What a nightmare. First American sent them out to fix my AC. My AC was broken for 9 weeks in the middle of summer and heat warnings. Why did it take 9 weeks? Cool Air repeatedly did not follow up with First American. They never once returned a call or even call to say they'd be out to work on my AC. When they finally did come out, they had the wrong parts because they misdiagnosed the problem. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with.

Do NOT use this company. Cool Air mechanical is very disrespectful. I called and spoke with Cathy and she fussed me out and hung up on me twice after I demanded to speak to a manager. The guy came out, took my money and told me they would call me that same day to set up an appointment to fix it. They never called. So I called HMS bc they are the ones that sent me to them. So after about 2 weeks of calling they decided to sent the report in to HMS finally. It is 96 degrees outside. My hot is so hot and I have little children. I had to call several times and they never answered. They never give follow ups and don't keep their appointment time. They told me they would be here 12-5 it is now 9pm and they are still not here but according to the manager they are "on the way" . Do not waste your time and money because this company doesn't care about your AC or your safety.

I have been without Air Conditioning since May 31st when I called my warranty company. Cool Air came out and failed to diagnose the problem correctly. They replaced the compressor and the unit was still not working. Needed another part (evaporator coil) and my husband and I had to constantly call Cool Air to get them to contact the warranty company. Spoke with them today and was told that the part was still not in but when it comes in it will be 2 WEEKS before they can schedule the repair since it's a big job and they don't want their mechanics too get over heated. I guess they are not concerned that their customers are overheated. Very unprofessional in returning phones calls, placing phone calls, scheduling repairs, properly diagnosing your AC repair, and answering e-mail complaints. If I could give this company ZERO Stars I would but it's not an option. I do not recommend them to anyone unless you want to have the worst experience of your life in having your AC repaired.

TERRIBLE and unresponsive!!!! Been a month without A/C.Same experience as Leslie C.Worked with warranty company to get a new vendor. I would not EVER use this company or recommend them.Oh and by the way...the A/C issue is all stemming from a janky, messed up job they did a few months prior.

Unprofessional ignorant manager who laughs and hangs up on customers. Had no heat all week because of these people. They can cash a check but can't do the actually work. Came looked at my unit took my check and never heard from them again. Until we call 4 days later with ice and snow on the ground. The ghetto ignorant pathetic excuse of a woman answers the phone saying Yah what you want. First of all u worthless person it's hello how can I help you. If u want the job done and done right don't call these people. That thing that answered the phone for this company needs to be fired!

Had done business with Jay in the past but my last experience was not a good one. The service tech came out adjusted my air flow (which was not what they were called out for) and when I called Jay back to explain his service man had adjusted our air flow without my consent and was not the reason they were called , he said he would charge me $150 to come back out!!! Not happy that i should pay $150 to fix a problem his service man created.

I've owned two different houses here in Raleigh over the past 6 years and have always used Woodcrest for my HVAC service/repairs. My first house's A/C was on its last leg when I purchased the house. Needless to say when August rolled around it died during the hottest week of the year. I called Woodcrest and they sent a tech out to assess the problem that day when no other company really wanted to give me an appointment. By the end of the next day I had a brand new A/C unit and air handler. My current house has two Trane units and the downstairs unit went out about 5 hrs before my wife and I were hosting a party (Of Course). Within 1.5 hours Woodcrest was at my house and my unit was up and running in plenty of time to break out the hors d'oeuvres. These guys have always been punctual, polite and very reasonably priced. I plan to use them for the duration of my time in Raleigh.

Our experience with Cool Air Mechanical has been awful. They were sent to us by HSA Home Warranty. On every occasion when they are supposed to call, we end up having to call them. After diagnosing that our a/c unit needed replacing, they took 2 weeks to get that info to HSA. Once the replacement unit arrived in town, they took another week to schedule it to be installed. They installed the unit and the next day the unit started having problems. We called immediately to get the issue resolved. When we are able to reach a person, they setup an appointment. Each time it's a five hour window. Then no one shows up or calls. It has been several weeks and still no one will come out or call back. We paid close to a $1000 beyond what the HSA paid them for "items not covered by warranty" and of course they cashed our check instantly. But yet they won't come back and fix their work. They won't even inspect their work. Do not use this company. From the beginning (about 7 weeks ago), they have not shown up for appointments, do not call back, and do shoddy work. We have not had air conditioning for almost two months. I have never written a complaint before but I just had to say something. It would be one thing if they bothered to return a call and let us know they are backed up, but to just waste our time and take our money is unethical and unacceptable. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

I would give them zero stars if that was an option! This company is terrible. We were contracted with them through our home warranty FOUR weeks ago for an AC repair. It was August. It was HOT. Our unit was making a terrible racket. The first tech that came out told us the motor needed to be replaced and that they were going to try to find an exact match because of the size/shape of our unit. A stock motor may not fit/work but it might take some time to find the matching motor since its an old unit. 12 days later they arrived to install the new motor, and the tech noticed that the fan blade also needed to be replaced as a part that is normally one piece has separated in to two. He left the motor with us and told us they would overnight the fan blade and return tomorrow to do all the repairs. When my husband looked at the motor he found that it is not a match to the old motor and in fact has less horsepower. He went to our unit. wrote down the numbers on the old motor and found an exact match available online with a simple google search. in 5 minutes he did what supposedly took Woodcrest 10 days - found a matching motor. We told the management that we did not want the motor they brought us, but wanted an exact match like they told us they were going to get. After much back and forth they agreed to order the matching motor. The tech replaced the fan blade and the AC is working better now, but we've been waiting 2 weeks for the motor. They haven't contacted us and won't return our calls. If your AC breaks, call a company that know what they are doing. If your home warranty company tries to contract you with Woodcrest, demand that they give you another company!SERIOUSLY, SAVE YOUR MONEY AND YOUR TIME. DON'T EVER USE THIS COMPANY!
