Universal Family Medicine at Six Forks
I absolutely love the staff. My mother is a patient their and she just loves the girls at her doctors office. They treat my mother just like she was one of their own grandmothers, they are always asking how she is doing when I call the office for my mother.Getting in for a appt is pretty easy unless they have a provider out. Every time i call the office for a medication refill it only takes them 24 hours to get a response or the pharmacy has contacted me stating my prescription is ready before they have a chance to let me know its ready. I recommend this office and the providers here for family care.

Universal Family Medicine at Six Forks
I have been going to this office for several years, and though I really love the doctors I have seen, it is nearly impossible to get an appointment sooner than 2 weeks out. Normally I don't mind, but after discovering some serious health issues, I'd rather not need to wait 2 weeks for more answers (or to wait to be prescribed an antibiotic for an infection). Also, as a dental student I constantly have to update my health records, and have had to go back to the office repeatedly to have them fix their errors in documentation. I live 20 minutes away, so this has cost me quite a bit in gas money. And with limited time between classes, this is extremely frustrating. Not to mention they ran out of Hep B vaccines and wouldn't be able to get my second dose for 2 months. The doctors are wonderful, but the office needs to work on their professionalism and preparedness.

Dr. Octavian Mircea Belcea, MD
Not impressed and very disappointed! I've been going there for many years and now he is looking to "purge" any of his patients that will not pay his country club aka concierge membership, in addition to the other fees! It's beneficial to him, not you! He is also getting paid by your insurance company as well, which is just another way to get around the contractual agreed amount that he is contracted for with each insurance company! I hate that over the past several years I referred people to him, because they probably hate me now, I would!

Dr. Belcea and his staff are the absolute best. We left a wonderful 'small practice' doctor when we moved here from Florida. We looked for months to find something similar here and finally found Dr. Belcea. He is very attentive; following through on any concerns or problems we are having. He has a great, accommodating staff. I am thrilled we found him!

Take you through too much concerning your health. A patient with sciatica, bulding disk, fibromyalgia, chronic migraines, arthiritis, diabetes and sarcodosis (sp). I suffer with keterconsis and cataracts which has limited my vision to seeing just shadows. I have asked this office for a nurse and they aren't willing to listen or understand what I exsperience daily . I need a more compassionate doctor. My daughter had to write this for me and yet they telling me nothing is wrong.smh

Capital Family Medicine
I've being going to Capital Family Medicine for over 25 years and find Dr. Forsyth to be one of the most though doctors I've ever met. He takes his time and talks with you to make sure he understands your concerns or problems. He cares a great deal about my health and yes he fusses at me about my weigh but I deserve it. He only wants the best for me. I would never consider going anywhere else for primary care.

They're friendly and it's easy to schedule an appointment in a reasonable time period. They have however given me 3 different doctors in a year so I have to explain my symptoms again every time.

I wish I could give zero stars, this place is a joke. They run procedures that are not covered by your insurance without your consent, then send you a bill months later and will not send a detail of what the charges were from. Then they lie and put absolute ridiculous things on your dental records to justify why there were extra charges. If you work hard for your money like I do stay away, they are a bunch of lying crooks!
Tips & Advices
An osteopathic physician practices a comprehensive form of medicine that takes a holistic approach to a person's health. Instead of specializing in one system or set of organs, an osteopathic specialist focuses on the health of the total body. This includes evaluating environmental factors that affect a person's well-being.
Many family doctors deliver babies, especially in rural areas without a nearby OB/GYN. However, most family doctors only deliver for low-risk pregnancies and do not perform cesarean sections.
Family nurse practitioners are highly educated nurses able to provide medical care individually or with the assistance of another professional. Family nurse practitioners obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and then take the National Council Licensure Examination to begin working as a registered nurse. Then, they continue their education and obtain a Master of Science in Nursing. Following that, they become certified in family practice via the American Nurses Credentialing Center of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, allowing them to become certified family nurse practitioners.
Some family doctors provide immunizations while others do not. Typically, doctors who work as part of a large practice are more likely to offer vaccines in-house. Doctors in offices of one to two physicians are more likely to refer patients to a public health department or other immunization provider.
A physician's assistant is a person qualified to perform routine medical services. This individual is professionally licensed and certified, but they may not have the extensive med school education of a doctor. That said, PAs do complete almost three years of postgraduate study and more than 2,000 hours of rotations.
