01/18/2016Homes Plus Property Management
My experience with homes plus for the past year had been great until recently. I'm currently leasing a home from a friend that is being managed by this company. For this friend,I think it may be a great as the management seems to only care about collecting what's due to them. I recently made a payment to them at their new drop off point which is the UPS store in Puyallup, I was given instructions to drop my payment off with their box number on it. Not having been there before I did not know that this meant to physically give it to a worker at the counter so I placed my cashiers check into a box I saw in the back of the store which happened to be the outgoing mail. My cashiers check was taken with the outgoing mail without a return address on it and was lost. It wasn't until after I received a call from homes plus stating they had not received my payment did I realize what I had done. I went to the office with a copy of the cashiers check very distraught to let them know that the bank would not refund my cashiers check for 91 days, I explained that I would be able to make the payment in a about an week, which was right after Christmas, which I did and my January payment would be on the 10th they seemed ok with this but on the 8th of January they placed a 3 day pay or vacate notice on my front door which will cost me $40 and also charged me with a late charge. When I went into the office all the manager could say to me is "it's our policy and if we make an exception for you then we have to do it for everyone else" They did not to take responsibility for not giving clear instructions about the UPS, but very eager to charge fees....I personally would not want you to manage my property if the tenants are treated in this manor.
