One of my favorite mexican spots. The service is fast and all of the food I have ever gotten has been terrific. The restaurant does feel a bit small for the amount of people they serve.
2.Dos Taquitos Mexican Restaurant
5629 Creedmoor Rd
Please do not trust the one-star review! Sounds like sour grapes, as the user admits they did not even dine there. Dos Taquitos has such a fun atmosphere, delicious food (large portions & good variety), and great drinks - it's the perfect place to grab dinner with friends. Some of my favorite menu items are the chicken tortilla soup with avocado, steak tacos, lamb birria - but nothing I have tried here has been a disappointment. My only gripe is that service is not perfect, but the food and atmosphere more than makes up for it!
3.El Rodeo Mexican Restaurant
4112 Pleasant Valley Rd Ste 144
El Rodeo is always good. We have frequented several Mexican restaurants in Raleigh and this is by far our favorite. They have great decor and good service. Their enchillada sauce is the best! This place is always on point and very satisfying when you need good Mexican comfort food.
4.Gonza Tacos Y Tequila
7713 Lead Mine Rd
The BEST REAL Mexican food in Raleigh! It's not Americanized watered down Tex-Mex kind of food!! It always has a pretty good crowd and sometimes a wait. But all well worth it and the staff are great too!!
433 Daniels St
We have always enjoyed Cantina 18. Very consitent food, taco options are good and reasonable pricing for both the food and atmosphere. Never bad service! We tried the Sunday Brunch and I had the best benedict dish I have ever had. Grit patties, layered with several medium shrimp, poached eggs covered with holandaise. Try it!
6.La Cocina De Mama Greta
1604 N Market Dr
This place serves authentic salvadoran food, as a salvadorean this place take me back to El Salvador, food is delicious, the only thing I think can say I wasn't totally happy about is the time it takes them to bring your food is not the longest but it could be faster, but for the wait is worth it, and the prices are great!
7.San Juan Mexican Restaurant
3501 Forestville Rd
8.Salsa Fresh Mexican Grill
5910 Duraleigh Rd Ste 131
I really like this place. simple @ authentic.
13220 Strickland Rd Ste 170
I eat at Las Palmas frequently and they're always consistent from their prompt customer service to fast serving to the taste of their food. Great service and selections all around!

12.La Rancherita Mexican Rstrnt
7420 Six Forks Rd
439 Glenwood Ave
I love the atmosphere and the service!\r Their food is always top notch!
2109 Avent Ferry Rd
This place is definitely not one where you go if you want great ambiance, but if you want fresh, hot, great tasting food, go to Baja Burrito. The burritos are huge, and come with tortilla chips on the side. I usually use the enormous amount of filling in my burrito to dip my chips into, but you can pay extra for fresh salsa (not the cooked kind you're used to buying from the grocery store). The quesadillas are really good too, but I usually stick with the burrito. All the employees are really friendly, and accommodate for your taste. You can even get a wheat tortilla or brown rice instead of white. Keep in mind, this is a ""fresh"" tasting burrito, not the sink to the bottom of your stomach kind you get at Taco Bell, so if that's what you're into, you might not like it.
15.San Jose Mexican Restaurant
5811 Poyner Village Pkwy
Quite a few things makes this place different than your run of the mill mexican joint. All of which are great. Table side Guacamole is nothing new but done perfectly here. Normal place would have cheese dip this place throws hunks of shrimp in theirs, plus plenty of non traditional menu items full of flavor. The must have at this place is their Cucumber Margarita, these margaritas have got to be the best way to eat your vegetables!
16.Dos Taquitos Centro
106 S Wilmington St
i have eaten here multiple times. great food and service, great setting in downtown. once on a weekend night we caught the mariachi band playing outside..i will return
17.Taqueria El Toro
3615 Junction Blvd
This is the best/authentic Mexican food I have ever had in Raleigh. The staff speaks both english and spanish, though the menu is in spanish. I've had a steak burrito and chorizo gorditas, both are excellent!\r \r The Mexican Coke is a little sweeter than American.
18.Los Cazadores Restaurant Mexicano Inc
1310 Corporation Pkwy Ste D
It is always nice to drop some twenties (or fifties) at a nice, romantic restaurant, but visiting a mom-and-pop shop may come as a relief for your wallet and appetite. This restaurant has good food and it's a low key enviornment. I don't feel like a dirtbag if I show up looking casual. The guacamole is on point and the Quesadilla Beto Especial is always amazingly appetizing....and the rice...goodness the rice comes out perfect every time. We can't get that kind of food where I'm stationed at right now.
4511 New Bern Ave
Love everything about this place. This is where I "always" go when Im craving mexican! Its the best
20.Moe's Southwest Grill
4325 Glenwood Ave
Light, casual, and always fun. Kids/teens are always ""running the show"" and they're always very pleasant and eager to help. Open seating with a lot of room. Fun place!
4524 Old Wake Forest Rd
Behind Kanki and Red Lobster. The absolute best affordable Mexican food in Raleigh. This is a walk-up to the counter and order type of restaurant and has a huge menu with something for everyone. We haven't tried a thing we didn't like and the shrimp burritos, ceviche, and steak chicken tacos are phenomenal. Great flavor and satisfaction for extremely reasonable prices. You will leave full and impressed.
22.El Tapatio Restaurante
4551 New Bern Ave Ste 120
This place is right around the corner from where we live. After a year of passing it on a regular basis, we decided to go one night for dinner. The menu is pretty extensive and we both had to play eenie meenie minee moe to figure out what we were going to order. I got the 3 steak soft tacos with fresh cilantro. Daryl had the fajita quesadilla. Not only were they fabulous, but they tasted very fresh and the aroma was awesome! Our waitress was extremely attentive and very helpful. There was a crying toddler during most of the dinner and typically I'd be pretty ticked off upon leaving a restaurant and hearing a toddler cry the whole time, but I was fine when we left. The food was outstanding and definitely worth the money! The salsa had a bit of a nip to it and was yummy! I would recommend going to this place. This may just be my new favorite hole in the wall restaurant!
23.El Dorado Authentic Mexican Restaurant
8111 Creedmoor Rd
This used to be a great restaurant but the food quality has been going downhill recently. The last meal I had there was absolutely horrible. I doubt I will try it again.
24.Jose & Sons
327 W Davie St Ste 102
We serve comfort food that celebrates our forefathers’s Mexican roots and the culinary traditions of the local neighborhood. "On the plate, “Mexican-Southern” translates to dishes such as chicharrones and waffles, and shrimp and masa “grits” with Chihuahua cheese. You can expect to see Southern staples such as okra and collard greens done in new ways, too. An emphasis on local sourcing means that even the chiles rellenos on the traditional side of the menu may not always be made with the standard poblanos." Greg Cox, N&O
25.Dos Taquitos Xoco
410 Glenwood Ave Ste 300
Located in the Glenwood South district of downtown Raleigh, Dos Taquitos Xoco reflects the music, art and food that owner Carlos Salamanca carries from his travels to Mexico. Xoco, meaning “little sister” in Aztec, is the artsy sibling of the original Dos Taquitos in North Raleigh and continues to bring the streets of Mexico to the Triangle, offering an authentic flavor and feeling to every person that enters the door. Dos Taquitos Xoco features an eclectic dining room with a wild mix of handmade crafts and tables, famous Mexican artworks and other Mexican adornments. At the tequila fusion bar, check out signature concoctions or visit the outdoor patio, where you can bask in the sun and enjoy the scenery.
