Yes, it's a wonderful school. The staff are very dedicated, and everyone who works there truly loves children. Most of the staff truly believe in the Montessori Method. I learned a lot about how to be a better parent during my two years at MSR, and am thankful for all that I learned about purposeful work and teaching children independence. \r \r That having been said, I do not think that the incredibly high tuition is warranted, especially since on top of that they ask for so much volunteer time and are constantly asking for more money. It was a money pit, and for that reason I chose to practice what I learned from MSR at home and send my second child to a more moderately priced preschool. He is just as far along academically as his brother, who went from Children's House to public school and was ahead of the game but is thriving.\r \r Summary: great school - but not worth the tuition they charge.

Our son has been seeing Lisa Smith, owner of The Aspen Center, since he was two years old. With her help he was diagnosed with Apraxia and Sensory Processing Issues. When we first started his therapy she thought it would be beneficial to do in-home since that was where he was most comfortable. For a year she came to our house twice a week and worked with him. He fell in love with her very quickly, as did we. She is an amazing person that my son was very comfortable around and what parent doesn't want that-especially when their child is already having a hard time expressing themselves. After a year of drastic improvement in our sons speech (when we first started he spoke zero words, after a year he spoke fluently with only a few minor things still needing work) we both agreed that it was time to move him to the center-for socialization and extended therapy with multiple therapists. Everyone at the center was very welcoming. Our son immediately played with all of the children and whenever he felt uncomfortable he knew Lisa was there. He knew her and we knew her so we were very comfortable leaving him. It was great knowing that he was being taught basic preschool skills, being worked with for his speech, and also seeing an occupational therapist for his sensory issues all in the same place! No traveling to and from multiple therapists. Every single person that we have met at The Aspen Center has been very professional, loving, and caring for not only our child but for each child. You can really tell that they love the kids. We highly recommend this center to anyone-not only if your child needs therapy but for any child. We love that our son is around all kinds of children. We think the diversity is great and will help him to grow to become an understanding person and friend. Our son is still currently enrolled here and will continue to attend until he goes to kindergarten next year. We will miss everyone at The Aspen Center but we will be happy sending our son to kindergarten knowing they have prepared him with all he'll need to be an amazing student.

I am a homeschooling mom. Last year, I began to suspect that something was wrong when my 7 year old was still struggling to read and showing signs of Dyslexia. I began to do some research and found Leslie Rosenberg and the Student Learning Recovery Center. Leslie offers free consultations, and spent over an hour on the phone with me, listening to my concerns, asking questions and then giving me an overview of her services. I took him for an evaluation and screening. When he started with her he was at a pre primer/Kindergarten level. In 5 months, going two hours a week, he is now at grade level, doing 2nd grade work! His confidence is increasing as well as his desire to read. Leslie takes a personal interest in the children she tutors. She seeks to find out each child's individual challenges, what their learning style is and what motivates them. She puts homework together and fun online games that all my children enjoy doing. She also takes the time, during our sessions, to train me on what programs or techniques she is using, and will spend additional time with me after our session to talk about my son's progress. My son enjoys going there and my husband and I are so grateful for the success that we have seen in the short time that Leslie has been tutoring our son. We are very happy and would recommend Leslie to anyone who needs this kind of service.

Here at Rising Star Christian Academy, our focus and mission is to show children and parents that they are special and they should embrace who God created them to be. We focus on the WHOLE CHILD, which includes their spiritual, academic, social, mental, and overall well-being. We believe that each child is different, and we focus on the learning style of each individual child, while infusing their day with Bible studies that teach of Jesus' love for us, and the statutes that God wants us to follow as believers. The negative review you see by Danielle A. stems from a personal custody battle she was going through with her ex-husband. She wanted to keep her child at home with her, and her ex-husband kept the child in our school during his days of custody. All we can do is pray for people who post false and negative information about our loving school.
