Woodcrest Mechanical Services
I've owned two different houses here in Raleigh over the past 6 years and have always used Woodcrest for my HVAC service/repairs. My first house's A/C was on its last leg when I purchased the house. Needless to say when August rolled around it died during the hottest week of the year. I called Woodcrest and they sent a tech out to assess the problem that day when no other company really wanted to give me an appointment. By the end of the next day I had a brand new A/C unit and air handler. My current house has two Trane units and the downstairs unit went out about 5 hrs before my wife and I were hosting a party (Of Course). Within 1.5 hours Woodcrest was at my house and my unit was up and running in plenty of time to break out the hors d'oeuvres. These guys have always been punctual, polite and very reasonably priced. I plan to use them for the duration of my time in Raleigh.

Legacy Plumbing
This company never ceases to come through for our family and our business! They came out pronto to my 68-year-old Mom's house to give her an assessment on a plumbing problem that has given her 2 days of stress and worry. Her homeowners association got her the first evaluation and quote with their "regular" plumber; that other plumber had her planning to dig up her whole yard and spend thousands of dollars. Legacy came out today, methodically checked all her interior plumbing, and quickly found the source of the leak outdoors. They also figured out questions about communal pipes versus private resident's piping that had stumped everyone for years. In the pouring rain, no less! Jamie and his crew are the BEST! Tell everyone you know about Legacy Plumbing in Raleigh!

Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Drain Services
I had a serious problem with water coming out of the back of the shower. Called Roto-Rooter, the answer the phone fast, booked an appointment fast, showed up fast, and diagnosed the issue fast. They brought fans and dehumidifiers fast, cut a hole in the ceiling to get it to dry fast, and did a temporary fix on the shower so I could use other water in the house fast. Permanently fixed the problem with the shower the next day. This all started on a Sunday, and, as stated, these guys were fast. They were polite. They did a great job with helping, and working to ease the mind of a freaked out homeowner. I would use them again in a hearbeat, and will anytime I have plumbing concerns

Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Drain Services
Was very, very pleased with the communication and service provided by Roto-Rooter. Though technician's didn't arrive exactly when I had hoped, I was kept informed constantly - really shows respect for my time. David Hugee and John Armour were exceptional. Very professional, very respectful. They kept me informed every step of the way - and explained things thoroughly. Wish all technicians had camera's. Very helpful tool - but required additional visits since only selected technicians had access to one. Though I hope not to need these services again, I would contact Roto-Rooter immediately.

Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Drain Services
On 12/26 our hot water heater went out so I went to the Internet to find a plumber and saw Roto-Rooter a company that had a good reputation. John called on 12/27 and made his recommendations. Since the job required 2 Herbert assisted and the job was complete by 6:30pm. Both John and Herbert were very professional and explained things thoroughly. A few days later I got a call from the general manager, Dwayne Owens, to see if everything was to our satisfaction. I would recommend Roto-Rooter of Raleigh for any plumbing needs.

Lanier Refrigeration Svc
Leonard is awesome! When my heat pump died, Leonard saved me over $1000 compared to the quote I got from a larger company. That was about 1.5 years ago, and the system is still running great.Lanier Refrigeration is a one-man business, so you never have to worry that they'll send out "the new guy." You'll only get Leonard, himself, an experienced HVAC and refrigeration professional -- and an all-around great guy.Disclaimer: I count Leonard as my friend, now. I met him at church, which is how I found his business.

LIBERTY HOME HEALTH CARE INC
liberty home health care was recommended to us by a friend when we had no one to trust to take care of our mom. It is one of the best recommendation we received. from the first phone call from the office, the meet and greet with the aide was very professional. We love the aide (Ms Mary) because she know her job and we can go to work knowing that our mom is in a safe hand. Thank you Kim.Mark

American Expediting Co
We recently dropped the courier we had for four years after American Expediting Company took over a job they had botched. It was the third time American Expediting came to theirs and our rescue. Rather than go through that anymore, we just went with the company that we could rely on. It was worth the switch.

Caring Hands Health Services
This company took care of a friend of mine and they were very quick to service them. They worked with the family very well and they had outstanding customer service from the office staff, to the person that worked in the home. Very compassionate people! I will gladly recommend to anyone!
Tips & Advices
Frozen pipes are hazardous and can cause massive amounts of damage to your home. To prevent your pipes from freezing during the winter, run your faucets at a trickle and keep your house's heater at 55 degrees Fahrenheit or above to keep the water flowing.
  • Be mindful of how much water you use in your bathroom, kitchen and even outdoors when watering your lawn.
  • Make sure your toilet handle works properly and doesn't stick.
  • Replace old shower heads with more efficient low-flow options that can cut down on the gallons of water you use each morning.
  • Turning off the water while you brush your teeth
  • Only running your dishwasher or clothes washer when you have a full load.
Yes. If you're interested in buying a new home or property, it's smart to hire a contractor or a plumbing service to not only tell you if the building's foundation is sound, but also if the pipes are in good working order.
  • Don't use your toilet or kitchen sink like a trash can by stuffing hard to flush material down the drain or pouring fats and oils down the pipe.
  • Throw coffee grounds and eggshells in the garbage instead of in your sink.
  • Only use your toilet to flush human waste and toilet paper
Some states do not require plumbers to be licensed, but for the safety of your house, it is important to have  a licensed plumber to do the needed work. A licensed plumber means the person completed the necessary education or training required to work as a professional tradesperson. Hiring a licensed plumbing service means the people working on your building are knowledgeable about water and gas pipes.
