trees removed or trimmed, I highly recommend them.

Joe has been trimming and cleaning our front yard for the past two years or so. Even though it is a small yard, it requires a lot of attention to detail as it consists of rare desert plants, such as cactus and agave.. Joe does a phenomenal job - he is quick, reliable and every time after he leaves we receive compliments on the yard. I can highly recommend him and his company!

We've now used J.E.M. twice to clean up half an acre and it was a mess. The owner Joe and his crew did a fantastic job. J.E.M.'s work came in under budget and time. We have more work to be done but I wanted to give a shout out to J.E.M. Great work Joe!

Tips & Advices
Do your due diligence and always ask for proof of insurance and certification before agreeing to any work. You will also want to be on the lookout for telltale signs of scams and be cautious of any company that:
  • Will not provide you with a certificate of their insurance policy or only has general liability coverage
  • Declines to give you a written estimate for the job
  • Gives you bids that either seem very low or very high
  • Contacted you out of the blue to see if you needed their services
  • Has complaints against it from business bureaus in your area
  • Asks for payment before starting work
  • Doesn't have a fixed physical address
Tree service companies are also great places to get your wood if you happen to have a fireplace. Many tree businesses offer free delivery and stacking of hardwoods, such as maple or birch. These can make for the best firewood because they burn slowly and don't produce as much smoke as other types.
If you want to add to the greenery in your yard but you're concerned about the right species to plant or where to put it on your property, seek the advice of an arborist.
If a storm hits and damages your residence, a tree service professional is usually on your list of people to call for help after first responders and your insurer. A professional service can completely remove a tree or just prune and saw off its branches if a storm damages a tree. After sawing or destroying the tree, professionals can then remove any of the dangerous debris from your yard by hauling it off.
Some bugs burrow through the bark and damage hardwood and softwood trees. Depending on the species of trees in your yard and the region of the country you live in, aphids, the infamous emerald ash borer or other pests could destroy your healthy trees.
