Bassett Furniture
If you want quality furniture and old fashioned customor service where promises are kept and your buiness is appreciated, Bassett is the place to go. Renee King at the Raleigh location on Glenwood Ave was terrific. After my wife and I visited the store, she came to our home, made suggestions and measured our space. We returned to the store a few days later and were given a plan--drawn to scale. It included recommendations on furniture, accessories and fabric swatches. This service was free. Renee was in contact with us throughtout the entire process from purchase to delivery. We couldn't be happier.

Tc Artworks Inc
Tracy Friedlander · July 5, 2017We love TC Artworks! Tamara is so warm, inviting and kind. The art that she teaches to the kids is really great- I love that she trusts that kids can do *real* art and not made overly simple just because their kids. My daughter just loves the energy there, and I'm always surprised at how many different types of art concepts are covered in one day. I also love how flexible Tamara is, how you can buy days in advance and come for a whole week or just partial week depending on your needs. Great place, I highly recommend it!

I love the variety & selection of items this store has. The website is easy to use & very functional. The staff have been extremely helpful answering my questions & working with me on an item I purchased that I was not able to find a suitable shipping arrangement for. I haven't had the pleasure of visiting there in person yet as they are located over 500 miles from my home, but will definitely continue to shop here. They have some lovely stuff for excellent value & the discounts make it more so!

Furniture and Plus NC, Inc.
Good customer service. Alfred was very exceptional with his professionalism. The products, however, aren't as advertised on the website. Very upset that I spent a lot of money on a sofa that had a specific feature I wanted, to learn that it doesn't have that feature due to a manufacturing change. Now I am stuck with this sofa that I don't exactly care for. I would highly recommend you inspect your online orders when they come in to ensure it is exactly what you wanted.

Raleigh Furniture Gallery
I'm so impressed with this store's customer service. I called to inquire about a piece I really liked, but unfortunately it had just be put on layaway. They took my name and told me they would call if the piece or something like it came available. Well I GOT A CALL BACK that this beautiful antique was for sale again. I'm very excited that it will soon be mine! Thank you Raleigh Furniture Gallery!

Klaussner Home Furnishings
We had a great first time experience with Klaussner Home Furnishings. We just ordered a 3 sectional sofa and the Salesperson was very helpful and provided all the answers to our queries. The sofa and the fabric look to be of very high quality and very reasonably priced as compared to many other furniture shops on Glenwood Avenue.

I love this store. There is so much to look at and the prices are great! I live an hour away so I really appreciate that all the items and prices are on their website so I can browse before I make the trip. The staff are very courteous and helpful. They are open 7 days a week!

Heavner Furniture Market
Plenty to choose from. Raleigh store is really nice, Smithfield store is legendary in the area. I got a mattress set from there that the in-laws promise is the best they have ever slept on. I also have purchased several other items over the years from the Heavners.

This is a great store. They really know their stuff and they can refer you to other local sources. They have gorgeous antiques and great prices. You need to make this a place that you stop in frequently as they are constantly getting in new items.

The folks at Raleigh Furniture Gallery are friendly and knowledgeable. Selection is great and great prices. You can find many pieces from different periods. I recommend them to all of my friends that are looking for that special piece.
Tips & Advices
Provide the landscape designer with photos of designs you find attractive and might want to emulate. Gardening and architecture magazines can be useful in this regard. It's also important to let the landscape designer know how the  space should function. For example, a space that is being used as a play area for kids will have different objectives from a space being used to entertain friends. Finally, have a clear idea of how much you are looking to spend, since this will impact the build choices made by the landscape designer.
Interior designers can generally work on every type of room, but one should not assume that all of them can work on every type of space. More complicated projects--for example those in buildings with historic preservation strictures, or those that are going for sustainability certifications--will be suited to interior designers with specific expertise. Also, interior designers that have experience in a certain type of project may not want to take on projects that are outside their expertise. For example, an interior designer who has only worked on commercial projects may not want to do a small private home.
Every interior designer has their own style, but some designers are more versatile than others. Some really do specialize in functionality and code compliance, whereas others are more focused on aesthetics. Interior decorators are completely focused on visual impact, and therefore should be reviewed and selected based on how well their style is a match for the client’s tastes.
Full-service interior design starts with an assessment of a site and the client’s long-term needs for that space. It encompasses concept design, floor plans and lighting plans, providing project specifications to contractors, supervising  contractor negotiations and installations, applying for permits, and shopping for all the materials and pieces for the project. On top of this, there are the “decorator” deliverables, i.e. creating the aesthetic of the space, selecting wall colors/covers and furniture pieces, purchasing products and installing them.
An interior designer may come into a development project very early on, working with the developer and architect from the pre-construction phase. They may be the one to design floor plans, decide where to place interior walls, and supervise contractors that are installing elements of the build. They often work on commercial projects, although many of them work on residential projects. Interior designers can “switch hats” and do interior decoration, which means they are only focused on the aesthetic elements and visual components of a residence.
