IAT Insurance Group
UPDATE: I emailed the executives at the company with details of why I was appealing the decision. Just under a week later, the adjuster called me back to say they would be paying the claim. Our car is now fixed. This company is really awful to work with. They are a group of insurance related companies and they have bad reviews all over the internet. We have direct experience of them denying a claim for a case where a driver pulled out of a parking lot and cut across a lane of traffic hitting our car in the process. They classified the parking lot entrance as an intersection. Even the police on site said it was the fault of the driver pulling out of the parking lot. They don't return phone calls, they don't pay out claims. Stay away from doing business with this company. The BBB rates IAT Group/Occidental an "F" http://www.bbb.org/raleigh-durham/business-reviews/auto-insurance-companies/occidental-fire-and-casualty-company-of-north-carolina-in-raleigh-nc-3002076

Crismond Insurance Group, Inc.
I recently switched to Crismond Insurance Group for my auto, homeowners, and General Liability Insurance for my business and I could not have found a better place. Between my auto and homeowners insurance, they saved me over $600 per year, with the same deductibles but I acutally got more coverage!!!! They also had the best premium for my business policy too and as this is my first time owning a business, they took the time to explain all the coverages to me in a language I could understand. What I do not understand about the previous review which had nothing but complaints, is why did you switch your business to them after all you claimed happened (calling you repeatedly before you were even a customer)? They must have done something right. They were overly nice to my family and I and went above and beyond any other insurance agent I have ever met. Something smells fishy to me....

Carmen Ritz - State Farm Insurance Agent
I came on this site because I have been so happy with my services with Carmen Ritz's agency. Really great staff and service. I highly reccomend them, as they were reccomended to me by a friend of mine who raved about them as well. Not only has Carmen personally helped me establish homeowners and auto insurance with the office but I also obtained life insurance with the office as well. All of the rates were good and I felt like the service was stellar. I had a claim that Patricia personally handled and I was really taken care of. I was paid out very quickly and they called to check up on me as well. I do think this office would go to bat for any of the clients, and I believe to have my insurances handled by this office long term.

Wilson Property Management Inc
This company made my move to NC so easy. I was really stressed about relocating especially since I never had been to Raleigh area. They were friendly and really went out of their way for me. In fact they were the only company that would call me back to view properties before I arrived in town. Once I moved in the process continued seamlessly. Although I do find myself to be responsible and a good renter. I have never had a problem and don't expect to. I actually just referred a friend who has a house that she needs management for. She has told me her experience so far has been just as great. I'm releived I found this company.

Talis Management Group Inc
I have had rental properties for almost 37 years and Talis is, without a doubt, the BEST management company I have ever had. And SO much easier than doing it myself. They have been friendly and responsive to both my needs and the needs of my (our) tenants. They are well organized and tend to things in a timely manner. They take pride in what they do and how they do it -- and it shows. Everyone has been most helpful in giving me tips regarding my interactions with management companies that I have in other areas. I just wish they could handle all my properties.

Talis Management Group Inc
I am a homeowner in a community managed by Talis and their attention to detail has been a blessing. Before buying property in an HOA managed community, I heard a lot of horror stories from friends who were managed by other companies about paying a ton of money for a lot of nothing. Talis is a large company but never makes you feel that way as a customer, I have always received attentive and polite service and I appreciate them staying on top of tenants with the sanitation standards of Boo Radley. Thank you for keeping my community looking beautiful, Talis!

Talis Management Group Inc
I would like to compliment Talis for the courteous and attentive manner in which they handled my request. They left me a professional voicemail, "walking me through" the steps on the website, to acquire Restrictive Covenants, but also said I can feel free to call or email if I wasn't successful. I sent an email and had a response from them, with the attachment, within a couple of hours. It's wonderful to have such a professional and quick response!

Talis Management Group Inc
I've lived here 15 yrs. and have never experienced issues with communication from the HOA board. The quarterly newsletters are an informative means of communication. Every time I've had a neighborhood question or concern I've contacted Megan at Talis and she has ALWAYS provided superb customer service on behalf of the board. I appreciate the many volunteer board members over the last 15yrs for giving so much of their time to this community.

Talis Management Group Inc
I am not one to do this often, but when I receive exceptional service, I think it should be noted. I was needing some help today with HOA covenants and such, and Chelsea proved more then helpful. She took the time to sit with me, talk me through some things and help me understand what I needed to do to resolve what was going on. You have a very STRONG employee in her!! I hope you will know how invaluable she is to you and Talis Management.

Lauri Fair: Allstate Insurance
The agent Lauri Fair and her girls Frankie & Heather are the best ever!! They look for ways to save me money on my policies as we are always changing something but they don't seem to mind the changes. They tell me what discounts I qualify for and completely review my policy so that I know that I have the right coverages. I trust them and I feel like they are looking out for me. I absolutely love this agency!
Tips & Advices
Insurance agents will often try to "upsell" on various extra products that may be useful for certain people, but are generally excessive for the average consumer. Stick with basic plans that cover as much as you need without any additional costs. For example, if the annual cost of your auto insurance is 10 percent or more of the total value of your car, drop all but the most essential coverage. This is especially applicable if the car you drive is older and could be replaced with savings. Otherwise, you are paying for insurance that will never actually benefit you in the event of a serious crash.
Yes. Even after you've chosen a plan and started paying into it, consider looking around again when it comes time to renew the policy. Consider using an independent agent when searching for a new insurance policy. While traditional agents can still find a good deal, independent agents can choose from a variety of providers and tailor your coverage to your specific needs. The Internet has also made comparison shopping easy. Potential customers can often get free quotes online very quickly.
Send your insurer a claim form for each beneficiary in the plan, as well as a certified copy of the policyholder's death certificate. With the proper information, life insurance claims are generally straightforward. Problems may arise if the policyholder has died within two years of opening the policy. In this case, an attorney may be needed to settle the claim.
In the case of damage, take pictures of the affected area as soon as any safety or health emergencies are resolved. Take note of what happened and all the relevant circumstances and report to your insurer as soon as possible. If any of your possessions were damaged, use an inventory of your important assets and make note of this in the claim. Once an adjuster has made their own report, review it for accuracy.
If you're involved in an accident, you need to call the police right away and have them document the situation. You can file a claim upon obtaining the police report. It's also a good idea, if possible, to take your own notes to record: what happened before the accident, the date and time, traffic signs in the area and road conditions. Also get the other driver's name, address, license plate number, and insurance information. Even photos taken with a cell phone camera can help the claims process. Once you have this documentation, call your insurance company right away.
