6.Coney Island Hospital
2601 Ocean Pkwy
My dear grandfather is a 85 years old, holocaust survivor! On June 6 he broke his hip and we had no way to get him to a hospital in NY city, Which is why we took him to Coney Island Hospital. What a mistake! The operation went well, but what happened later became a nightmare and i still haven't woken from it! Don't get me wrong, there are some great people on the staff ,but there are a lot of very rotten ones ! They look at the screen of the computer, and the people to them are just a number. On July 4th ,my grandfather was in bed with a dirty diaper full of bowels and urine for four hours until we got there and called the administrator!I We could not stop crying ,the last time my grandfather was in situation like this was in concentration camp! but this is only the start! My Mother is a 62 year woman, and on the 28 of june she was assaulted by hospital police for talking outside of the main entrance to me about my grandfathers care. He did not like her kind (Russian) and made it very clear The Gorilla of a man, 6 foot 4, 350 lb, told her to stop talking and because she didn't, he threw her against the wall and down and smilled about it Then they tried to cover it up,but its all on video and criminal charges were filled with real police! Please people think twice, before you leave your loved ones in this hell hole!! Other issues 1) My grandfather had an order in the computer to be sat up in a chair so he doesn't get bed sores and deteriorate. It took them 8 days to finally sit him because each department was blaming the other. Be advised, at coney island hospital, you need to be the biggest advocate of your loved one, i just feel sorry for those who have no one to fight for them! 2) Do not let the religious woman on the 7th floor step down unit of the new building next to your family, I do not want to give names but she is horrible and someone who does nothing while trying to look busy all the time all the while blaming others for care not being given. 3) Make sure the hospital doesn't decide to drug your family member by giving them xanax 4 times a day to make their job easier. 4) DO NOT BRING YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS THERE!!! RUN!!!

8.Forest Hills Hospital
10201 66th Rd
I have been a patient at Forest Hills Hospital ER many times and i always received very good care. Being a nurse myself, i understand that ERs are often overcrowded so i never let that affect my opinion of a facility. Both me and my family always received excellent care and were treated with respect. Unfortunately i cant remember the names of all of the staff members that took care of me, but one that i do remember is Dr. Moskowitz, who was excellent. I would definitely go back again and would take my family members there any day.

I fell and broke my rotator cuff, shattering it into 5 pieces. I was taken by ambulance to Wycoff Heights' Emergency Room, where I waited more than 6 hours before being seen. I am oxygen-dependent, my own oxygen ran out, and they were unable to provide me with any while I was waiting. Neither did they offer me so much as a tylenol for the excruciating pain. When the doctor's saw me they offered surgery as the only option. I checked myself out, against medical advice, and since it was by now early evening, opted to stay overnight at a relatives until they could take me in the morning to a good hospital's ER- where I received immediate and proper care and treatment (no surgery!) Wycoff Heights should be closed, it doesn't even meet third-world standards for care.

I should have listened to one of the patient there telling me about the survival rate of the hospital. That was my - BIGGEST mistake - to take my mom back and forth to this hospital and i will regret for the rest of my life! The administrator on the 8th floor could only call security guards for patients families who want to address their concerns. She was really a nightmare in controlling your voice of concerns, which is really immoral. She may be a grandma of someone and yet being so inhuman to the family and patient. She came into my mom's room a few times and telling me and other doctors that my mom should not be kept going with my support. She had security guard in my mom's room the day she passed away and the day before, she had me out in the snow while my mom had no one by her bed. The nurse head told me to leave at the night before my mom passed away though i begging her to let me stay. The attending doctor told me could not transfer to another hospital because he didn't know anyone in the other hospital and even i had made the phone call had the other hospital dr. called him. I could have called a helicopter to get my mom to another hospital overnight if time could turn back! It's a joke wait to see your love one's life suffering and helplessly thinking this place can do anything? No. I would say doctors and nurses and administrators were the worse. It's a nightmare hospital!!!! One time after my mom had been discharged and sent back the other day, one of the attending dr called me while my mom was back in the hospital, the dr on the phone thinking she had not been discharged and she told me the x ray shown she had pneumonia, should have stayed in the hospital. What a joke for life! Her blood level went down to 3 and no one in the room to give her any blood test to find out until i urged to. So many things it would take me pages to write about it. It Had Have Happened in this hospital! She had painful suppressed lumber, the PA told me she had psychological problem. Another time It was life threatening situation that i called 911 and saved her life and the PA who was delivering discharging instruction, told me not to take her back and forth to the hospital??? She didn't even bother to check why was she admitted? Yes i should have brought her to another hospital immediately. Did she know that this was a serious mistake statement? The night before she passed away, her fever was high and body was swollen to 3x of her own size and the dr. on call saying it was alright? Nightmare is the perfect word to describe whenever driving by it. All those memories of dealing with the issue of sanitation of nurse aid did not change gloves to the negligence of doctors and the immorality of administrator makes me sick of it, It was like a dead end road there,

I had foot surgery here, and the surgery room was impeccably (clean). My son whom has Transverse Myelitis (a rare neurological condition - https://vimeo.com/21806274 ), some doctors never heard of sadly enough. Many doctors do not know the symptoms of TM, nor how to treat it. At this particular hospital they either knew, or found out while my son was there - whatever the case, they treated my son for his symptoms. The care was great. The doctors, nurses, and staff were professional, kind, good listeners, and knowledgeable. My son did not have to wait very long to see a doctor. The nurses and staff kept checking up on him. The ER was very clean. My son (TM symptoms) and I (with foot surgery)l got TOP NOTCH CARE HERE.

27.Interfaith Medical Center

Most of their nurses are very unproffessional have street mouths and treat the patients as if they are dealing with a mentally ill person that doesn't know any better. I happen to be someones healthcare proxy that is and will be a inpatient of theirs continuously for the rest of her life she has sickle cell and mostly goes because she having what they call a crisis. The nurses gather together to complain and gossip about patients that they don't want to take care of. They don't know about PCA machines which are useful for a patient that gets repeated dosages every so many hours. It seem as if the Nursing Supervisor and the Administrator are coddling them and really letting them do whatever they want. Yes I have complained to where I am almost recognised by most and I put in a complaint with the Dept. of Health and they continue to behave in the same manner. Most of the doctors I have no complaint about but there are those with the high and mighty attitude thank god her doctor isn't one of them. They give no patient that takes pain medication it on time, wait period can be up to 2 or 3 hours late for some a dose may be missed because of it. They over medicated my cousin not Knowing how to use the PCA machine ( which they won't say she almost died but I know when a person is so unconciouse that it takes another medication to kind of bring them out of it they were almost gone and it took her hours to totally become aware of what had almost happened and was going on). They degrade them by laughing in their face. For them to do what needs to be done my aunt and I have to stay on their backs. To me thats not good staffing.
