Just Hobbies met and exceeded my expections! I felt that it was my duty to inform the other rc enthusiast about my experience when dealing with the few hobby shops in the Raleigh area. On December 26th I dropped my Traxxas Revo off at HiTech Hobbies located at Triangle Town Center Mall for a tuning. The expectations were that it would cost roughly $25.00 and they would call me in a few weeks when it was done. I was told that they were a little backed up from the Christmas rush and will take longer than normal to get to it, no problem. I called and HiTech and was told that my truck would be done on January 23. At this point everything was cool. January 23 came and I was unable to pick it up. On Friday the 25th I finally made it up there to pick it up from being tuned. Alfrado went in the back to get my completed truck and when he returned the motor was dismounted, the easy start was pulled apart, they were still waiting on parts, and I had racked up a charge of about 100.00 or more. What the Hell?? I have no problem with making the payment for the repairs; my problem is that for the month that my car was in the shop I did not receive 1 call saying what was going on, what they found, and an idea of the cost. I was expecting 25.00 bucks and now my tab was over 100.00… So, as most consumers do I began asking about the charges, what was replaced, and why when I talked to his repair guy on Sunday he made no mention of what they found and told me my truck would be done on Wednesday. When I began questioning the charges for repairs the owner became very offended, arrogant, started bashing the other shops in town, and suggested that if I didn’t agree with the charges he would strip the part off my truck that he installed. Again I had no problems with the items being replaced but I at least expect a call to make sure I was ok with the price; I think that is an understood expectation. At what point would they have stopped? This is a very shady way to conduct business. So as Alfrado suggested, I had him remove the parts he installed and took my business to Just Hobbies. What business owner suggests that a customer take their business to a competitor, instead of trying to make the situation right? That is Business 101. From the time I walked into Just Hobbies, Nick and Jody met and exceeded my expectations. While my truck was in the shop, I received several calls from Nick with a very detailed explanation of what was going, what he recommends and an idea of the expected cost to repair my truck. Also Jody the owner did everything he could to work with me to cut my cost. At the end of my repairs I gladly paid Just Hobbies $240.00 for the repairs. Again, I was not upset with how much the repairs cost, I was upset because I had talked to the staff at HiTech hobbies several times and not one person mentioned that I needed anything more than a tune. So even though Just Hobbies is about 25 minutes further from my house, I will be a loyal, long time customer. Most of the time it’s not about the price, it’s about the service and the experience!

I have to say that I have read all of the posts and negative comments about Just Hobbies and I absolutely do not agree with any of them. Just Hobbies is an excellent shop, knowledgable in the products they sell, and unlike some of the larger, commercialized stores seeking only the $$, Just Hobbies and the staff there have a common love of RC hobbies with their customers. In recent visits to the store, I was assisted by Nick who seemed to be very knowledgeable about RC, but was patient and took time to explain everything to me. Joedy, Daisy and Carlos have been extremely supportive of any purchases made, and more than willing to work with customers to first, provide what they need, and work with the customer to make it right. Again, their shared love of the hobby makes them want to help everyone enjoy it as much as they do.Go to the shop, talk to the staff and Just Hobbies will prove that all of these negative messages are just a bunch of folks who wanted something for nothing, and now try to trash the Mom and Pop's of the world. Good Job Just Hobbies!

This is the place to go whether you're into nitro racers, rc planes, rc helicopters, rockets, you name it! If they don't have it they'll order it. I personally am into rc helicopters and so far every heli I have bought I purchased through them because they are the only certified Horizon Hobby dealer around these parts which right there tells you they have a level of commitment and customer service matched by no one else. They will answer all of your questions and steer you in the right direction not to make a quick buck but to bring you back again and again. I consider Joedi and Carlos my friends which is why I sometimes just go in there to B.S., don't tell them that because I always act like I'm looking for something. Trust me, if you are old or new to hobbies this is the place to go if you want the best experience, best environment and without question the BEST PEOPLE around!!!!!!!!! In my opinion 5 stars is not nearly enough.......

My daughter likes RC helicopters and it leaves me at a disadvantage because they are not my "thing" as a Mom. She broke her indoor helicopter while playing with it outside. A caution that the other sales person from the other Hobby Shoppe failed to tell me. I appreciated the subtleness and explanation that Nick gave me. His honestly was welcomed, at least by me. What I thought would be a good in and out was a 20 minutes stay. Which is a good thing because we learned a lot. Working on daughter's list of chores and duties to perform before we go back and get the outdoor helicopter she wants. We'll be back soon. Thanks for the outstanding service.

My son and I went into the store this weekend, with an RC car that needed repair, it was not usable, few parts were bent, car wasn't moving and controller wasn't working right. I figured it was going for repairs, we wouldn't see it for many weeks, and that the repair bill was going to be high. Boy, was I wrong. Nick took care of it on the spot. He quickly tighten a few areas, unbent a few things and got the controller working again. While he was doing it he was teaching my son how to do the repairs on his own. My son's RC was fixed and running smoothly within 5 mins. Nick gave us great customer service!

they are great by me. I had my run ins with them a yr later im joining there race team. carlos covers my electrics. and nick my nitro's. both areSIIICC IN THERE FEILDS .and my man toys are monsters. manners and RESPECT WILL GET YOU A LONG WAY. dont call a business downing ther products and. expect to get helped. I started with red cats/ exceeds. they couldn't hold up to my abuse. its like giving a six yr old your pro built nitro to drive. oops 80 into a curb. they are entry level hobbies now it axial and traxxas for me. and they keep me rolling. REMEMBER HIGH HOG NOSERS. R-E-S-P-E-C-T.

I was in just hobbies over the holidays and they have expanded. More of everything the staff were great the answered all of my questions showed me new products and they had all the parts I needed for my traxxas 4tec and my associated mgt. I have read some of the other reviews and I do not see how people can write some of the things they have the owners and staff made me feel very welcome and I left a very satisifed and happy customer this is my hobby shop forever....... I say go and check these guys out they are the real thing and there techs are great they know how to tune cars......

I try to go to all of the local hobby shops with in a hour and a half drive all of them have their good points. For me just hobbys has more then their fair share of good points. Most notable one for me is the parts inventory to me is the biggest i have seen. I have gotten parts from them that they had to order for my older rc's. Not only did the store order what I needed but they got extras for the shelf for the next time I brake it. Having a lot of rc models to choose from is nice but once you have one and it brakes parts avalibility to fix it is best.

My experience with Just Hobbies and their staff has always been positive. If they don't have what I need they have always been willing to order it. One time when the items were taking much longer than normal to come in and I was able to find them elsewhere, I discussed it with them and they just cancelled the order with no surcharge or anything. I've also been in a few times looking for an odd piece of something for repairs and they've just given me what I needed. We're not talking about big items here, just odds and ends, but I've appreciated that!

I highly recommend you support Just Hobbies on Glenwood! I am a teacher, and I have a group of students participating in the NC STATE STEP (Sustainable Tech Ed) Program. We had to build an electric car to use in a race, and the battery will be charged by a solar charging station. Well, we brought our car in to see why it wasn't running properly, and without hesitation, Nick helped us on the spot, fixed what we had done wrong, and made sure everything in the car was set properly for us! Thank you to Just Hobbies for being willing to be so helpful!
