Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Drain Services
The service provider was over two hours late (arrived 7:20pm) and left just before 11pm, keeping us up later than desired and ruining our evening plans. Additionally, one of the two sinks we needed repaired is LEAKING from a different spot than before the plumber came. Great. We still aren't done with this company.

I had a serious problem with water coming out of the back of the shower. Called Roto-Rooter, the answer the phone fast, booked an appointment fast, showed up fast, and diagnosed the issue fast. They brought fans and dehumidifiers fast, cut a hole in the ceiling to get it to dry fast, and did a temporary fix on the shower so I could use other water in the house fast. Permanently fixed the problem with the shower the next day. This all started on a Sunday, and, as stated, these guys were fast. They were polite. They did a great job with helping, and working to ease the mind of a freaked out homeowner. I would use them again in a hearbeat, and will anytime I have plumbing concerns

Terrible. I had a simple clog and it cost me $500+ After the guy left the clog came back, only now my toilet won't stop hissing and the water shut off valve is now broken. I'm in much worse shape now than before I called. Now I'm waiting on someone to come out to fix the clog and I'm also going to have to take off work to wait on a plumber to fix the water shut off valve, and I don't even know if I'm going to have to pay for this again!

Schwartz Plumbing Co
Had a toilet installed two plus years ago and it never has functioned properly. The company upon request came back out within two months of it being installed and charged us to unclog it. Repeated this again, sent a different plumber, he put some additional parts or changed out some parts without ever really solving the issue. We contacted another plumber company who came out and reviewed the situation, unclogged it and said it was a very poor install.

On 12/26 our hot water heater went out so I went to the Internet to find a plumber and saw Roto-Rooter a company that had a good reputation. John called on 12/27 and made his recommendations. Since the job required 2 Herbert assisted and the job was complete by 6:30pm. Both John and Herbert were very professional and explained things thoroughly. A few days later I got a call from the general manager, Dwayne Owens, to see if everything was to our satisfaction. I would recommend Roto-Rooter of Raleigh for any plumbing needs.

Legacy Plumbing
This company never ceases to come through for our family and our business! They came out pronto to my 68-year-old Mom's house to give her an assessment on a plumbing problem that has given her 2 days of stress and worry. Her homeowners association got her the first evaluation and quote with their "regular" plumber; that other plumber had her planning to dig up her whole yard and spend thousands of dollars. Legacy came out today, methodically checked all her interior plumbing, and quickly found the source of the leak outdoors. They also figured out questions about communal pipes versus private resident's piping that had stumped everyone for years. In the pouring rain, no less! Jamie and his crew are the BEST! Tell everyone you know about Legacy Plumbing in Raleigh!
Tips & Advices
  • Before calling a plumber, try to unclog your drains and toilets yourself by using a plunger.
  • Make sure you use a standard bell-shaped plunger for your sink and shower drains and a plunger with a flanged end for your toilets.
  • If neither type can loosen the pipe blockage, put a plumber's snake to use.
  • Ratchet the snake down the pipe to eliminate any clogs.
Usually, a leaky or dripping faucet is an easy fix that can be done by anyone who is even slightly handy with tools.. To fix it, first shut off the water under the sink then remove any decorative parts of the faucet and replace the washer and O-ring before reassembling everything.
To keep yourself safe from fraud or a possible scam, always remember to ask plumbers for their license along with a written warranty for their labor. Besides this, further safeguard yourself by checking their references and ensure they or their company is insured and bonded to do their work.
If you're having hot water issues, you can examine the thermostat and adjust it accordingly. If you hear odd sounds coming from your water heater, it could be due to sediment building up. To get rid of this, make sure you clean out the heater every few months. However, if you hear a boiling noise, it could mean the heater is overheating and you should call a plumbing professional as soon as possible.
Frozen pipes are hazardous and can cause massive amounts of damage to your home. To prevent your pipes from freezing during the winter, run your faucets at a trickle and keep your house's heater at 55 degrees Fahrenheit or above to keep the water flowing.
